Had a little Aha! moment today and wanted to get it down ASAP, before it leaves my mind. And while I was looking for images to put on here, I saw another bride did this and it was a huge success at her wedding. Yee to the Haw!
I REALLY want to put fun, retro date-type pictures of us on the tables at our reception, (channeling
Mrs. Lovebug's table numbers on weddingbee). The original plan was to incorporate them into picture frame vases for our centerpieces. Now that we're doing balloons and skipping the flowers (see previous posts), I needed to come up with Plan B.
And laying in bed this morning, it hit me...bum da bah! Trivia Cards from the wonderfulness that is
Moo.com!

Every place setting will have it's own card, something like this:

We'll set it up so each person at the table gets a different trivia question. Help get conversation flowing. (I know at least a few tables will turn this into a competition!)
Here's the first question that came to mind:
What holiday did N & J become a couple?
a) Valentine's Day
b) St. Patrick's Day
c) April Fools' Day
d) Easter SundayI am SO excited about this idea! Can't wait to see how this comes together. :)
Anyone looking for more info on doing this, can find tutorials
here and
here.
I Love this idea! If I have enough time I will take this idea and do little trivia cards for the cocktail hour!!
If you have time to fit this in, AWESOME! But if not, no big deal either. Your guests won't know that it's "missing," so don't stress over it!
I have a question for you that you can use though:
What song was playing when Dave proposed?
(I know the answer, I know the answer Ms. Green Eyes! Hee hee!)
I like this idea... I mean, we were gonna do trivia, but having it on the table will DEFINITELY get the convo going. Very cool.
Thanks for the links to the tutorials!!
as always, your humble servant....-minx
Glad you guys like it!
AND OMG!!
You said, "Yee to the haw!"
Awesome!!

So, you are making it through a template from moo.com then they are printing them off and sending them to you?
Can you not just do it on your own using business cards?
Im really confused at the moment. I read the tutorials that you posted but I guess Im not getting the full effect of it.
I'm a dingbat!!
With Moo, yep, you can basically send them your (completed) designs for them to print, and they ship them to you. The advantage of using them, versus printing your own basically comes down to quality - the paper, the ink, the finish. They use a really heavy cardstock, so the ink used on the front of each card doesn't show through in the back. And they have fun, non-traditional sizes. The biggest selling point though (in my opinion) is, let's say you print 100 cards. Each of the 100 would need to be the same on one side, but the other side can all be different, if you wanted to do that many designs. (So, like these trivia cards, each of the 100 cards has a different question, but the back is the same picture/design.) You can't do that with other printers; each group of 50/100/whatever quantity bundle they do, would have to be the same, both sides. Make sense?
But you certainly wouldn't need to print through them. :)
Hope that helps?
