Flowers
I can't decide
I was thinking about the Alice in Wonderland theme again and I was trying to come up with some ideas for flowers for my bouquet and what not. I found a great site with a ton of screenshots from the movie, particularly of the garden scene, but I can't decide on what I like.
I really like Gerber daisies, just because they're fun and not overly serious, right? But Spider Chrysanthemums have always been "my" flower. But the petunias in the movie were my favourite. Opinions? |

Invitation ideas
So the more I read and research the idea of having a twisted tea party, a la Alice in Wonderland with the Mad Hatter, the more I love the idea.
But for the invitation, I was thinking I could have it be a DIY project using those really large playing cards, Queen of Hearts... you get the drift. Or maybe even some really neat looking Tarot cards. Any ideas? |

Feel my wrath. |
Just kill me
My venue failure
So I finally got a hold of the curator of the Hertiage house that I was supposed to be having both the ceremony and the reception at, and I was told that there was a whole list of NOT POSSIBLE's that I hadn't been aware of.
- no alcohol - no tents - no candles or open flames and they don't have a kitchen, nor do they cater like their website says they did. Also.... as if it wasn't bad enough, they can only hold 40 people in their inside "in case it rains" room. So. Yeah. I have no clue what to do. Ultimately, I can book the gardens for the ceremony for $300, but I have to rent my own chairs for up to 120 people. Is $300 worth it, since I have no clue if that's paying too much or not. Thanks in advance, you lovely brides to be. |

My Tea Party Issues.
I want to have an afternoon tea party wedding, nothing conventional or anything like that. But I'm still frustrated with what I should do for colours and cake.
The venue is this gorgeous old historical garden home that I love, so all the flowers will be there and decorations might just be some large white circular balloons and mis matched teapots as center pieces. But the colour scheme alludes me still. Dove Grey and creamy yellow? Soft, earthy green? I have no clue. Help! I love the playfulness of the Mad Hatter tea party, but I'm not sure. Eat Me. Drink Me. Sounds like us, actually. lol |

My MOH Mike! |
So what I don't have female friends??
My unconventional Bridesmaids
Because I've never really been a "girl's girl" kinda person, I was at a loss for what to do for Bridesmaids. Tradition says that I have to have my closest girl friends as my MOH and BMs, but I'm not kidding when I say I really have NO female friends.
So I have a solution. All my guy friends will henceforth be my side of the wedding party. However, I'm still stuck with what I should refer to them as. MOH suits my friend Mike, because he's gay... but my other friends might not see it that way. Any suggestions?? |

Just an idea...
Veil and Hair ideas thanks to the movie, The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
When I saw the flick in theaters, Tim and I are HUGE movie and comic book buffs, I loved the way Jessica Alba looked with her really short netted veil just over her eyes and the sleek looking half up do she has. Soooo perfect for the feel of our big day.
I had to share it. |

ring |
The Proposal
Hardly what I had in mind.
Well, Tim and I had been window shopping for a while for rings that could be the one that I fell in love with. And let me just state once, for the record, that I am not a very superficial person. I didn't care if it was $100 or $100, 000. I just wanted it to be the ring that when I saw it, I just knew it was the one for me.
And I found that one. We saw it at Barry's Jewelers and I knew it was the one I wanted. It looked like it had been rolled in crushed stars, the way it sparkled. But we had different plans of action next. I asked to see the price tag and Tim told me to try it on. I think we both choked when we finally saw the $12, 000 price tag. Yeah. I guess I have expensive taste, after all. We discussed ways of having the cost reduced by chosing a lesser quality diamond and all of that, but I knew it was a pipe dream. Tim owns his own company, but he could never afford it. When he finally gave it to me, I knew that he'd move Heaven and Hell to make me happy. It's perfect. |
