Since we got engaged back in August, my fiance and I have flip flopped with colour choices like you wouldn't believe. At first, since we were having a fall wedding, we imagined the normal fall colours... burnt orange, soft yellow, cranberry red and chocolate brown were at the forefront in our minds.
Then, I discovered the beautiful (if somewhat over-used) colour combination of chocolate brown and light blue. My fiance absolutely LOVES the colour blue. Back in high school he was a bit of a punk (or thought he was!) and was always dying his hair bright blue. His nickname became Blue, which a lot of his friends still call him to this day. So we thought chocolate brown was perfect!
One problem: I had always envisioned a fall wedding with pumpkins, fall berries, and tons of fall foliage everywhere. We both decided that the blue would clash with that and look out of place. So we started thinking about creative colour combinations that would work well with the rich tapestry autumn naturally creates.
As it is right now, and I'll probably change my mind, I'm envisioning one of our main colours to be a rich, deep plum colour. My bridesmaids are happy that they're not going to have to wear brown dresses! They like the idea of a deep plum and so do I. But what to pair it with? Plum, sage green and champagne gold? Plum, pomegranate and platinum? Or plum, baby blue and chocolate brown?
It's still up in the air. And since we're not tying the knot until October 2010, I've got loads of time to decide. But check out my flickr page... http://www.flickr.com/photos/32976038@N03/
What do you guys think is the nicest colour combintaton that would compliment the beautiful colours of fall?
