I have a question for all the brides out there that have bought their or their bridesmaids dresses of the internet,

I am contimplating buying my dress of line. I know money can be saved that way. but im scared that i might not get what i want. So does any of you that have bought of the internet have any advice for me? Suggestions to where i might look on line?

I have a dress that i love but unfortantly alterations for it would cost an arm and a leg, never mind the weight i would have to lose to fit into it. :S

So if any of you could help me out give me some advice would be great. Bridal shops around here are a dime a dozen and honestly they cheapest dress i have found that was just ok was $990. and thats not even with alterations. Im not going to pay over $1000 for a dress i dont love...

All we're going to buy is a soap dish----It goes without saying that
we're stopping at the cosmetics department, the shoe department, I need to look at a few purses, and those sheets would look great in the bedroom and did you bring your checkbook?

So last night I started freaking out!!! My FH and I started writing down the "To Do List" and OMG!!!!! I nearly started having a panic attack! We still have to go and finalise the guest list with his grandma. Thankfully that woman keeps everything so addresses should be easy to come by on her side. I was stupid and decided it would be fun to make my own invitations... (I no I’m crazy!) And by make I mean we are making the decorative paper for the invited. Here are the instructions i found on line on how to do it. http://www.ehow.com/how_3075_make-decorative-paper.html. I’ve tried it out once and loved it! But we need to make enough for a 100 invites :S Instead of adding glitter I added some fresh wild flowers like forget-me-nots and impatience. It looked amazing! So here is the list so far - Finalise guest list and get the addresses - Start making invitation paper - Find and finalise an officiate - Book and pay a deposit for the DJ service we already selected - Book the tent and the rentals for the reception - Cake Cake Cake and more Cake ( still have to disided what were doing:S) - Save the date cards still need to order - Engagement photos (for save the date cards) This is just the start to the list I have a yr thankfully but since we are having the reception on my parents farm so the rental stuff has to be booked way in advance to get what we want. And unfortunately the DJ we have picked books up really fast so that has to get done to secure the date. And the Cake, I still don’t know if I want a real cake or cup cakes or even to have them at all. We are having a candy buffet so the whole cake things still up in the air. Thankfully this weekend we are getting our engagement photos done so there’s one thing of our list. So I’m feeling crazy for stressing but I feel if I don’t get things rolling now everything will just get pushed back. I know there are certain deadlines for things like invitations and save the date cards. And i don’t want to stress 4 mnths b4 the wedding because i cant get the efficient or the DJ i want because i didn’t bk them in time. But than again I have never planned a wedding before, I’ve helped with them but never actually planned one. Give me a bridal shower, bachelorette party, Birthday party, Anniversary party, even a baby shower to plan and I can do it. When it comes to my own wedding and the things that go in to it, this is unknown territory for me! Hence the feeling panic attack coming on. And my poor FH wants to help but doesn’t know who what where when or how weddings work. He’s only been to one in his life and that was his sisters 7 yrs ago. ARRG Anyone else feeling the stress???

ok so im trying to post a blog with the music we had picked for the wedding and i had it all nicely spaced out and such than i hit save and it all piles together which makes it so hard to read! i tried it a few more times than gave up because it was really starting to irritate me! It was getting so frusterating! why is it that as soon as you hit save it piles everything together? is there anything i can do to make spaces? when i copy and paste it in its perfect and as soon as i save it it gets all pilled together!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have even tired to type it over again with out the coping and pasting to see if that would work and after over an hr of typing it out again i pressed save and it was all smushed together again!!!!!!!!!!!

Has any one ever had a spray tan? this last wkend we had a lawn sale and not even thiinking i wore a t shirt and no sun screen. I am so burnt!!! And I have our engagment photos this weekend and i planned on wearing a strapless summer dress. but now with these horrible tan lines I dont know what to do. I was gonna try and postpone the pictures until i could even them out. But the person i have arranged to do them for us can only do them this coming weekend because she is flying to the states for the rest of the summer for work. :S One of my customers at work mentions i should get a spray tan. I've heard mix reactions about the spray tan. (1) im afraid im to late its already tuesday and the earliest i could go and get it is thursday or fri and im afriad it might not set in time and come off on my dress. (2) If I sweat does will it like drip off? (3) what if it turns out orange :S (4) what if i look funny to tanned :S has anyone else tried to spray tan?? and if so how did u like it? I also know that Sally Hansen has a product out called airbrush its supposed to be for your legs but i dont know what else to do.... Any suggestions ladies?????

I had a future bride ask me a great question on my last blog and I'd thought Id share it all with you. She asked what she could do to insure that her make ups going to last all day, My best tip is to finish it off with a finishing powder. After you have applied your cancellers and applied you foundations always apply a loose powder finishing powder!! This will help keep the makeup on your face! I also have another trick to giving you that amazing glow! If you don’t a ready have one. After you have applied your blush, You can use a luminous Lotion to the top of your cheek bones. My fav is by Revlon bare it all lotion. It adds a romantic glow! I usually apply it softly to my temples and done to the top of my cheek bones to about the center of my eyes. I use translucent luminous lotion so it doesn’t affect the blush colour. Also if any of you are on you tube there is a lady who posts videos on how to do your make up. Hey all as many of you know I am a working as cosmetician and in school to become a makeup artist. Every day I work with so many products from Covergirl, Revlon, L’Oreal, Almay, Dermaglow and the list goes on and on!! IF anyone has any questions about any product just drop me a line and i will be sure to let you know everything I know about it and any experience bad or good I have had with the product. And If i don’t know much about it I will find it out as much as possible! But anyways the reason for today’s blog is I found an amazing mascara! Its new to shelves here in Canada and it’s by L’Oreal. It’s called Carbon Black telescopic. And I am in love!!!!! I have tried every single mascara we sell in our store and none of them do the things this little wand does! When I first pulled the wand out I was a little surprised about how small it was. It hardly had any product on it and it wasn’t a regular black brush. Normally I’m a little leery of plastic wands mostly because it hurt when applying to my lash line with other brands. I was pleasantly surprised with the way the wand seemed to hit every lash! Perfectly coated the lashes and didn’t make them clumpy or apply to much product. I hate how all brands claim they lengthen and thicken the lash and all that happens is a clumpy mess! I don’t know about the rest of you guys but I can’t live without my mascara and I would recommend this mascara to anyone!!! Let me know if you have tried it or are going to try it!! I would love to hear your feed back!

I felt so much better about getting that all of my chest! ive been holding it in for so long! \Im greatful for this site;) Us guys are really great!!! thanks again. So my Fh sat me down and last night after he got off of work and told me that at dinner he want to talk to his parents and he needed my suport with what ever he said. I agreed and asked him what he was planning to say but he wouldnt tell me at this time he didnt quite know himself. So dinner came and we were all sitting at the table and he started up the converstation with his dad again about moving to calgary and b4 his dad could put him down mike turned to him and said "I know you might not agree with this decison and might not think we can make it out there but I rather go and say i tried it than sit at home and wonder what if. dad i know what you about to say and i appericate that you care enough to tell me the truth but im 21 now and i can make my own decison and weither we dicided to go or stay i want that to be our dexcison becuase this is our life and our future" his dad didnt same much but "ok I respect that" than the kicker is he turn to his mom and said " Mom I love you and i appericate all the things you do for me but im not a baby and you dont have to go out of your way to try and please me. I can do my own laundry and out it away myself but i might need help with the ironing" she wasnt impressed at all! but he told her she had to get used to. he also told them that weither we stay in ontario or go that we will be looking for our own place. Im sitting right beside him just speechless mouth wide open. I couldnt believe how mature he was being! and how well his parents were responding. usually around them he turns in to a kid but this time he was calm collected and really cool. he amazes me every day and today i was so proud!!!! oh man how much i love him! :D :D :D thanks again ladies for all your kind words and support! you are all great :D

First of all I would like to say Thank you to all the brides who commented on my blog last night! I just wanted to answer junieya question for why we don’t get our own place. The reason is we moved in here with the idea we were going to save up some money before the wedding. My Parents are fronting most of the bill for most of the wedding. Mostly because it’s at their house and my dad won’t let me pay for any rentals or the efficient. The only thing he let us pay for so far is the DJ. My parents aren’t well off my any means but my dad is very smart with his money and very much a penny pincher! We have lived with them for almost a yr and yes we have been saving money. But their negativity towards their son is really starting to get to me. Sometimes I feel like stepping in but I know that would get us nowhere. I’m thinking about taking Mike (my FH) out to dinner tonight so we can talk with out other ears listening in but a part of me is worried about the other opinions clouding his views. And I’m still livid about them wanting us to postpone the wedding weather we go or stay. It’s not like they are paying for any of it. They have never offered money just their opinions on how things “have” to be done. Oh and the fact that they think their are what holds Mike and i together HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! And I cant understand why they think Im pushing him into everything. Thats so not the case. I think they are just scared that im taking their son away, well they still have his sister. Ones better than none right?? and mikes the one who mentioned to me he was thinking about applying and at first i wasnt sure if i liked the idea at all theres was a chance they could come back and say it was for him only and i would have to stay here. and also the idea moving that far away from my family my mom and dad :( but i supported him and when the job offer actually came in and i saw how much he would be making and that they were offering that he could take me aswell i was game! no more convincing needed. When we lived together on our own we had our little spats but we would always kiss and make up by the end of the night. We never went to bed mad that was the rule. Now we have been fighting atleast once a wk about his parents. Weather its how his dad is putting him down or me down or bad mouthing my parents(who are supposed to be their best friends) or his mother who babys himself and his sister. She will do his laundry fold it put it away and hang his stuff in the closet. She feels she can just go in and rearrange everything. One day she switched our dressers. My clothes were in his and his in mine. Her reasoning mine has deeper drawers he needs the space. Like WTF?!?!? She’ll even go down and re-make our bed after i have already made it. She’ll strip the bed down totally and start over again and there isn’t a crease to be seen anywhere! She’ll go into our shower and have all the bottles with the labels facing out. And there’s been many times she’ll throw whatever out even if there’s a little bit in it. She has thrown my toothbrush out because she needed it to scrub the shower and she figured i didn’t want it back after that. Well thank you for not putting it back but common! Oh and my fav is the fact she has to clean with bleach. There’s been so many times I’ll be getting ready for work can smell bleach and not know where its coming from lean over the sink to look in the mirror and i get the bleach line across my stomach. At one point i told her i was going to put locks on all our doors and she said she would just break them down. I have learned a little though if i smell bleach ill take a white towel and wipe all the sink down and the floors if there still wet. And I have now learned to close doors out of site out of mind right. Some times it works most of the time it doesn’t. Last night i ranted about his dad and here is a little rant about his mom nxt im sure ill be ranting about him! Lol jk I just know its safe here they don’t know about this website. He knows about it but he already knows to a certain extent how i feel. Thanks for listening guys!

Ok so here is my first real bridal rant. And I am sorry in advance that some of might not make much sense but i have to get it off my chest. I just want to scream and cry and jump up and down pulling out my hair right now!!! I imagine it would be quite the sight to see because i have been holding in alot lately.

So let me tell you a little about my life right now. I am currently living with my FH and his parents and his older sister and her husband and their daughter. All under the same roof! Luckily it’s a pretty big roof where we all have our own living spaces but share the kitchen. If anyone was going to tell me they were thinking about moving in with their in laws i would tell them they are nuts!!! My future Mother in law is a control freak and her and her husband are very much afraid of change. (Mikes sis is 31 and still lives at home with her husband and child) shortly after moving in with them I had realised they had never thought their children how to be independent at all! His mother insists on doing everyone’s laundry she even packs My FH and his sis lunches for work. Like common!!! It’s not like they are Polish or Greek where it is customary. Their parents are just afraid of change. So much that they taught their children the same!
My FH has a job offer to work in Calgary for almost twice what he is making here. They hook us up with reasonable priced living courters ($900 for basement app. $2000 a mnth if we wanted a whole house) and its 6 wks on 2wks off and they would fly both of us home and back again. We don’t have children or a mortgage or anything tying us down here so why not go??

So we got both sets of parents together to discuss this with them, this would mean either moving up the wedding or postponing it. And my future father in law literally laughed at us saying we couldn’t we wouldn’t. He said that we wouldn’t last 6 wks out there, and that he and his wife are what hold mike and I together. This is so not true! They are the root to most of our fights lately. Oh and to top it off while we were on the subject of the wedding that he thinks we shouldn’t rush into things and postpone it anyways for a few more yrs!!! Like WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!? Its not like we have only been together for 3 wks and we plan on getting married nxt mnth. We have been together for over 3 and lived together for 2 of those 3 yrs and the first yr of living together we were at the place i had on my own b4 him and we had no problems living on our own! Plus we have grown up together. My dad was literally a groom’s man in their wedding, and they got married at 18 yrs old!!! I know mike and I are young (21) but i believe we are old enough to make our own decisions, oh my dad was not happy and i could go tell my mom was holding her tongue! The funny this is that his mom piped in saying that this had to be one of my ideas and i was probably trying to make him do this so i can pop out some kids!!! Like seriously WTF!!!!! Kids are the furthest thing from my mind. The main reason why I’m so gong hoe on it besides him making good money is its the perfect escape from this house!!!

We were thinking about going down for 2 yrs saving some money and coming back and have a healthy down payment for a house. Plus we would have the memories and he would have the experience and would be very useful in his field down here. Yes we would miss our families but we’d be back every 6 wks for 2 wks. We have done the prone and con games and our heart was almost set on this, until his dad got in his head and told him he can’t. Mike looks up to his dad and takes what he says very seriously some times to seriously!! Now Mikes dead against going at all!!! It just kind of broke my heart. I know we can do it and i know it wont be easy but i would rather go and try than sit at home and play the what if game for the rest of our lives! On the other hand my parents said go for it! they`d even store our stuff until we came back.

his dad is always so negative putting him down and telling him he cant do anything :(

Why can’t his parents just be supportive like mine????

So My Fh and I have decided to get engagement photos done this summer at my parents house. I know we have over a yr until the wedding but i really want them done in the summer in the place we plan to marry. Plus I'm thinking about using one on our save STD's :D Im having a really good friend come down the 22 of june to do them for us. So i started to get excited and started to do a little search over google on poses i like and such So I posted a few i love!! and would try and recreate:D

How many of us are having these done? And do you plan on using them for anything else but save the date cards?

Also I was thinking about wearing a little white dress in my photos and have him in jeans and a button up shirt??

Yea another blog about flowers lol I made an insperation bored of all the flowers im thinking about using.... Im skipping the whole florest step and going streight to the sourse a flower farm thats in the nxt town over. It'll cost me when all said and done under $300 for all the bouquets botiners and fresh flowers for the tables. and i have over 21 tables!!!

I love the idea of having feathers in my bouquet but i am going back and forth on it, Mainly because I found on another brides blog the idea to have to 2 flowers in the bouquet spereated and easy to pull out. and when just after you hug ur dad and he goes back to his seat you give him one of those flowers to give to your mom on ur behave, and than as you are walking back down as husband and wife you stop at your mother in laws seat hand her one and hug and kiss her. I Love love love this idea!!!! And Im sorry I cant for the life of me remember the bride who posted it. Ill try and find her again and give her some acknowledgement.I think If I do do this though I will wait until we are both walking down the aisle and give it to both our moms together that way i can hug and kiss my mom aswell!!!! anyways will it be to much with feathers? I want Gerber daisys what other kind of flowers would look good with gerber daisys? or should i just give them a daisy?

Im starting to like the idea of a bouquet of colourful roses and feathers. like have 5 pink 3 orange 2 white and 3 yellow, than pink feathers than give the moms one of the white roses. and have the girls carry those rose ball things (forget what there called lol) anyways guys.. Feed back please!!!

Can you fill me in because im totally confused!!!!

I know this might be a little hillbillyish but we are serving our guest drinks in mason jars! My aunt has over 300 and was going to try and sell them in her lawn sale but i hinted that i was looking for some and she gave them all to me.
Well we are getting married on a farm! I no we were thinking about having a theme but i nixed that idea because I think that where we are having the ceremony and the reception it might be hard to pull it off with out going over the top.

So now we dont have a theme. We are just going to make it colourful! Which I figured would be perfect considering we are getting married in a garden in front of a pond. I've been looking for dresses for My 2 MOHs and I cant believe the selection they have now. Im going to let them pick there own dress and a bright colour that suits them . im sure i already know which colour they'll pick Danika Loves aqua blue and Erin loves Lime green. But you never know they could surprise me.

Mike still wants to wear pin strip pants and a wallet chain and a fidora but we'll see. Im thinkin a Dark pair of blue jeans and a nice white dress shirt with a gerber daisey boitanier. But we'll see im sure his mom will have a fit like always.

i am still doing the candy buffet and the quest will get little boxes to fill (not the ones I posted before I cancelled that order since the colours and theme of the wedding has changed) and they will also get a little bag full of flower seeds. I had seen on a web site that they had them in a brown paper bag with a little poem on the out side and a fake gerber daisy attached to the top and they were charging $6 a peice!! Looks like a perfect DIY project. My Mom has her own landscape company and im sure she can hook us up with some seeds.

We are still renting a tent Because Our barns way to small for 150+ guest So we are thinking lots of white twinky lights and coloured tulle and colourful hanging lanterns from the roof of the tent. My parents have old wine barrels and an old wooden horses carrage that will help with the decoration. Our Linen will be white but will have bright coloured runners. and Im also trying to think of centerpieces. Do i just do fresh picked flowers in old white vases and candles? I found a few pictures i like that i will post. Also does anyone know a recipe for sweet tea? Ive been looking on line but they just dont sound right,

Is this normal to be chaning the wedding plans and colours? I figure we have plently of time.. the down count is still 398 days.

I will still wear the dress i bought and I do still plan on buying one of the ones i posted for the recepiton.

I just wanted to post a few pictures of my Ceremony Dress.
You cant really tell but the back has buttons all the way down to the train. Its also strapless... and When i first saw it I fell in Love.
Just one Problem its a size 8 and i am ...well not anymore.
So todays going to kick off the first day of my diet.
I have about 50 pounds to lose!!!!!

Hopefully I can take the dress in not have to try and take it out or have to buy a new one.. Got it for a steal! $25 at an auction for Goodwill. So If i had to buy a new one it wouldnt hurt that bad but I really want this one!!!

Any one know of some good tricks? Im trying not to stress out about it and do this the healthy way. Please feel free to leave a comment with any good tricks or ideas to help me kick start ...

So were having an outdoor wedding and have rented a tent big enough to comfortable sit 200 ppl. I want My wedding to be full of colour and im loving the idea of having hanging colourful lanterns.

The wedding is on my parents farm :)

SInce I am getting married on a long weekend and I am having a hard time deciding what we should do. I am thinking because it is a long weekend in the middle of summer people usually have plans.
Do I send out save the date cards out? or do I just send the invites out earlier than normal? I dont want my guest having to change plans to go on a summer trip because they got the invite to late.
I know wedding invites regularly go out 2-4mnths in advance but when do you send out Save the Date cards? If I were to send out my invites say 6mnths in advance could this save me for the added expense of STD cards? Or wil my guest most likely forget and by the 3mnth to mywedding and make plans anyways...

ARG!!! some one help me please!!!!!

As you know im toying with the idea of having a candy bar at my wedding. And giving the guest little gift boxes to fill with candy as part of they're favors. I think I found the perfect favor boxes on ebay!!With the perfect colours and everything:) and whats even more exciting i found a few of the fancy dishes and the thrift stores around town for cheap cheap!!

The boxes i found on ebay for 100 for $55 including shipping.so i bought 200.

And than i went around to a few craft stores in town looking for those pretty jars with the lids. different types and sizes i think would look awesome. And holy crap EXPENSIVE!! I went to michaels arts and craft store and they were asking up to $80 for some. I nearly had a heart attack and was trying to figure out a solution. My mom is very much into thrift stores and some times she finds some really good treasures. Well she said she had seen a few a while ago at a value village and i thought id give it a shot. I picked up 3 with lids and all they need is a good washing. I just hope i can find like 20 more lol For the 3 i bought i spent $15 and i also bought a 50s style hair comb with diamonds and such.
But i was thinking I could also use some pretty tall vases... I dont know that might look funny

I have been thinking a lot lately about the wedding and the people who are involved. We are not having a "traditional" wedding by any means. Well i guess there are some traditional elements but I’m trying to keep it unique. I have to Maid of honours. Danika and Erin. I have known these girls my whole life and couldn’t just pick one. And my FH has two Best Men Robert and Marc. These are the people that will be standing at the alter or in my case in front of the pond with us.
Than we have the "brides maid and grooms men" My 2 Older Brothers Richard and Ryan and Mikes Brother in Law Steve. Than we have Richard and Ryan’s Wives Sue and Abby And Mikes Sister Tara. They are very much part of the wedding but due to the small space in front of the pond where we are exchanging vows. They will walk down the Aisle together than sit in the first row with the parents. I am also considering not having a head table.
I was thinking of just having a table in the middle of the tent reserved for Mike and Myself for the speeches. I don’t know how many Weddings I have been to that they are never seen at the head table except for speeches and the little bit of dinner that they get to eat. We are having a buffet that my aunts are making for us. (explain that later) But we have asked that during cocktail hr while everything’s getting set up that they will make us some plates and we will have our own little private dinner. I know this is usually the time we are to mingle with our guest but we are just considering it as an alternative for now.
Any Ideas???

So as i am starting to get my guest list together i had a hard time organizing all the addresses and keeping them in order and alphabetical.
I'm an organized NUT!!!! and this was really starting to bug me.
and my mom happened to hand me her old addresse book to get my aunts addresse from and Wala!! I had it i went streight to the nearest dollar store and picked one up.
So now my guest list is in order and alphabetical i couldnt be happier. I just thought I should share this with all the other brides out there. This is the perfect time to start collecting this information. Were inviting all our friends and family and this is something we will useful even after the wedding. (perfect for christmas cards, Annocement anything you could think of) Plus now a days they even have a spot to put email addresses.

Seems like im on this site 3 or 4 times a day just looking at the other brides blogs and really you guys have some amazing Ideas.
I find myself checking in with fabulousmrsklein`s blog atleast once a day. She has amazing ideas that yes i am ``barrowing`` Like the music player yep I got the idea from her.. Theres a few things i would love to know how she does these things. She has a really cool pink backround on her page and I want and cool back round to!!!! i just dont know how to do it:(
