I had gone to the Bridal Expo in L.A. in February (yes, before my actual proposal) to get ideas and vendor information. I had walked by the David's Bridal booth and they were giving you $50 Gift Cards if you made an appointment to go try on dresses.
I said sure, thinking I would just go see what I liked - and had no intention of buying anything.
Well the day came to go try on dresses and after 5 dresses and nothing that I loved, our attendant brought one over. It was big and poofy and nothing like I had picked out, but I tried it on and loved it.
Here comes the BUT!
They had told me it had been discontinued, and they wouldn't be able to hold it for me. It was either buy it, or decide it wasn't my dress and continue my search and hope that I'd find a dress I like as much. Well...we ended up buying it.
I had tons of second thoughts, especially when the fall collection came out and I saw this gorgeous Oleg Cassini dress. It got to the point where I told my Mom my concerns. I was really really going through a hard time. Finally, I decided to put my dress back on that feeling of not wanting to take my dress off came flooding back - and the 10 lbs I had lost since the initial time didn't hurt either.
I do still love my dress and the thoughts of that "other" dress have been put to the side, even though it is an absolutely gorgeous dress.
I'm still concerned about the Tulle, and how easy it will be to manuever all that fabric around the dance floor, but I'll figure it out.
This morning I decided to go browse some more dresses and saw that my dress was still on their website - and it was cheaper! Now I'm wondering if the girl told me it had been discontinued just to make a sale and if I should bring it up to them to try and get the difference of the dress. Hmph...oh well!
