little bit of DIY's I've done...
Ok so ladies here is some of the stuff Ive done and finished this week.
My table Numbers, table chart, bridal party chart. Pictures are dark sry ladies. For the table numbers I used regular card stock. I went on line one night and found 24 of my fav quotes on love. and added them to the bottom of the numbers. I thought it was a cute touch :) Sorry the pictures are dark |

Growing guest list= Rental Nightmare!
9 days and counting....
Not that I even plan on getting married again but if we decided in 25 yrs to renew our vows were going to elope! Yesterday my mom and I went over the guest list a million times, finalised and went to our rental place and paid in full. Yesterday we were at 165 confirmed so I bumped my rentals up to 180 to be safe. We originally thought 220 but thanks to late rrsps we were at 145 and now a wk b4 and a day after paying for 180 we are at 199. My mom got a call from her sister my aunt saying she forgot to tell her she invited so and so (my moms distant cousins) to the wedding this past weekend at a family function my aunt had seen them at. My mom told her to call and politely uninvite them to the wedding and have them come to the after party. But apparently my aunt doesnt have their home phone numbers. WTF ?!?!?! Then I get home tonight at 11:00 pm and check my email and I had 4 couples (from same family) saying sorry for the late reply but we would be honoured to come to your wedding. Thank god we don`t have a caterer or it would be more hell! (My sis in law is doing it for free she went to school for it but is now an accountant) So now I have to come up with money for 3 more tables 20 more chairs and 20 more forks knifes etc. And I`m just hoping and praying the rental company will let me add them. Yesterday was the cut off for changes :s
So ladies my advice to you future brides round up way up!! and hopefully your rental company will allow some leeway just in case. My seating charts a mess with additions and deletions!!! I`ve had to start over 3 times. |

Holy sh*t 9 days! Stress meters up high!!!
And to top it all off I got fired from a really good job Monday. less than 2 wks b4 my wedding!!!!
They said it was because they need someone with better availability and experience. ( I have 8 yrs experience and was work 35-40 hrs a week for them)personally I think its because Ive taken time off for the wedding and its unconvincing them but there not allowed to say that because they hired me knowing when I was getting married and the time I would need off. They knew all the dates before they even hired me..... Im currently waiting for my slips and if they put "fired" on them oh man Im so going to the labor board. Because since its summer all the students have taken up the retail jobs in my area and there are no makeup artist, cosmetician available. So Im going to have to go on unemployment until i find something which wont be probably until September. Im very frustrated! And if they put "fired" on the slips instead of laid off it will make it soo much harder to get approved. Everyone says I should anyways. But I just dont want to deal with that stress too. Oh well hopefully Ill find something better with better pay. I guess its ok because its giving me a chance to get last minute things done since there is only 9 days left... wow i better stop typing and get going. |

DIY Wedding
Guest book scrap book and I DO letters!!!
Feel free to steal this idea.
I just wanted to check in on everyone see what you are all up too. Its been crazy busy. Just this week alone I work 44 hrs and have to meet with the photog, officiate, go dress shopping with my mom and pick out the guys outfits and get the marriage license. Oh and meet with the DJ!!! Almost forgot about that one. Eek I wanted to post my latest DIYs. I finished my I Do letters for the cake table and started on my guest book. I dont think I have posted about my scrapbook guest book yet so maybe I should. I went to the dollar store and got a pad of 4x5.5 plain paper. I also went to Michaels arts and crafts and got pack silicon wedding stamps and a black ink pad. Total cost was under $20!!! I than started to stamp every piece of paper on that blank pad, Ive done a lot of it while watching TV. Im doing about 250 of them. I have a sign that will be put on the table saying please leave us your hopes and wishes. Our guest can leave little notes, well wishes or advice on the papers and put them in a pretty box. When we get our pictures back were going to put them all in a scrap book. Hopefully we will be able to match some of the quotes with some of the quest pictures. If you havent got your quest book yet this might be a good idea. So far its been under $20 all I have to do is find a nice scrapbook to put it all into after the wedding. But thanks to waveschick2's blog on the Michaels 50% off coupon I might just go tomorrow and grab one. http://www.weddingbycolor.com/waveschick2/milestones/64783 let me know what you think! |

More Buck N Doe GAMES!
Hey ladies,
I found some more games that sound like they might be fun for anyone planning a Buck N Doe or Stag N Doe. So I hope this helps some of you ladies. Let me know if you have any game ideas!!!! Hope all is well :) Worm Insurance As invitees to the stag and doe are checking in at the front table you will display a container with glistening live fresh worms.(OK this is absolutely gross but it will provide amusement for the evening and an opportunity to generate extra cash) Everyone arriving will be offered the opportunity to purchase worm insurance for only $1.00. If they do then you give them a ticket that "states worm insurance. If you are asked by one of the hosts to display your worm insurance you provide this certificate of documentation then you will not be required to consume a worm. There will be the odd person that may opt out of purchasing this policy for the very reason of wanting to consume a worm in front of everyone. This is only recommended if you know your guests can stomach this concept. Take a piece of Bristol board and draw 50 squares on it and number them. Have people buy a square for $2.00 and write their name (first and last) on the square. Have 50 small pieces of paper already cut and ready, and then put them into a hat. When all of the squares are filled up, ask the DJ to pull a number from the hat. Whichever number is pulled... the person who's name is on the corresponding number on the board wins a prize. We often use a $25.00 gift certificate from the LCBO or local liquor store. Buy a Key-there was a box w/ a lock on it - you bought a key and if your key opened the box you got the prize in it (Im thinking Canadas wonderland tickets) "save the bride" or "save the groom" People donate to save either the bride or the groom. Whoever raises the most money gets to put a pie in the losers face. Free SHOT get a shot glass and place it in a fish bowl filled with water, and put it near the bar. When people go up they can drop in a loonie and the ones who get one in the shot glass wins a free shot Joker's Wild - Take a deck of cards (or two if you are expecting a large crowd) and tape them face down hiding the jokers as well. The purchaser then writes his/her name on the backside to the card. The winner is the person who's name appears on the back of the Joker. Scratch Card Board - Tape 10 popular scratch cards on a large piece of construction paper. Sell tickets to win the entire board. 50-50 and other draws - Using numbered tickets, helpers sell tickets to win cash or prizes. Generally pricing is one ticket for $!, three tickets for $2 or an arms length for $5. Loonie and/or Toonie toss - Place a bottle or alcohol on the floor a mark a line a good twenty feet away. The DJ will have people throw toonies or loonies at the bottle and the closest wins. For a challenge, make it the closest without hitting the bottle. Keep it going as long as possible. This can make a lot of moolaa. The Great Canadian Whack Off-. Need a tree stump, and a small little hammer and a whole pack of long nails. You keep a board with peoples names and how many times they 'whacked' the nail to get it in. $2 or $3 a whack. =) To Sing or Not to Sing: Place bowls or jars on the drink counter. One jar will be labeled to sing and the other Not to Sing. The object for your guests is to fill the jar with change to a certain line. If the line is passed with the to sing then the Groom or Bride will have to sing. You can also substitute the singing with some other embarrassing event. Some other ideas: Pay to Sing (karaoke required), Gold fish races, Prize Ideas: Surround sound GPS Timmys gift cards Restaurant gift cards Gas Gift Card Canada's Wonderland tickets (for Canadian Ladies) Dvd player or Blue Ray |

Ask a Question
Need help, Our Buck n doe on the 23rd!!!
Plans are coming together quite well for our buck n doe. The hall is book, games planned out, prizes started to be collected. The wedding party are the ones who started planning it and then just gave up. They had the hall booked but no one bothered to make the tickets and I was sick of waiting so I offered to make them myself. Than I asked if they needed any help with the games, signs, organizing rentals or etc. And who ever I asked about them they were dumb founded. They didnt have answers. And its getting to close. So i gave suggestions for games, prizes etc. I think they got as far as renting the hall and gave up. So here I am working two jobs planning my wedding and now our buck n doe!!!!! The hardest thing is the ticket sales. I think its the lack of interest from the people selling them more than anything. My mom has been the one who stepped up and sold the most. Totally unexpected! So I was thinking about making it kind of a competition. Give a prize to the person with the most ticket sales. Like a gift certificate or something to get their butts in gear. What do you think? Do you think it will work?
I made an fb page so I could give all our friends details about the party and who to get tickets off of. I think in total we have under 20 sold and theyve been on sale for 2 weeks now!!! Over 10 of those are from my mom! They arent expensive $15 a pc or 2 for $20. And my friends selling hers for $20 a ticket. So ladies do you think it might help get our friends butt in gear? Make it a competition? What kinda of prize should I use? I was thinking LCBO, beer store, or dinner out gift certificate. Tell me what you think, or if you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!!! |
