This is boydgardner's Pink Wedding!

I have a wonderful bag put together for my girls... Their bags are canvas bags with their names embroidered on them with a butterfly... staying with our theme. Inside they will find t-shirts I made for them as well as flip flops I made for them. The flip flops are lime green with hot pink and green strips of fabric tied onto the straps. Too cute! We will wear them at the salon on our Girls Day. I'm so excited. Their bags are filled with their jewelry for the wedding, bath and body works fun stuff, and souvenir wedding program, personalized bottle of water, and special gift. I realize that they might not get a program in the midst of everything so to help them out...

My little girls (5 total) also have bags. Same stuff in them as well!

So, my little cousin is fascinated with Build-a-bears... SHe has been begging for me to allow her build-a-bear to attend the wedding. She went so far as to get the bear a dress that goes with our theme... It has a pink dress with butterfly wings for God's sake! SO, then I got the idea to have bears on our gift table that represent us. I have one for me and one for my FH. His is so cute... it looks like a mini him in the same Navy dress uniform! Aww.

My tiara is so pretty! I can't believe that both my tiara and jewelry have butterflies in them! YAY!

They are so adorable!!! I fell in love! I am now officially finished with my wedding attire! Yay

I just finished putting together 150 little packs of tissue for the wedding. I thought this idea was so cute. I have them in clear vellum envelopes with silver hearts. The envelope is sealed with little silver "G" monogram stickers for our last name. On the front there is a little sticker that says "for your tears of joy"

My mother is my best friend. I believe that she always imagined that she'd walk me down the aisle on my wedding day. I really never wanted her to play "dad" on this day. She has done so for so long... this dayshe should be just THE MOTHER!!!! My mom's youngest brother will walk me down the aisle. When the pastor asks who gives this woman... I want my mom to stand and say "I do." At the reception, I am going to surprise my mom with the Mother-Daughter dance... she thinks I'm gonna dance with my uncle. I know this will make her cry. She deserves a special spotlight... The song will be "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler. This song has a special meaning to my mom... I can't wait!!!

At the end of our ceremony we will be jumping the broom!

Jumping the Broom

Broom jumping is most famous as an African American wedding custom.
During times of slavery, slave marriages weren’t recognized as legal or binding.
Broom jumping was a symbolic act within slave communities for marriage.
Today, the ritual is done as an act of remembrance and to honor the
ancestors of the past.

Being that we have many different ethnicities at our wedding, we have a decription (like above) in our program...

I have two ring bearers. Each will carry a pillow, one representing the bride and one for the groom. On my pillow I will have a HUGE ring... I think it will make people laugh... but it is soooo ME!

Being that I drive a HUMMER it only make sense for me to be in one on my special day!!! Plus, our wedding party is huge... 24 people in all. So we can all fit inside and enjoy the luxury!!!

I think I may do the lillies with white or light pink daisies

My hunny is currently deployed... Lucky for him he is M.I.A. while I'm planning the wedding of my dreams!!! Just kidding, I miss him dearly. I never really realized how important it is to be able to hear someone's voice or to smell their scent. I know that this deployment has and will bring us even closer... The United States Navy may have my soldier but I have his heart!!!


Update: He came HOME on April 25. We have been busy ever since... We just had our engagement party this past weekend... A Tiki Luau!!!! Lots of fun!

I have purchased all of the materials for these. Mine will be alternating hot pink and apple green... I love them!!! They are time-consuming, but so worth it if you have the time... I will give myself a few months to cut out the paper for 150 programs... My wedding is outside so it will serve two roles... Cool, huh? Aylee is awesome!

Each bridemaid has a pink and green parasol. My mom has a solid pink one. I am ordering a white lace one... We are having a small "second line" parade at the end of the ceremony. All of my bridesmaids will walk down the aisle half of the way with the parasol over their heads, and then they will meet their groomsman, lower the parasol, he will hand her her boquet, and they will walk down the aisle together the rest of the way... We will see how this works.

The groomsmen will be in this tux with the azalea colored vest and tie. This style is courtesy my beau!!!

Let's just say I have the smallest finger on earth... barely a size 4!!! I absolutely LOVE my ring...

We have 2 flower girls. They will be wearing white leotards and white tu tus. Their shoes will be little silver ballerina shoes. They will look like little butterfly fairies! Instead of flower petals, they will throw butterfly petals. And, rather than the traditional flower basket, they will have a cute little butterfly net.


Update: My mom found the cutest princess dresses! They are made like long tutus... They are beautiful. Plus, they look more elegant than the previous idea!

My colors are hot pink (azalea) and apple green. These are my two fav colors! We are getting married at The Butterfly House. Therefore our theme is butterflies! They will be incorporated into everything...

My beau and I have an entertaining relationship. He is such a character, random at times... I was taking a shower and he bust into the bathroom and yelled out that he had to talk to me. I responded that I was busy shaving my legs (a little personal, huh?) He said that he had to talk to me right then. He then opened the shower curtains and said he had to talk to me. I told him to give me 5 minutes to finish. He asked me would I marry him... thinking that we had already established that we were getting married, I responded with "you know I will marry you, but I won't be able to if I don't finish shaving my legs" LOL. Then he climbed in the shower with all of his clothes on... he said my entire name and asked me would I be his wife. I then turned around and noticed that he was crying. I was no longer oblivious to what was going on. I started crying. He then said, "Will you be the mother of my children?, Will you be my "sugar moma?" I responded with YES! We then stood there in the shower him fully clothed and soaked, and me with shaving cream everywhere! We then went and picked out my dream ring!!! (Sigh) I can't wait to tell our daughters this one story one day!

My cake will look like the cake with the butterflies "flying" up the side and around the cake to the top like the white cake with the many butterflies. The colors will be bolder than in the pic though. I will decorate my cake table like the 4th picture.

Update: I ordered my cake.., the butterflies will be tinted lime green and hot pink. The top of the cake will have hot pink and lime green gerbera daisies on top to match the centerpieces.

I haven't decided on the exact flowers yet. I would like to have something bright and bold. I like the hot pink gerber daisies, hot pink roses, cala lilies...

I am a 100% DIY bride! I am happy to announce that I have decided to embark on the DIY journey. I am making my own invitations, programs, and matching thank you cards. They will look like this one, except where the light pink paper is I am using white linen paper.


Update: I am 85% complete with this project!!!! YAY!

I am going to do the limes and hot pink flowers... My theme is butterflies so I am going to place silk butterflies above the flowers as if they were hovering above the flowers. Each table will have a different species of butterfly (yep, I'm a science/biology nerd)

Update: We decided against the limes b/c our wedding is out-of-town and I didnt want to worry about making all 15 centerpieces at the last minute... Instead we have pomanders made of pink and green gerbera daisies with butterflies "flying" above the flowers! My mom is making them... Thank goodness.

This was just as simple as my dress... Quick and painless! I am so happy! I have 3 bridesmaids and 1 Jr Bridesmaid. They will all wear this dress with silver shoes. My maid of honor will wear the dress in kiwi...

I knew this was my dress from the time I saw it online... I went to try on dresses, grabbed this one and two others. Let's just say I never tried on any others. To make things even better: NO ALTERATIONS were needed! I am a 0(zero) petite and it fit perfectly! YAY!
