My shoes have arrived and they are perfect!! The flower on the side perfectly compliments my gorgeous gown and the color is the exact Hot Pink color I wanted! I ordered them off amazon.com, my first ever amazon purchase and it went great! They are a bit big, but an extra comfy insole and they are fantastic! I can't wait to wear them and have them pop from under my dress!!!

Hot Pink Candy Buffet...What candies and how much?
I need help coming up with candy suggestions for our Black, White and Hot pink candy buffet.
I'm finding it very hard to find PINK (not red) candy. I will likely order M&M's in our colors, Jelly Belly's, Peachy penguins (my fav!), scottish mints and.... I have 12 jars to fill and would like variety. Also, anyone know how much I should estimate needing. We are having 170-ish guest. Any good website suggestions to order it from? Or am I best to hit up the bulk section at the local grocery store? Thanks! |

Ask a Question
Ideas of where to buy flower hairpieces or silk flowers?
I want to wear a black sash with my dress and was originally going to buy one off Etsy, but because they go for $70-200 I was thinking I could make one for much cheaper.
I've been searching and searching for a flower/feather hairpiece I could attach to the ribbon but I'm having a hard time finding one I like, that is a) black (I guess black is kind of out of season) and b) doesn't look too cheap I have been checking stores like Claires here in Canada but nothing has caught my eye. Does anyone have any other suggestions for stores I should check? Or an american store, as I go there often? Or even a website I could order from? I'm looking for a ruffly flower, like in #1, the problem is they don't often come in black. I've thought about going for a white flower with black feathers on a black sash, I just worry the white won't match the white of my dress. Should I bite the bullet and the budget and just order one? |

Wedding Favors
For the love of Hockey!
Since my FH has played hockey his whole life and our 8 year relationship has been long distance as he followed his hockey dreams and career first to Ontario for 4 years, then over to Germany for the last 3, our wedding just wouldn't represent 'us' without a little hockey flavor.
My Aunt designed our monogram logo based on one I found online and made it into our wedding colors. We are using it on hockey pucks, which the opposite side will tell guests which table to sit at (I had the idea before Miss Carrie Underwood copied!!!), each guest is getting a rally towel to wave during our reception entrance like you would at a Canucks (or most other NHL teams) game and we are having the tables wave their towels if they want to get us to kiss, rather than the annoying glass tapping. Finally, we opted for wine at dinner and drink tickets for our reception, so my aunt has also made the drink tickets to look like hockey tickets, with different pictures of us on them to match our table numbers. |

Bridesmaids
It wasn't easy, but we made a decision!
How can someone possibly choose from the hundreds of thousands of BM dresses out there?!?! The options are endless. Though some are instantly eliminated without second thought, some trick you and though they are exactly what you didn't want, when they are on they are beautiful and you start re-evaluating your criteria.
My criteria was: black, floor length, no chiffon. Though at times I thought we were going to end up with short chiffon dresses...luckily we found something that met all my requirements. Coming to the final decision on the 'chosen one' was weeks and weeks of surfing, shopping, trying on, re-trying on, driving miles to different bridal stores. Finally I decided we would find and choice 'the dress' in a particular bridal store. So we narrowed it down to 5 then made up score cards to narrow our choices, though that didn't help because one girls favorite was anothers least, so finally I think the decision was made based on it meeting my criteria, a compromise for everyone, time crunch to get them ordered and just plain exhaustion from the constant, unsuccessful search. I know the day of the wedding all the girls will look fabulous in the dresses. Hopefully everyone is happy, comfortable and feels like a million bucks! After all, it isn't just 'my' day, because 'my' day wouldn't be possible without the 4 fantastic ladies standing next to me. Plus... you can always shorten it and wear it again right!!! Hahahaha |

Wedding Flowers
Second guessing... what color?
To say I was disappointed with by florist consultation would be an understatement. It is nothing against the florist, she is very lovely and tried very hard to find something to please me. The problem was every flower I wanted for our July wedding is unavailable that month.
I have always wanted peonies, and when we picked the date for the wedding I even called a florist to make sure we could get them I was told yes then, then no 6 months prior to the wedding... I can't change the date now. So started looking for a new flower that would suit. Next I fell in love with anemoes for their big black center that just pops, and goes perfect with our black, white and hot pink wedding. When I was told no for those, I went to my next new favorite, ranunculus, for their unique-ness and elegance. Again I was told sorry, but no! Finally we added up with flowers with the 'fluffy' feel I wanted and flowers that came in Hot Pink. My bouquet is made of white hydangeas, white lisinathus and accents of hot pink carnations and roses. The BMs will carry bouquets of all hot pink gerberas, carnations and roses which will hopefully pop beautifully against their black dresses. My dress is white, and I plan to wear a black sash. The boys are in black tux's with white shirt, black vest and tie. The groom in the same with a black and white damask tie. Their boutonniere's are hot pink roses. Here is my dilemma... I'm not sure I want pink in my bouquet. I need your help. Do i stick with what I've ordered? Or change to either all white, or all white with black (likely feathers) bouquet. I am just worried about the continuity between me, the girls and the boys if I change. |
