Please I need eveyones advice!

So my fiance tells me that know he was wanting to have a destination wedding, somewere in Hawii. Wow that's totally cool except I would have to replain everything! Caters, Wedding dress, Color theme, I feel somewhat frustrated. I would love to get married on the beach, but I would ahve to change everything. He's says it totally up to me, and either way he's down. But should I stick with theorginal or re-plan. I mean we were talking about going there for our honey moon either way.

If I decided to have it in Hawii
1. What colors?
2.Theme?
3.What island We've never been?
4. What type of wedding dress?
Any advice will help Please help me!!!!! Thanks in advance.

Kaui is the most beautiful place on earth.  I have friends with condo in Kauai (popui) so I go about (2) times a year.

for colors..i think you should look at some pics of the scenery and pull some of the colors from that. the pic you have now has some red, pink, purple and yellows....ou could really have some fun with it!!

as for a wedding dress, you could really go with something non-beach traditional, and add some color. Yellow accents on your dress, or oranage; that would be really nice.

if you go to www.vacationstogo.com, you could look up honeymoon and wedding packages with different resorts and go from there.

I would contact a travel agent to figure out where to go. I don't know if this would be true for you but my friend is getting married in Puerto Vallarta and she isn't planning anything until 2 or 3 days before the wedding. The hotel is taking care of most of it for her. She kind of likes that there's less stress but sometimes she says she wishes she felt a little more in control. Just a thought.

maybe you could just incorperate hawaii into your wedding theme or reception theme. if he is cool either way maybe just stick to the rignal plan and then go there for your honeymoon

if you want more people at your wedding, then you should do the wedding in the states. If you want it to be all about the scene and just a few people, then do it in Hawaii.

I would use Hawaiian flowers as inspiration for colors

You still have lots of time to change your mind, i really wanted to go away for our wedding but we decided not to because the people we wanted most there wouldnt have been able to make it. Now we are just gonna do our honey moon away possible with our BM and MOH since they are married.....

I think your fiance and my fiance have been talking.
I've done all this planning, shopping around and negotiating where Neil would randomly mention a 'beach wedding' or hint to 'elope' bla bla bla. Long story stort we are going to Mexico Oct 11 and getting married on the 16th. Quite honestly I wish that was the plan from the beginning b/c do you know how much stress is off my shoulders? The wedding planner at the resort we are staying at is great and has everything figured out (thus far). She has been helpful as far as themes etc... So if you find a hotel that you are interested in see what their wedding packages include. Also a lot of airlines regardless if you are flying coach, business or first class will allow you to use there closets on board rather than storing your dress in the overhead compartment.
We are saving soooo much $$$ and now are looking to buy a home.
I never thought or saw myself getting married on a beach but I cant wait to get the pics back. When we come back we are still having the reception party but now the date is TBA. It will still be at the same venue.

Your wedding is still over 3 years away so you have plenty of time to change your plans if that is what you and your FI want to do. Plus if you have booked a lot of your vendors this far in advance, they may be more lenient in refunding deposits that you have already put down.

We were originally supposed to be getting married onHawaii but had to change our plans. We personally were going with a Hawaiian styled wedding, with blues and greens, lots of tropical flowers, on Oahu (since most of our guests have not been to Hawaii, and Oahu had the most touristy things to do) and I would have worn just a simple Hawaiian print dress. All of that we're still basically doing just in our home state.

1.) You could have ANY colors you want. People would probably think bright tropical colors, but really it doesn't matter. It's your wedding and you get to choose the colors.

2.) A theme is not necessary for any wedding. A lot of brides choose a Beach Theme for a tropical Destination Wedding, but again its all up to you. Theme, no theme, your choice. A color scheme will also work just as well.

3.) The island would depend on what kind of atmosphere you're looking for.

-Oahu is the most popular. Lost of tourist and the least "Hawaiian", Very commercial and has a lot of nightlife. Very crowded.
-Molokai and Lanai are where you would really experience the Hawaiian culture. But there is also a lot less to do. Very relaxing and peaceful (I know no one that has been to either of those islands).
-Kauai is very lush and has a lot of natural beauty. Probably one of the most romantic (I have found a great photographer there that will be doing our Trash the Dress session if you're interested. We'll be honeymooning in Hawaii).
-The Big Island is the only island that has the active volcano. Not as much activity as Oahu, but more than Lanai and Molokai. The island is also very big so it takes a lot more time to travel. I think its also the only island that has snow, where you could actually going skiing.
-And Maui, is again laid back. Nightlife is pretty nonexistent. Its a nice place to just enjoy the peace and quiet, where you could chill and "hang loose".

4.) Again, you can have any kind of dress you want. It could be a big poofy princess dress, or something very simple. Don't sacrifice your dream dress just because it would be on the beach. Everything is all up to you.

Most people probably go to Oahu, Kauai, Maui, The Big Island, and Molokai and Lanai. That seems to be the order of the most popular.
