Ask a Question
What do you call your soon to be new parents?
My dad is old school and all my siblings' spouses call my dad Mr D**** but several of them call my mom, Mom. I think all my siblings call their in-laws by their first name, which has been what I do with my soon to be in-laws. I've considered calling my FMIL Mom, since she definitely treats me like a daughter. What about ya'll? Is anyone getting an old school in-law like my dad or do you call them mom and dad or by name?

I call my FMIL Mom, and I have for a while now.  It's just easier and she treats me like one of her daughters already :)  He doesn't talk to his father so I guess I don't call him anything....

My parents have asked my FI to call them LeAnne and Ray or Mom and Dad, but he thinks it is fun to call them Mr. R*** and Mrs. R*** just to have fun. My other brother in-law calls my Mom Lenny and my Dad Ray. ... so I guess it is what ever you want.

For my future in-laws... They will be Debbie and Rick - never Mom or Dad - that is weird even though I've known them for a while, but they aren't even parents to my FI, so they get their first names. :D

Mine will be Debbie and Steve - I could easily call Steve dad, but never will I be able to call FMIL mom! So I just keep it fair. As for my parents, they want whatever is comfortable for Matt. He uses first names - they've never made anyone call them Mr or Mrs.

I also call my future in-laws by their first names. It took me a while to do but I never called them Mr. or Mrs. because that felt weird too... I don't know how I pulled it off for so long but I never really called them anything when I was actually speaking to them. haha.

Since we dont talk to jeffs dad i call him nothing really at all.... But his mom and step dad i call them by their first names. Couldnt imagine calling them anything eles, especially since we arent that close to them so we dont see them very often(they live about 1 1/2 hours away)

His Mom, mom..coz she left me a voice mail once saying..HI Its Mom.. lmao. And his Dad- Dad coz he calls me 'little mommy"  which in my culture is very very cute...;) They are divorced and they used to spoil FH so they are very much involved in our lives from the other side of the continent

I actually don't call them anything. LOL.  I just say...hello, or address the topic at hand rather than addressing them.  Yeah, it's a mess, but i don't know what to say & I haven't asked...& they havent offered.

I call my future in-laws Uncle S****** and Aunty M*****. I found it strange at first but it is normal in their culture and thats what all of my fiances siblings' spouses call them, they always say that I am their last born but I would feel wierd calling them mom and dad....my fiance calls my parents Mom and Dad, I love the relationship they have.
