Colour combinations... so many choices, so MUCH time to change my mind!

Since we got engaged back in August, my fiance and I have flip flopped with colour choices like you wouldn't believe. At first, since we were having a fall wedding, we imagined the normal fall colours... burnt orange, soft yellow, cranberry red and chocolate brown were at the forefront in our minds.

Then, I discovered the beautiful (if somewhat over-used) colour combination of chocolate brown and light blue. My fiance absolutely LOVES the colour blue. Back in high school he was a bit of a punk (or thought he was!) and was always dying his hair bright blue. His nickname became Blue, which a lot of his friends still call him to this day. So we thought chocolate brown was perfect!

One problem: I had always envisioned a fall wedding with pumpkins, fall berries, and tons of fall foliage everywhere. We both decided that the blue would clash with that and look out of place. So we started thinking about creative colour combinations that would work well with the rich tapestry autumn naturally creates.

As it is right now, and I'll probably change my mind, I'm envisioning one of our main colours to be a rich, deep plum colour. My bridesmaids are happy that they're not going to have to wear brown dresses! They like the idea of a deep plum and so do I. But what to pair it with? Plum, sage green and champagne gold? Plum, pomegranate and platinum? Or plum, baby blue and chocolate brown?

It's still up in the air. And since we're not tying the knot until October 2010, I've got loads of time to decide. But check out my flickr page... http://www.flickr.com/photos/32976038@N03/

What do you guys think is the nicest colour combintaton that would compliment the beautiful colours of fall?

I really like the plum, pomegranate and platinum combo.  From you pictures it looks elegant and classic.  Beautiful  My second choice would be the plum, baby blue and choclate brown for your hunny.

I love the combo of plum, sage and gold! I don't see the plum and blue going together... Why not a navy blue (incorporating your FH's favorite) with the platinum and pomegranate .

Maybe you could use the colors of a peacock themed wedding??!!  You could tie these colors in with the fall time of year, and this way you could have some blues for your hubby 2 be and some purples/plums for you and since your BMs seem to like that color too, and then you could also throw in some greens and even some golds!!  You don't have to go overboard with peacock feathers or anything else like that if you don't actually want a peacock themed wedding, but maybe you could just use that theme as some inspiration for your color scheme??!!  Good luck with whatever you choose and happy planning!! ;-)
