Do you have a Wedding Planner??

I am pretty self sufficient when it comes to getting things done and don't like to pawn stuff off on others. But wouldn't it be nice to have a "helper" or "wedding maid"?

I have an awesome wedding "designer" -- she is designing my invites, programs, save the dates, card box and who knows what else. I think I would be lost without all the help she has given me.

Now as far as the wedding day goes...there is a wedding coordinator for that day. She will tell us where to be and when and hopefully all will go well.

Do you have anyone like this to help you? How are you doing with your wedding planning?

Hi there!  I love doing things myself as well, however I know that on the day of the wedding my focus should be on enjoying; for this reason we hired a Wedding Day Coordinator, she will take charge of everything on the wedding day, and she will make sure that all those things I am working so hard for come to life.

I think a person like this is very necessary as I am doing a lot on my own (menu cards, programs, candy buffet, etc) and I don't want to have my wedding party working more than what they already are.

I have a wedding coordinator, not a planner.

Like you, I am very capable of getting things done and planning my own special day.  I even took several classes in Wedding coordinating at the community college.

Like you, I have to work and have a life.  I do need help with making sure I am on target, not overwhelmed, and a person who is my go-to especially closer to the day (she is damage control).  

We meet once a month and go through our check lists together and she helps me when I need it.  She is NOT a designer nor my planner.

I have been to weddings where the bride is STILL running stuff in her GOWN-- that's a no-no-- that is your day to be a Queen, not a servant.

Whether it is a professional, or a friend who is organized and you trust, you should think about getting a coordinator for your rehersal and your day-- It is such a GREAT investment!!

I guess I had never thought about a day-of person...but it really does make sense.  I had just planned on doing everything myself...although not that much, but enough to probably cause me a little stress and not relaxing the day of the wedding.  BUT my mom is planning to come out the night before the wedding (it's at a B&B 4 hours of where we live) and my aunt will be there too....she said "you can't do all that by yourself..you are supposed to be relaxing"  :-)   SO I think a Day-of person would be a great addition to anyone who can use it.

I sort of wish I had a planner because there are some things that I just don't feel like doing. But I can't afford it. And no one else is going to do it, so I guess I don't have a choice.

We didn't hire anyone professional to help us with our wedding. It's going to be fairly small (about 75 people or so) and pretty low-key so I'm not *too* worried if things don't go exactly according to plan. Had it been a larger event with more detail involved, I would have considered it. I have also been fortunate in that up until this point, I have had a flexible work schedule, so if I had appointments or wedding-related stuff to do, it could come first if I chose. So time, or lack of, has never been a concern. Lastly, I have AMAZING friends (two who are newlyweds themselves, and have recently gone through this whole process, and one who is also in the midst of planning her own wedding) who have been great with helping out, lending stuff, and sharing awesome ideas. I think the day will go smoothly without the help of a coordinator for me.
