So I have the unfortunate disadvantage of planning my Florida wedding from TN. I don't know what to do about my hair and makeup. Do I go to salons up here and try out styles or do I wait until I get to Fl the week before the wedding and try them? And if I do it up here, what do I say to the stylist, "I'm getting married in FL, but can you make me beautiful today even though I won't be paying you to do it the day of?" Ugh.

I am in the same situation.  I am going to be in the city about 5 days prior though so I'm going to go to the salon for the first time then.  If you are there early enough I would suggest doing that too.  I would just plan on spending a long time though so that you can try lots of options.  But, if you're really nervous about it, it can't hurt to go to someone local for now.  I think they will understand completely.

I think that you could just go and ask a stylist to help you. Another idea would be to say you're trying out styles for a special occasion (might cost less). Just make sure to take photos, because then the other stylist can see exactly what you did.

Once you get to Florida I suggest that you make a trip to the salon to test the style again so that stylist can get it right. You don't want any suprises on the big day.

I think Christine has very good points. Just make sure you've got a large block for an appointment like Ashley mentioned.

Good luck!
