Changes of plans
New color
*Update*
So it's decided our Colors are Eggplant, Navy blue, with accents of Aqua/turquoise and Diamond white/creme/off-white!!!
So excited love the color scheme!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So Rex after a year of planning admited he hated the idea of having a hot pink wedding. Although it sucks to change our plans I've decided to go along since it's his wedding too. So he mentioneg blue and purple. At first I was somewhat irratated but I around acrosd this Peacock themed wedding. It's too perfect! First of all the colors will match with mainly aqua green or teal and blue wih purple accents. And another plus Rex is like in love with peacock feather he's always talking about buying some for our apartment and putting them in a large vase (mainly he wants Zailey to be kind of freaked out by them, he say when he was a boy his neighbor had them and they would somewhat freak him out like someone was watching) so here's to re-planning!

Here's the site I got the info from:

On a side note Happy Thanksgiving!

Champagne Flutes & Cake Server Set
Hand Beaded
I found the most unique champagne flutes and Caker server set at www.juliespracticalart.com.
$30 for the flutes & $80 for the cake server. Wow! it's a little pricy but I love them so much. I figured I been keeping to the budget fairly well, so why not splerge a little sometimes. Believe me If I new how to make these I would. That's actually how I found them, I googled DIY cake server set beads, & crystals. And this poped up. I think this is better than anything I can ever make, and I will cherish forever.

Some suggestions to follow as to the style of dress you are wearing to match the style of the bridal jewelry you will wear follows.

White: Pear and platnium
Diamond white: Gold Silver rose gold and pearl
Ivory: Gold

Open Backed Dress - When wearing an open back dress, adding a bridal jewelry lariat is a great way to add the final detail to show off your beautiful wedding gown. A bridal lariat is a piece of bridal jewelry that the bride wears around her neck like a normal necklace; however; the back of the neck will have a longer dangling piece of jewelry to finish off the look. Depending upon the piece of bridal jewelry, lariats can be purchased that are adjustable, which will be a better fit for any bride with a backless dress. Another great way to show off a backless dress is a bridal jewelry choker or bridal jewelry collar with a hanging jewel embellishment in the back. Bridal chokers have become a very modern and popular choice for brides that want an edgier bridal look and feel that still embraces the classic and elegant bride.

V Neck Dress - When a bride is wearing a v neck style wedding gown, Y- drop necklaces are a very nice touch for bridal necklace jewelry. The Y- drop necklace takes the same angles as the v neck wedding gown line. Bridal chokers are also a great selection for the bride that is wearing a v line dress. The choker gives clean lines and does not distract from the v neck style of dress. Regular simple and double strand necklaces also work very nicely for this style of wedding gown, as they provide a simple but elegant style that compliments the v neck.

Square Top Dress - For the brides that select a very traditional square top wedding gown, simple single strand and double strand bridal jewelry necklaces are a great way to finish off the neckline. They bring contrast and attract the eye towards the cut of the dress. For a very clean lined look, bridal jewelry chokers are the most perfect style of bridal jewelry necklines for the square top dress. The bridal choker has become more and more popular as the years pass, now with so many options available; brides are finding it easier to select the perfect bridal jewelry choker that fits the style of their gowns.

The Sweetheart Gown - The sweetheart gown style of wedding gown is accessorized nicely with a y - drop necklace, as it follows the line of the top of the wedding gown. Also with this style of gown, bridal chokers go nicely, as well as pendant necklace and simple round necklaces. The sweetheart gown is such a nice choice; the bridal jewelry that you select to wear with the gown should always compliment that neckline.

Strapless Dress - When a bride wears a strapless gown, there are many options for the bridal jewelry necklace. A bridal jewelry choker is such a great way to compliment the line of the top of the dress. A choker brings a symmetrical and parallel line, and adding a sparkly pearl or swarovski crystal bridal jewelry choker or collar with a strapless gown is so elegant and sophisticated. In addition to the bridal choker, simple pendant necklaces as well as single strand and multi-strand necklaces make great choices for the strapless style wedding gown. Wearing a strapless gown draws much attention to the shoulders and neck region, so wearing the perfect bridal jewelry that looks spectacular with that line of dress is very important for your bridal look.

Halter Top Dress - The halter top dress calls for a certain type of bridal jewelry. A dangle backed necklace or lariat are perfect for this line of wedding gown. The attention is drawn on the front and the back, making use of the entire wedding gown to compliment your bridal jewelry. A halter dress also looks beautifully pulled together with a y drop necklace or pendant necklace. The y drop necklace was just about made for this style of wedding gown; the y drop centers the entire look and feel of this type of gown.

Off The Shoulder Dress - When wearing an off of the shoulder dress, any style of bridal jewelry necklace works. A regular single or double strand necklace can frame out your entire bridal look with simplicity. If you choose to wear a bridal jewelry choker, that brings the eyes up to the face with ease as it finished off your bridal look. Y drop and lariats work great with the off the shoulder dress. Depending upon how much of your back shows, a lariat can look elegant from behind when standing at the alter, and a y drop necklace really brings focus to the bride with this gown. What ever style you choose for this line of dress, you cannot go wrong.

One Shoulder Dress or Asymmetric Dress - With the asymmetric gown, it is best to choose a great bracelet and pair of earrings, as a necklace will look unbalanced and unnatural. The one shoulder dress is a bold move; wear a bold bracelet and glamorous earrings.

Scoop Necked Gown - When wearing the scooped neck gown a simple one or multi-strand necklace is perfect. A necklace such as the simple one to five strand bridal necklaces will frame out the top of your wedding gown perfectly. A bridal jewelry choker is also a really nice selection for this style of dress. It is a simple and even topper to the scoop neckline, a great selection.

Whatever your dress selection, choose bridal jewelry that makes you feel gorgeous when you put it on. Your bridal jewelry is your icing on the cake and the selection of the bridal jewelry is just as important as the selection of the gown. Your bridal jewelry will be bridal accessories that you cherish for a life time. You will never wear your wedding gown after the big day, but you can wear your bridal jewelry when ever you want to. Wearing your bridal jewelry is your memory to the most special day in your life. What ever your bridal jewelry selection, look spectacular on your wedding day because you waited for this special moment for a lifetime!

As some of you may know I was plannin making my own invites. So two weeks ago I ordered the cardstock and paper from www.actionenvelopes.com. So I made the sample and it turned out great even though I didn't have all the supplies at hand (still waiting for them to come in the mail) but here a pic of the invite I put up new pics when I get the Rhinestones Wow, I am so happy! I am payiny $206 for the cardstock, envelopes (2 sizes) and paper on action envelope, which is really good since I am also not only making invite (response cards, Reception cards, and map) I am also making programs, name cards, and tags for the bubbles and cookies, name tages for godie bag and so forth.

For the invites I got my inspiration from alaunbydesign.com

This is the map I made for my reception and ceremony that will be sent with the invitations.
I found this site www.weddingmapper.com thise site has a step by step directions to making your map. Making it real easy to make.

Our programs are going to be made like the 3rd pic. I found the 4th pic on thise site and thought it was too, cute!
Each guest will be recieving a cd of some of the songs being played at the reception, that me and rex enjoys. luckily we like a wide range of music so it can strike a cord with any guest!

Hair & Make Up
A Natural Look
My hair is going to have waves or curls. I want the look to be natural, not a lot of hair spray It will be half up and half down. I am going to be wearing a Swarovski hairpiece, and chapel veil.

Okay I am kinda freaked about having my hair down in curls since it thine and straigt so Iam reconsidering thnking about a more traditional look like the 5th or 7th (2ndrow 1st) Pic. or the one below

I was thinking about doing my own make-up or have the help of my bridesmaids. Two of them went to beauty school so I shouldn't have any problems. I currently use bare menirals and love it. I want the make up to look as natural as well.

My nails, I always get the standard french tips, but this time I am going with the lilies and crystals on them. It going to look so cute and it ties in with my theme!

www.discountmugs.com let you design your own shot glass. Ours is in Black writing but has that pink color on the bottom. I wish the site would had let me show you all the finished product, but will take pic when we order them.

Were having black organza bags, that will have a CD of our special songs form our reception, the shot glass with two hersey Kisses and Chocolate Covered Vanilla-Chai Shortbread Cookies (Recipe adapted from Recipe Goldmine.)

Ghiradelli Chocolate Covered Vanilla Chai Short bread.
Guests will receive heart-shaped shortbread cookies half-dipped in either white or dark chocolate.

Ghiradelli Double Chocolate
2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons honey
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 large egg yolks
1 medium vanilla bean
In a large bowl, sift or whisk together flour, pumpkin pie spice, ginger, allspice and cardamom; set aside.

Combine butter, sugar, honey and salt in a bowl. Using an electric mixer beat until light and fluffy. Add the egg yolks, one at a time, and beat until smooth.

Using a small knife, split the vanilla bean lengthwise in half. Scrape the seeds from both sides of the pod with the tip of the knife and add them to the butter-sugar mixture. Beat to combine.

Add in flour-spice mixture, 1 cup at a time, blending until fully incorporated.

Place dough in an air-tight container and chill for at least 2 hours, if not over night.

Heat oven to 350 degrees with an oven rack in the middle. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

Roll out dough, and use a cookie cutter to cut into 1/8-inch thick slices in the shape of your choice. I went with a 2 1/2 inch circle. Place cookies 1/2 inch apart on the lined baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until lightly brown around the edges. Transfer to a wire-rack and cool.

Melt the chocolate in a double-boiler or in a microwave according to directions. Lay out some wax paper, and dip half of each cookie into the chocolate and let dry on the wax paper. Cookies can be frozen or eaten immediately. But they make a handy snack.

Makes about 45, 2 1/2-inch cookies.

If I decided to go with this company I think I do only do the one letter
www.topperswithglitz.com
Ed/ craftyeddy@gmail.com Haven't contacted him but I read another blog saying he makes the letters for cheap, but I don't think their metal because the blog said spray paint white?

Cardbox
So I finally decided to make a card box. I wan't going to but saw everyones DIY and thought this could be really fun and inexpensive. My Favortire is canadian brides, it's really cute! So I bought three decoravtive papers for each layer from www.papermojo.com then I ordered the boxes from www.hofcraft.com/papermache.htm another bride gave this tip on her blog, Thanks! I bought five different sizes boxes (they came in a package for $18) I am only going to use three but figured that I can decided which sizes I want to use when I get them. So each tier is going to have black ribbon around it, with Rhinestone Diamonds, on the ribbon. I like the idea of having the Word initals on there as well, with a big pink or black bow on top. I give you all an update when finished. Thanks ladys for the ideas.

Something Different!
Found this really grat idea for table center piece on the knot blog! Okay I am like really excited, been having a very productful week!

3 different size vases. I am using cylinders 6" 7 7/8", 10" www.save-on-crafts.com $6.5 ea table
tealight holders (clear glass) www.save-on-crafts.com $0.99 ea
Tealight candles www.candlesjustonline.com 30 for $2
1/4 in satin ribbon (hide top & side seam)
1 1/2 to hide (bottom seam) www.papermart.com
Black square charger plates www.galasource.com
Roll on adhesive dispenser (glue vellum paper down)
Glue-gun (glue ribbon down)
Marbles (white)
3 different pictures for each table (one landmark) (instead of table number you can even name you table after the land marks!)
table runner (hot pink)
4 Tealight holdersfor each table (www.save-on-crafts.com)
1. Print B&W photos on vellum paper & glue to glass vase
2. glue satin ribbon on top and side using 1/4" and 1 1/2" to bottom
3. Place tea light candles in vase
4. Set on black charger plate with (white) marbles and place plate over runner
5. Scatter accent color (Hot Pink) flowers (stargazer lilies) at the base of the cylinder
6. Place 4 extra tealight candles around Main center piece

OMG I am so glad I stumbled across this, because I am doing my own flowers so I was a little worried about all the floral arrngments that would need to be done, but know I dont have to! Well there will be some but not 20 tables worths.

Table number
I've found the perfect table numbers on gratfulbride blog, (the aqua colored picture). So I decided to rethink my orignal table numbers and re-do them. Luckly I hadn't printed the first one out. So here is round two of my DIY table numbers. And I love them so much more. I'll get more pics when I finish printing them out on cardstock. It's going to look eaxtly like the one picture in the aqua blue but with Hot Pink, Black, and White cardstock with hot pink ribbon.

Monogram Aisle Runner
Monogram Aisle Runner

Supplies:
Acrylic paint(s)
Variety of different paint brushes
Aisle runner
monogram (learn how watch this step by step video http://www.favorideas.com/video/monograms/monogram-ppt.html

Design Monogram on Microsoft publisher, or similar program
Enlarge 3 feet width by 2 feet height (or desired size)
Printed off of computer may be a little pixelated

Here are step by step instructions:
1.Figure out where on the aisle runner you want to paint the monogram.

2. Lay out the enlarged monogram on a flat (clean) surface and tape it down, so it will not move. Lay the aisle runner over the monogram and line it up until you like its position. Tape the aisle runner down too so it also doesn't move.

3.Then, trace the design with a pencil. Dark enough to see really well while painting. For lighter color paints trace lightly as possible, because the lighter colors won't cover the pencil marks as well.

4.After you finish tracing, un-tape and remove monogram print out.

5. Tape wax paper to the flat surface before repositioning your aisle runner to paint it. This will prevent paint from bleeding through onto your surface. Putting paper underneath is a big mistake paint will soaks through and get the paper wet, causing the paper to stick to the back of the runner!

6.Reposition the aisle runner over the wax paper and tape it down again so it doesn't move on you.

7.Start painting! Work on the lighter colors first, and from the inside or middle firrst. Use a variety of different brushes sizes and take your time.

8. Allow paint to dry.

9. Store in a safe place, like a poster container.

Flowers
Cosomopolitan Bouquet
.Center Piece for each table, and two for the bar. I am doing my own arrangement but you can order them at 1800-flowers Dendrobium orchids, Stargazer lilies, heather and salal,in an oversized martini glass
okay so buying one of these martini vases is real expensive. So I might just have to have one a couple on the bar.
So Iam probally just going to buy wholesale vases and hot pink satin ribbon around it with jewel squares See pic 3.

Heres anthor idea for those of you who are lucky to have candles in your venue. (2nd pic) sobay trays with rocks and candles.
