Wedding Reception
Cash Bar.....Why tacky???
You're throwing a party to celebrate your new marriage vows, love, and friendships and it's considered polite to feed your guests and even give them beverages, and why do they have to be alcoholic? Why can't you provide all the punch & soda they want at no charge, but if they wish to indulge in something stronger itÂ’s on their dime?
What I don't get is why it is considered "Tacky" to not give them free alcoholic drinks. I know that I have a few family members that don't know how to stop and that will probably cause drama during the night with an open bar.......and I know that some guest will not want it....and there will be some that do want.......and I don't care if they do have it. Plus it can be very pricey.......I am already paying a lot of money and I am not a big drinker.......Both of my parents are recovering alcoholics, who don't care to be around heavy drinking.......I have just been a little annoyed when I read things about a cash bar been tacky.......since when does a wedding have to require free alcoholic drinks for everyone? Everyone says just to do beer, wine, or a signature drink but I rather put that money towards other things that everyone will enjoy. Please... someone...explain why this is "Tacky". |

Just to let yall know.......
Library
I was at the library today studying and I thought to look up a few wedding books that I have been wanting to read. I looked the books up and they were all there! I can also check them out over and over. The only thing is that if you like to write or highlight in your books...you can't. The library also has the wedding magazines too! You can save a little money this way. I just thought I would let yall know because I would not have ever thought about the library having wedding books but they do!......so go check out your library...lol =]

Ask a Question
Where did everyone register for dinnerware?
I have been looking everywhere trying to find dinnerware that I really like. I want to find a set and then that will determine where I register for the rest of the stuff. If I really like a set my FH says it is too girly....hahaha I am not use to picking things out that are kind of manly too...hahaha. Another problem is that dinnerware can be so expensive! I would like to find some that its reasonably priced. My question is where is everyone registering for your dinnerware and what kind are they? Thanks!

Ask a Question
How many will attend?
I am trying to figure out an estimate of the amount of people that will actually attend my wedding.
Does anyone know how to make this guess? I have heard to guess around 65% of the guest list........I know that I will not be able to get a definite count until pretty much the day of but I am just want to know a round about number now. Thanks! |

I have fallen in love with the Maggie Sottero Rasharna dress:) but I can't find the dress anywhere near me so I can try it on. So I don't know what the dress will look like on me........Has anyone ever ordered a wedding dress that they have never tried on? I am so nervous but I really love the dress.

Ask a Question
Family
I have several family members that really want to be apart of the wedding. I am having trouble thinking of creative ways to involve them in the wedding. We have our wedding party already and I just want them to feel special too. So I am asking.........Are you ladies involving any of your family members in your wedding besides in the wedding party? If so how? =]

The Proposal
07-12-2008
Well....to start off I was totally surprised I had no idea about anything. Clif and I took a long weekend trip to visit our really goood friends Jesse and Jessica that live in South Carolina. On Saturday they took us to Hunington Beach and there was an old castle/ house there. When I first saw it I thought it looked like a haunted house. When we walked inside there was a really pretty court yard area. Jessica, Jesse, and I began to take pictures. Since Clif and I do not have to many really good pictures together (Clif likes to make goofy faces) I though it would be a great time to take one. As Clif was comming over to take a picture with me and I told him not to mess this picture up. Then he asked me if this would ruin the picture as he got down on one knee. I was totally surprised! I was in a state of shock=] Of course I said YES!! Everything was perfect and I was so excited our friends were apart of it all. Later on, Clif told me that he had no idea how he was going to ask me. He just knew that it was going to happen that weekend. I think it all worked out perfect =]
I am so glad that I found wedding by color! I have already got some really good ideas =] |
