This is blazergurl05's Purple Wedding!

We OFFICALLY booked our honeymoon to Negril, Jamaica. We are sooo beyond excited. It will be two months after our wedding because my fiance is a school teacher and still will be in school, but ti will totally be worth the wait. We are hoping we get most of our honeymoon paid for by the honeymoon registry. =) 8 day and 7 nights here we come!

Sorry Ladies I have been gone for awhile. I have been so busy; I barely have time for sleep. I haven't had any time the past couple of weeks to do any planning for the wedding so I feel really far behind. However I picked up my shoes from David's Bridal. I had them dyed regency and they turned out PERFECT. I am so excited.

A little news about FH and I:

We both got a full-time job.

I will be working as a recreational therapist and my last day as a student is Friday, then I have a week off for vacation, then I start the job on the following monday.

My FH got a full-time health teaching job at a middle school. We are so excited to have found full-time jobs right out of college and in our field!

The only thing that sucks is we will be living 2.5 hours away from one another. We are doing it because it gives us exerpience, and we are able to save and pay off some of our student loans. It's only short term but it still sucks.

I found a duplex to move into which I am doing next weekend. It's two bedrooms, 1 bath and 950 sq feet. I hate living in apartments and I wanted a room just for our wedding stuff. lol. Plus it has a fenced backyard for our dogs, since I will be having them during the week. Luckly my parents and his, live in the middle so every weekend we are going "home".

Starting in August after I get my comcast stuff set up I will be on here a lot more. With moving, doing my last min. presentations for my internship, and going "home" every weekend I have no time. But I promise I will get back on. I love hearing all the advice and giving my opinions to you ladies.

THANKS AGAIN

So this week I have been busy... trying to find a duplex since I have to be out of my apartment on the 31st of this month. I hate living in apartments. lol

Got some of my bridesmaids gift this week. I can't share it with you all people one of my bridesmaids is getting married and has an account also. lol

Got my wedding ceremony shoes, well I bought them and they are being dyed regency... can't wait to pick them up.

Yesterday my mom and I put the deposit on our catering! So excited... we are having the:

We also went wedding shopping at Michaels; I got a couple of things for our invitations and our unity candle holder.

Todau my bridemaid and I are going to Joanne's and doing more wedding shopping. She is getting married right after me. It's a lot of fun to have one of your best friends get married the same time as you so we can exchange ideas and have fun shopping... and not get sick of it. lol

I know this has nothing to do with weddings, but I thought I would share it with you ladies anyway. I am in my 13th week of my internship out of 16. After my internship I have to take a national exam to become certified (which is scheduled for October). A week ago one of the certified therapeutic recreation specialist (CTRS) put in their 3 week notice. After she put in her notice her supervisor asked me if I was interested in applying for the job; of course I said yes! It's very hard to find a job as a recreational therapist in Washington. So I applied for it and had my interview today... not more than an hour later she came down and offered me the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited- I’m not even certified and I have a job!!! The pay is nearly 40% more an hour then I have ever made. It feels great to be done with school, have a full time job Monday-Friday and receive benefits! I feel so fortunate because I know there are a lot of people struggling to find jobs. This will look great on my resume too when I look for another job down the line… got hired right out of my internship. =) Things are just falling together and I’m so thankful
AND
My dad comes home from Iraq the 5th-7th of July. Once he comes home we are going to have a welcome back, graduation, (fiancé’ and me), and getting a job party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so I have been stressing over what I was going to do for catering and whether or not it was worth it... well I contacted a couple of places and asked for written proposals. I got the two that I asked for but I really wanted the one that was MOST expensive of course. I contacted the lady and explained my situation and how my friend referred me, and she was like "oh she is realted to my sisters husband." i'll see what I can work up. See emailed me back within one day... and dropped $1100 off. =) She is giving me the food 1 dollar cheaper per plate, FREE Champagne, Sparkling Cider, & Crystal Champagne Flutes for our toast (passing/picking them up), .50 off washing dishes per plate, and cutting and serving our cake for FREE! I am SOOOOO excited. There food is amazing too! I can't believe I stayed within my budget for food AND even got thrown in a champagne toast. Oh and it's for 150 guests!

-How long did you date before you got engaged?
6 years 2 months and 3 days. haha

-Did you get the ring you wanted?
He had me pick it out. =)

-Was the proposal a complete surprise?
The acutal proposal was a shock; but I knew he was going to ask me because we had talked about it many times.

-Do you wish you had a bigger/smaller diamond? If so How big or small?
No I like the size of my diamond; anything bigger would just get in the way and be annoying. My ring is perfect for me... that's why I picked it out. I could have gone bigger, but didn't want too.

-Did you cry when he proposed?
Not right away... I did when I told my parents over the phone though.

-Was the proposal romantic or creative?
It was very romantic and creative. He bought me two dozen roses, made me a poster, had candles lit, and music playing. ?

-Where do you want to go for your honeymoon?
Me: Jamicia; Him:New Zealand

-Are you buying his wedding band for him?
Yes.

-Have you gone over your original wedding budget?
After figuring out what stuff actual cost for a wedding yes. But not over the budget my parents are providing for us. We just have to pay for our own honeymoon.

-What day of the year will your wedding be?
Saturday 4-23-2011

-What kind of weather?
Spring weather. Hopefully not pouring down rain though (but then again I live in Washington. haha)

-Inside or outside?
Inside.

-Church/justice of the peace/other?
we want an Officiant who is non-demonimational.

-How many people will be there?
Inviting 175ish... hopefully only 125 show up. haha.

-Time of day?
Evening.

-Any kind of theme?
Purple, silver, and damask black.

-How many bridesmaids? Who would they be?
One maid of honor (Anna) and three bridemaids (Sarina, Shellene, Kelsey).

-What kind of cake/what will it look like?
I have a picture in mind. We may also do cupcakes. Have to talk to FMIL because she is making our cake. She is a wonderful baker!

-Where will you have the reception?
South Sound Manor.

-What kind of dress will you have/color/material?
White, lace, strapless. See picture from previous post.

-What kind of flowers in your bouquet?
I think I am having purple flowers and my bridemaids are having white. Or mix them up... not sure.

-Kind of wedding bands?
I am getting a wrap. Have it picked out already.

-How will you wear your hair?
Good question. I know I am getting hair extensions... curling them.

-Who will be important to be there?
My FH. haha. Everyone that we invite is important... but the most important person to me in my mom and dad. I couldn't have my wedding without their love and support. I have an amazing set of parents; i'm one of the lucky ones.

-Will the reception be big or small?
I'd say medium sized.

-What will the groom wear?
Tux

-How long on Honeymoon?
7-10 days.

-What will you do?
Relax and enjoy the sunshine.

-Will it be modest or costly?
Modest for a wedding but costly to me.

-How old will you and the groom be?
Me: 23
FH: 24

-How long will you be engaged before you get married?
14 months.

-Live together before or wait till married?
We've have lived together since senior year of H.S. We have done roommates, lived by ourself, and done long distance. This relationship will last a lifetime!

-Take a long time to plan the wedding or will it be simple?
I think all weddings take awhile to plan for... especially if you want all the details.

-Will you do it yourself or with family or hire someone to plan the wedding?
Wedding planner is already booked. It has been excellent so far, great advice/helper!! One thing I know for sure is that the day of I don't want to worry about a thing! And she even got the nursery taken care of for the ceremony. =)

-Will you write your own vows or use something pre-made?
I like something pre-made. I'm not the one to talk in front of people and poor my heart out. I'll do that behind closed doors. I am thinking about getting a puzzle and having him make it before the ceremony and I am going to write how I feel on that.

So I already have one flower girl (my god-daughter). But today I got an email from my FMIL and she talked to her brother. They have two children... boy and girl. They said they would love for them to be apart of the wedding!!! So I am excited to finally say we found our ring bearer. I had been worrying about whether or not if we would find one. Since I already have a flower girl I was thinking of having two because I don't want to leave his sister out. I was thinking the ring bearer can be in the middle of the two flower girls. I'm so excited... and they are so adorable. =)

How many people have an odd number of flower girls/ring bearer. Do you think it would be weird to only have them three? They are really young...

I know this has nothing to do with wedding planning but tomorrow we leave to head over to Spokane for graduation (he was student teaching and I was doing my internship). We both are graduating from Eastern Washington University. It's crazy that we both graduated from the same high school and now college. I made a promise to my parents that if I met the "right guy" I wouldn't get married till after school and now I can say I kept my word. Although it was really hard; we did it. =) He got his bachelors in Physical Education and Health (teacher), and I got my bachelors in Therapeutic Recreation.

I'M SOOOOOO EXCITED LADIES.
