So I'm doing two different types of centerpieces. 50 percent manzanita trees and 50 percent photo frame boxes with floral bouquets.
I started my photo boxes! I tried using a glue gun.. not so much. They just peeled apart. One of our groomsmen suggested a two part epoxy... so I ran over to the hardware store, picked up and headed home to bust out my next DIY... unfortunately, I had 4 boxes to make, each with 4 sides to glue.. no big deal.. except you have to hold each glued edge for 5-10 mins... yah.. I made one and said, what's my next DIY????
So, I was looking at them on Memorial day, just dreading sitting there for hours holding frames while glue dried... Then I had an AHA MOMENT! I had previously purchased these ridiculously heavy (like bang someone in the head and knock them out heavy) beer mugs as part of another DIY... (hopefully I'll have that up this week :)) Anywho, I made a makeshift vise with them, and had two boxes going at a time. Once I set up one side to glue, I would go and stamp favor boxes!!! woo hoo.. didn't take much time at all! and got them all done.
I printed some of our engagement photos, matted them and put them in the frames... Tonight, I took my green berries and lilies and made bouquets that rest inside the boxes. The four votive holders around the frames will be covered with vellum printed in my pattern... What do you guys think??
I set it up and just stared at it... I was like.. ehhhh I dunno. B/c the colors are dead on for what I want.. just wasn't sure about the fake flowers. But I turned off the lights, and dimmed the ones in the kitchen behind us...lol Then I took a mini flashlight and tried to create a mini spot light..lol Not too shabby... lol Still a little worried the flowers look chinsey... We'll have White square charger plates on the table, and Green swirly see through dinner plates. Should bring alot more green in! woohoo!
hahahha my friends tease me and call me Martha.. more like.. "freakin martha stewart over here..." anytime I cook or make something lol too funny.
