Favors!
We are doing the cliche favor of having champaigne flutes engraved with our names and wedding dates. I think this will look elegant and it is something that people will (hopefully) not throw away when they get home from the wedding!

We are also doing a candy bar with which we want to have personalized chocolate bars for our guests to also take home. I found some that I liked, but didn't save the picture to my computer and now I can't find it anywhere......aah! Anyone know where I can find some for cheap?

We bought a house!!!
I'm so excited!
I know this doesn't really have anything to do with the wedding plans, but Jared and I just bought a house together! We have been looking for a while now, and once we saw this one, we fell in love and put in an offer. They accepted, and now we are in the process of paperwork and packing. I love it, I can't wait to get in there and play housewife and decorate!

3 Bedroom, 1.5 Bath, 1560 Square Feet Village Home. Gleaming Hardwood Floors & New Wall-To-Wall Carpet. Open Kitchen & Dining Area. Large Living Room & Cozy Library/Study. First Floor Laundry. Rear Deck is Partially Covered for Extended Use. Level Backyard.

We are right where we want to be when we get married!! It's all coming together for us, I am so happy!

Place Card Holder
Place Card Holders?
Is anyone else having assigned seating at their reception? I'd like to, because I think it will cut out some of the hassles people might have. My sister chose not to, and people started pulling tables together and stuff......this is what I do not want!

So......I found these awesome place card holders that are just perfect for my theme and very cheap! They are about $12 for a set of 12, which obviously comes to about a dollar apiece!

Ringbearer!
My adorable nephew!
This is my nephew Ryan, and he will be our ringbearer! He will be almost 3 years old, so we may have to come up with a way of coaxing him down the aisle! But he will be so handsome!!

wedding accessories set
Accessories!
An all-in-one package!
I found this complete set on the internet for less than $200! I think it will go perfectly with my color of orange and will be a great deal for all of these little "extras".

What do you think? Is this a cheaper way to go, or would it be cheaper to buy each separately? I haven't researched this much in the stores yet, so I'm unsure if this is really a good deal!

unity sand
Unity Sand
This seems to be pretty popular!
This one is perfect for our Fall theme!

For those of you who are also doing a unity sand ceremony, are you incorporating your mothers into it and if so, how? I don't know what colors to use either, because if we have to have more than two, then I don't know what colors would be for the "moms".

I had this dress saved onto my computer as one of the ones I liked. I think this is definately the one that I want! But I can't figure out where I got this picture or who makes this dress? I have looked all over the internet but can't seem to locate it. I LOVE THIS DRESS!!!

If I did steal and save this from someone on this site, can you possibly help me out?

Me and Jared :)
A little about us!
Jared and I met in 2005, when I still lived in California. We hit it off, and I moved across the country to Upstate New York. We were together for almost 2 years when he proposed to me.

Just a little about us.....

I currently work in the field of Mental and Developmental Disabilities for a not-for-profit agency. I work in a group home for adults and I am the assistant site supervisor. I am currently enrolled in Ashford University online, and am close to getting my BA in Psychology.

Jared has a BA in Architecture and works for an architecture firm.

We have three dogs, Jerico, Maggie, and Hubert. They are our "children" and are spoiled rotten!

Honeymoon
Italy!!
For our honeymoon, Jared and I have decided that we would like to go to Italy. This is a place that both of us have always wanted to go, me for the food and culture, and him for the architecture of the buildings. We figured that since we are sure we want to start our family as soon as possible, we may never get another chance to go.

The Proposal
May 22, 2007
This was the most amazing day of my life. Just three days before, my sister had gotten married and I had no idea at all that Jared was going to propose to me. I worked the evening shift at that time, so I rolled into the driveway close to 11pm. Jared had been on the phone with me the whole way home, so I was surprised to see him standing outside waiting for me. He jumped into the passenger side of my car and instructed me to drive around to the back of the apartment complex in which we lived. I thought this was strange, but at this time I was so curious that I just obeyed. When we got to the back of the complex, Jared got out of the car and insisted that I follow him. We took a short walk in the grass until we came across a blanket spread out and a bottle of champagne with two glasses sitting there in the grass. Now, I must stress that this is something that we do often, so I still had no idea what was going to be happening. We sat down, cuddled, drank some champagne, and just talked and looked at the stars. I noticed that Jared had finished his glass of champagne and was now drinking straight from the bottle. I laughed it off, cause I know he loves champagne. We lied there for a while, and then Jared told me that he had another surprise for me. He told me to stand up, close my eyes, and let him lead me to where we were going.

I closed my eyes and let him lead me through the dark in the grass until we reached our destination. He let go of me, and told me to wait with my eyes closed. Of course, I peeked :) He walked over about 20 yards away, and began to flash a light, almost as if he were signaling someone. I was totally lost at this point. He became agitated and turned to come back towards me. I quickly closed my eyes and waited for him, like I was supposed to be doing. He made the comment "time to go to Plan B" and told me to open my eyes. I did, and at first couldn't see him as my eyes were adjusting. Finally I looked down and there he was, ring box in hand saying those beautiful words to me "Will you marry me?"

I was so shocked; I immediately began to cry and we hugged and kissed. After about five minutes of this, I realized that I hadn't answered him yet. In light humor, I said to him "By the way, yes I will marry you!"

Since it was so late at night, the only people we could call with the news was my brother and sister in California. After we made some calls, I asked Jared what he meant by Plan B. He then explained that his proposal involved a sign he had made out of rope that he had soaked in kerosene that spelled Marry Me and he was trying to light it on fire, so that when I opened my eyes, I would see it. Turns out it was too windy and the rope wouldn't light.

It was the biggest surprise of my life, and the most amazing experience I have had so far. I can't imagine it could have been done any better, and I can't describe the feelings that I felt that night, and every day after with that beautiful ring on my finger.
