Any other Canadian brides totally frustrated by the cost of shipping from the US???

I ordered a lot of stuff online last year for my wedding when our dollar was much stronger.

I find all these amazing favors, or vases or WHATEVER
and then BAM, either the canadian price is..sickening..
or they dont ship to canada..
I propose a website dedicated to canadian brides, WITH CHEAP PRICES!!

I'm not sure where you're living, but I've had SOOO much luck with Dollarama. They've got awesome $1 vases, candles, etc. I'm also doing silk flowers for my pew cones and even the flowers are $1. Also keep a list of everything you need at Michael's, and when they have coupons out, go buy 1 at a time items (it's a bit tedious, but it saves a TON of money). Keep an eye on this website, and you can print your coupons:

It says coupons for Waterloo and area, but I use them in Calgary and nobody questions me! I've also ordered a bunch of stuff online and when the shipping is outrageous, one of my bridesmaids has an aunt who lives in Michigan, who's shipping stuff up. The other thing people talk about on here is renting a mail box if you're close to the border, and then just driving over and getting it....the easiest is to get someone you know who is American to ship it up to you. I've always had good luck finding vases and decor at Dollarama, Buck or Two and Wal-Mart.

Girl you know I have the same issues!! I have been planning my wedding for 2 years and am only 30 days away now. I can give u some tips if u need them!

To date I have found a lot of stuff at Micheals (in bellingham and seattle in particular as it is cheaper in the US). My fav dollar store by far has been Dollar Max. I found a ton there. It is Dollar Plus, so the selection is a bit better.

I agree that Efavormart is awesome. I bought a delicious cake stand there and saved about 100 bucks compared to our prices, and didn't have to pay extra to UPS. Bonus. It's the duty taxes that can really kill you in the end....

I am having the same problem.  I just ordered some stuff off an american site and the shipping was 142 bucks! And wanted to do personalized M&Ms and the shipping was the same price as the actual product (over 150 bucks).
I know what you mean by Michaels...the store near me isnt that great at all and all the wedding shops are severely over priced.
FRUSTRATING!!
