I was not intending to purchase a wedding dress. My maid of honor works as an assistant designer at Ulla Maija, so she was going to make it for me. But on Saturday, while I was going to antique shops with my parents, I randomly came across a small bridal boutique with big SALE signs in the window. I thought I would just peak in to see, maybe get some ideas. I found a fit and flare dress with a lace overlay and an amazing neckline and back. i figure the back is very important because, well, everyone pretty much stares at your back through the ceremony. I thought I would just try it on, just to see. Well it fit perfectly and I loved it and within an unplanned half hour of dress shopping, I was finished.
on a cute side note, my mom said she bought the first dress she tried on as well. I was very happy she was with me when I found my dress (they live 4 hours away but were in town helping with planning).
My maid of honor is now going to make me a reception dress instead. Since the wedding is outside and I plan on dancing and moving around all night, I figured changing into a fun, short dress would be best. Changing will, of course, require a different pair of shoes and a different hair accessory.
beautiful!
