I wasn't planning on doing this... we had chosen favors that had a little twist in the title and were something we really liked.. BUT it will be wayyy too time consuming. So, we decided to do this candy that I make, that is easy and everyone freaks out over.. and it can be made way ahead of time.. okay cool
BUT
WHY IS THERE ALWAYS A BUT????
I keep seeing candy bars, and they are so damn cute! And who doesn't love them??? I dunno. I really wanted the favor boxes on the table for the pop of color in my decor... but now i'm thinking of doing both... but we have a photobooth too which is a favor, ahhhh help me!
For those who are doing them, are they pricey? What's your experience with them... I went to a tasting last night/open house, and a candy/cake vendor was there.. and I loved the candy bar! Just sooo cute! I'm sitting here at work, eating my bag o candy, going.. well, maybe we should! We could do all vintagey stuff.. green pop rocks! Green Cotton Candy... omg help me! lol
OMG PEAR JELLY BELLIES ARE MY FAVE!!!!!!! AND MY MOM LOVES SOUR PUNCH APPLE STRAWS! AND I SAW GREEN GUMMY BEARS LAST NIGHT.. I THINK I'M TALKING MYSELF INTO WHILE TYPING..LOL
pixy stix

rock candy
salt water taffy
andes mints!
Any other ideas???
I'm just thinking if its necessary :?
My reception is only 2 hrs. SO i don't know if its worth the effort, plus the additional costs of buying candy and the decor.
I think its a great idea if you can do it! Check around WBC many brides are doing this on budget and getting creative!
The thing that made me change my mind was realizing how much the jars and the spoons were going to be. The candy isnt much but sometimes the other parts are. Im sure there are girls on here that are more than willing to help you with whatever you need. Just do a search for candy bar or tag and you should come up with tons!
My mom has been great and really took charge of the candy part. She's been buying candy since I decided on the option, this gave us Christmas and Valentine's Day, Halloween and now Easter with specials to get us some options. She bought red, white and pink M&Ms at Valentine's Day 1/2 off and sat there separating our the white and pink!! :D She's so nice to me. Anyway. Since she's been buying the candy I'm not sure on the price. I'm going to guess the final number to be at least $100 including ingredients for the "treat" additions. :) Anyway. Good luck!
