THE PAST WEEK 1/2 SUCKED
A patient of mine passed away last week. It wasn't even the cancer that killed him. He was in his car and the light turned green so he began to go. An F-150 ran a red light and smashed his car up. He had a heart attack. I was so upset when I got the call. I canceled all appointments and I am not going back to work until next week. This man has been a patient of mine for a long time. He had such a good sense of humor, sweet, intelligent and his family was so nice and supporting. I was in such shock when I found out. The service was very nice. It was short, but so meaningful.
I do however, HAVE to make it to my meeting with the caterer this Thursday. The clock is ticking ( According To Danny) On a happier note, Danny got promoted on his job at Cherry Point. He was so excited, and I am so proud of him. He has been there for 3 years now, and his salary has more than doubled. He is now in the 70 thousand bracket so we are now feeling more secure in buying a house. He knows he has a secure job as do I and with the economy the way it is we need to be so careful in what we spend. We are going this weekend to drive around the county and look at houses. I really need to get my thoughts together and figure out what else we need to do before the big day. We are having trouble selecting tuxes. So many to choose from! Even more good news... some friends of mine that run TCB Karaoke are clearing their schedule for the wedding. I couldn't imagine my wedding without them as the DJ's. They are awesome!! |

Wedding Photography
DURING MY WEEKLY LUNCHEON WITH MY FAVORITE LADIES....
One of my patients surprised me with..... A PHOTOGRAPHER????
YUP. Her granddaughter lives in Wilmington and is a Prof. Photographer She apparently spoke to her last weekend and her granddaughter agreed to do it. I was so speechless, and so shocked.. most of all so touched. I love these ladies as if they were my own family. They have shown such strength and courage throughout everything and I feel so blessed and so honored to be working (really for them). But I am also grateful that they appreciate me. This field is so hard to handle sometimes. People can be so cruel.... however, if I was diagnosed with Cancer, I wouldn't consider everything to be Peaches And Cream. I couldn't thank her enough. |

Bridesmaids
SO I HAD DINNER WITH MY GIRLS TONIGHT.......
And they surprised me completely!! I guess after knowing what dress I decided on, they all went and tried on dresses they thought would be a perfect match!! Well.... BOY WAS IT!!! I just loved it!! They are going to go on ahead and order them this week!
On another note, I am very excited tomorrow is Wednesday!! Every Wed. I meet with some of my close patients ( I am a Radiation Therapist and I have 7 patients that I have become very close with. We meet every Wed. for lunch to just relax, take their mind off of things, or even talk about it) It's very relaxing for them. Everyone tells me all the time not to get close because if god forbid something happens, it will harshly affect me. I can't just not become close with these people. Just not possible. For that matter I should have just gone into the field for the money. I just want to help anyway I can). So now that I am off the tangent..... I am meeting my buddies for lunch tomorrow......... And they are expecting an update so I am so glad I have made some decisions!! Whew! Anyways... here is the BM Dress!! All the girls will wear the same dress but my MOH ( my sister) will have a special bouquet.... |

Wedding Dress
OK LADIES.... I HAVE REACHED MY FINAL DECISION!!
Along with my mom and BM's input, I have decided on the dress!! This was the 1st one I tried on. This IS THE ONE!! The dress I originally purchased was gorgeous.... just not me. I think I just figured I should be daring. Daring is for PROM. NOT FOR YOUR WEDDING!!!!!

WE HAVE DECIDED ON THE DRINKS WE WILL BE SERVING
During the cocktail hour, we will have 2 Signature Cocktails, and a Bellini Bar- The 2 Cocktails are Italian Margarita's ( Frozen Margarita w/ Amaretto) and Limoncello Lemonade (Frozen Lemonade, Smirnoff Citrus Vodka and Caravella Limoncello an Italian Liqueur)
There will be a Bellini Bar inside for the reception, as well as the following - Cavit Pinot Grigio Stival Pinot Grigio Amadeo Chianti Bolla Valpolicella Michele Chiarlo Nivole Moscato d'Asti ( This Will Go With Dessert) And Of Course Beer!! |

Ceremony
Welcoming Table
I really liked this idea for my welcoming table. The only thing I would like to change is the rose petals ( again!). I am going to have water bottles with our monogram on them inside the glass box. That way when guest arrive at the ceremony they can stay hydrated!! The ceremony will be held on the outside deck overlooking the ocean. To the far right is where the cocktail hour will be held. My fiance and I are still debating on whether or not to put up a tent for the cocktail hour. We are not having an after party, though we are holding a brunch for both immediate families the next morning. We will not be attending obviously, however, it is just something we wanted to do for them.

CEREMONY DECOR
OK... SO I WAS BROWSING THRU SOME OF THE BRIDES PAGES...
I had this idea to buy cylinder vases and fill them with pink colored water, a floating candle, and some rose petals surrounding the candle. This is the closest picture I could find . I am going to have an actual aisle runner instead of the petals. I ordered the vases Friday from towervase.com

Wedding Dress
DID I MAKE A MISTAKE?????
Ok. How many other brides do this?? I feel soo stupid! Did I make the right choice with the dress?? I called The Intimate Bridal yesterday and asked to speak to Sandy. She was not in at that time, so the woman I spoke with said she would have Sandy call me back. About an hour later, Sandy called and I told her I was having second thoughts about the dress. I knew there was no way to get a refund, but I assured her if there was anything they could do for me, I would appreciate it. Sandy said she would call me right back. About 15 minutes later, she did and had EXCELLENT NEWS!!! They agreed to give me a sort of store credit type deal. So I rushed up there and we sat down to look at the 2 dresses I originally tried on. I called my mom to have her meet me up there. She arrived within 30 minutes. I tried both dresses on again, as well as a few others. I have narrowed them down to 2 dresses and told them that by next week I would be back with my decision. THANK GOD FOR THEM!!!!
But really ladies, how dumb am I?? FEEDBACK PLEASE!!!! |

Wedding Dress
SO I HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE INTIMATE BRIDAL BOUTIQUE YESTERDAY.....
And it went very well!! I have always wanted a Maggie Sottero gown. I just adore her line. My mom and i ordered a catalog awhile back just to get a feel for what I wanted to try on. I was able to narrow it down to 2 dresses, and lucky for me The Intimate Bridal here in town had both gowns!!! I was soo excited. So we get there, they were so friendly and welcoming. I tried the first one on and both my mom and I were in tears. I tried the Second one and and my mom and I were in a huge puddle of tears!!. Sandy ( the gown specialist) came walking up to me with another Sottero in her hand. She told me to just humor her and try it on..
So i did. OMG. I don't know who was more speechless- my mom, myself, or Sandy!! It was breathtaking. You know when you see something on a hanger and it looks amazing, then you try it on and just... BLAH?? This was the exact opposite!!! When she brought i up to me, it didn't look horrible, I just never really pictured myself in that style dress!! We wound up purchasing the dress... of course since I am kinda short, it has to be altered. Once my digital camera is fully charged, I will post the pic!! For now, I found the dress in the catalog!! And when I showed my bridesmaids the gown, they all agreed to find a style dress similar!! |
