Unity Sand
This seems to be pretty popular!
This one is perfect for our Fall theme!

For those of you who are also doing a unity sand ceremony, are you incorporating your mothers into it and if so, how? I don't know what colors to use either, because if we have to have more than two, then I don't know what colors would be for the "moms".

We're incorporating our children into it.
As far as the sand, we just chose 6 colors of sand that go with our decor at our home. That's where the sand container will be displayed, so we'd want it to match.

I'm actually from Dansville, thats where my parents live! Thats so funny,  you don't come across too many people from Dansville. How long have you lived there? Thanks for the comment! I would definitely recommend Davids Bridal..they have a lot of dresses and are just bigger than your average bridal shop. Also, the staff were very nice and helpful..The one in Elmira is very close to the Arnot mall..not hard to find. I'm actually also planning on doing the unity sand..I thought it was a cute idea. I hadn't planned on incorporating mothers though, so I can't offer any advice. Good luck with that though!

I am actually already married but was on here looking at a friends site and decided to look around. My husband and I did the unity sand with 3 colors. Are wedding colors were palm beach coral and truffle. Similar to your colors. SO we used peach, brown and white sand. We had both of our parents come up and my parents poured half of my color sand so it was a solid peach layer on bottom then his parents poured half of his color sand so there was a solid layer of brown. Then we poured the rest of each of our sand together so it mixed. Then the pastor of our church poured the white on top basically to top it off saying we have his blessing and for the meaning of God. We had our parents pour our colors because they are the foundation of our lives so we wanted  them to be underneath the sand we poured to show they are the foundation. We had the preacher read the meaning of the sand and what each person was going to do so everyone would understand because  a lot of the people had no clue what the unity sand was when I had told them about it. The pastor explained it a lot more elegant than what I just did but I'm sure you understand the general idea.
