This is brandyntravi's Pink Wedding!

I know that all sounds pretty strange but we are originally from Rexburg, Idaho....which is where the wedding is going to take place. We have been living in Tucson, Arizona since the 9th of February because he is stationed here until the end of June. So we are taking vacation and going home....we are both completely and utterly STOKED!!!
While we are home I get to see some of the fun stuff that I have ordered for the wedding that had to be shipped to my mothers house as well as get fitted for my dress, get my bridemaids taken care of, get all the fun trimming for me, get the groomsmen fitted, get w/the florist (my aunt), the cake lady (his aunt) and get to see my invitations (made by his other aunt), find an officiant, find a photographer and any other details that I have not been able to do from 1100 miles away!!
Fair warning....I'll probably get "post happy" when I get back cause I'll wanna share all the new stuff w/all of you so make sure to check me out in about 10 days!!!

In my last post I was so excited because we finally found bridesmaid dresses and I wanted to find a better picture of what they actually look (or are going to look) like because the pix I had were really back cause they were off a phone.....so here it is.
The dresses we got are fuschia pink w/a top juz like this picture.
They are actually flor length but we are having them hemmed like this one to a tea length dress because it's going to be a hot summer day and both my girls wanted it shorter...and I agreed!!
So there you have it....we finally have dresses, they fit, AND everyone agrees!!! YAY!!!

So my best friend, BJ, is my MOH and my sis, Heather, is my other bridesmaid. Heather's two lil girls, Kaianna and Oakley, are 2 of my flower girls and my lil brothers daughter, Hailey, is my 3rd flowergirl!!
I'm super excited. All my girls are gonna be perfect for the role...I love them all so much!!!
OH!! And I'm totally excited to announce.....WE FOUND BRIDESMAID DRESSES!!! Finally...after a mess of dresses and prices and a gazillion stores and sites....we did it!!!
(PS: sorry the pics of my sis in the bridesmaid dresses are so bad...they are off my mom's phone)

I had no clue where to even go about finding the actual "flower balls" in the photos that I have seen so I figured I'd attemp YET ANOTHER DIY project and I think it turned out swell.
I bought all of my flowers at the dollar store and used other supplies that I already had because I'm kinda a crafty person.
I also finished tying the ribbons on my lil pales to hold the candies at the reception and think they are too cute!!

Yeah...I found it at Sportsmen's Warehouse of all places...AND there's actually a silly story to go w/it!
A week ago we went into Sprotsmen's to get some stuff for Trav and I happened to be wandering around their knife and gift counter and stumbled across this set of jewelry....so I asked the gentleman at the counter if I could look at it up close and he said that'd be fine he juz had to find a key for the case....no big deal....he comes back w/a hand full of keys and tries EVERY one of them...none of them worked. He had mentioned he thought they'd lost this particular key but he juz kept trying keys. Meanwhile Trav had caught onto what I was doing and looked at the set and FINALLY agreed that he liked it a lot too. Finally the salesman was out of keys and still couldn't get it open so I told him I'd juz come back another day and thanx anyhow.
So 2 days later Trav went into Sportsmen's to pick up a couple other things and my jewelry set...as a surprise....so he told them what was going on and had the guys search for a key and try to get it opened. Strike two!! They couldn't find a key so Trav juz left it at that.
Well Trav told me that evening what his plan was and that they still couldn't get into the case and all....so I was bummed...and a lil peeved...that's kinda a bad deal!! So the next day I called the stored and talked to the guy at the counter (a different guy) and told him what was going on and that I really wanted the set and asked if there was any chance that they could get into the case at all. He was like, "sure...I use to pick locks....an old preacher taught me how....HAHAHA!".......I was a lil shocked at that statement but strangely stoked at the same time. So like 2 minutes later he called me back and said I was welcome to pick up my jewelry any time and he had gotten it unlocked!!! So we drove straight over cause Trav was afraid they'd sell it after all that hassle lol!!!

I have looked all over for what I'm thinking for my makeup and I have finally found it!! I actually got it out of a magazine and scanned it so I hope it's not too terrible to focus on.
It's juz a natural hue w/pink tones....It juz looks so......PRETTY!
I love it...

I know, I know...it seems like I'm doing everything on my own now...but I believe I am hopelessly addicted to my DIY projects.
I juz have so much spare time!!! :oD
These are for my flower girls gifts...I made each one to match their dresses but also unique for each girl!

So we have decided on a photo mat for the guest table but I wanted a BIG one...not the small lil 11x14....let alone I wanted it to be unique and specifically US...so what better way to get what you want....than to do it yourself??!!
I wanted to incorporate some more of his pride in the army w/out going overboard on it as well as creating this giant "place for love" from everyone...here's the outcome.

So we changed our mind on invitations...much like everything else it seems.
We have decided to have the invite itself printed on vellum paper and have our engagement pics printed on card stock which the vellum paper can lay over....and then held together w/heart shaped paper clips.
It was some what of a DIY seens how I had to come up w/the layout of our pics and what not by myself....I juz hope it all works out in the end.
I have pic of what it is KIND OF going to look like...there will be a couple of improvements when we actually have them printed...but you should be able to get the idea. :o)
I am also going to attempt posting a couple of our engagement pics.

I have officially done my own DIY!! Yay me!!
It's actually for the guest table....it's a pen/marker holder.
We decided we didn't want the fancy lil silver pen sticking out of the slab so I created a lil "pen arrangement" juz for fun.

So I have finally made flower arrangements with my aunt...who is in charge of my flowers. We divied up how many of everything that we will be needing...bouts, bouq, arrangements, etc..
I'm super excited for the flowers..I LOVE FLOWERS!! I've always had an obsession for flowers and I even took a floral arranging class in college so I plan on helping my aunt in creating all the floral arrangements, bouts, bouq....I'm super stoked!!
My bouquet will actually be a LOT like the one shown but we will be adding white hydrangeas.
The bridemaids will be all green and white but w/differnt types of flowers mixed like mums, roses, berries, etc.
The groomsmen are going to have pink hypercium berry bouts and the fathers and my grandfather will have green hypercium berries.
The mothers and grandmother's are going to be mixes of flowers so they are each unique.
We are going to make GIANT pots of potted flowers and greenery to place on the porch and next to each side of the alter.
For the archway we will be mixing ALL of the flowers and greenery with white tulling!!
Down the isle there will be white, pink and green pales filled with flowers hanging from white hooks.
I have an image in my head as to how I want it to look and I'm sure it'll be completely different but I don't care...I'm juz super excited to have fun with the flower!!!

So how many of you other brides have the tradition of wedding quilts??
Everytime someone in my family gets married my grandmother has always made them a quilt. Its actually a super common tradition all over our area.
Well for my lil brother when he got married my grandma had already somewhat retired so I actually made him and his first wife their wedding quilt.
Since my grandmother is still "retired" I'm thinking about making my own. I think I will do it similar to the one shown but my question is....
Will I be over doing myself trying to get a quilt made in 3 months?? I don't work right now while we are living in Arizona until June and I have A LOT of time on my hands but I am afraid I might stress myself out if I start any more projects. What do you think??

So I have narrowed down my cakes. Travis' aunt is going to be doing our cake and he is going to be calling her tonight so we can discuss what we want so I decided to make a few decisions so she is not bombarded by all the ideas that I liked!!

I'm pretty sure I'll do white w/pink or green or both colors in swirlies or juz lil squiggly designs and I have decided I really like the square look and 3 or 4 tiers.

Ok so I bought the CUTEST bright pink flip flops to wear during the reception so that I can dance...but now I have a dilemna. I had planned on wearing heels during the ceremony so that I'm not *flip flopping* down the isle.
Well should I go w/my original plan to wear colored heels as well or keep it simple and wear white to keep from over doing it??
I like the white ones shown but I REALLY love the pink ones.
But which pink ones??
Do I want to go cute and chick or sleek and feminine??
I juz don't know.
Can't I have them all?? Hahaha!!

We agreed!! I think I'm going to celebrate this day!! We (my sister and I) actually agreed!!!! On a dress! What do ya think?? Our second attempt. My sis is going to order them tomorrow. I'm excited...again! I think both girls will look great in these. I hope!!!!

So the dresses came. I have not seen them but they were ugly enough in person that my 9 year old neice expressed to her mom her disgust.
I'm bummed. I juz can't win. I haven't hardly done anything as far as wedding plans for like a week or so. I dunno what's up. I haven't really been in the spirit cause it seems like things keep blowin' up in my face...such as the dresses that were a pain from the beginning anyhow!!
Anyhoot...if any of you have any good UPLIFTING advise I would DEFINATELY appreciate it!!

So Trav's mom called me asking if I wanted to use my centerpieces at the luncheon which she is holding at her home. My centerpieces all have candles in them and water and blah blah so I told her I'd think of something simpler for her...well I did!! She agrees that this will be perfect and even said she'd go ahead and watch for the stuff to pull it off!! She's my hero!!!
(In shades of pink...of coarse! ;oD)

So I had planned on creating my own sign in "mat" w/juz a single photo like they typically come but I found this on another bride's page and had a spark of genius. I'm still doing my own but I do believe I'm going to have to do several pics like shown. Woohoo!!! How fun!!

So this is the dress I want and we tried ordering them but we may have some sizing complications so we'll see. We were going to order them in the lighter green shade but if we really do have sizing complications then we are going to get them in pastel pink which I think will be just as great!!
I'm simply crossing my fingers that it all pans out!! :oD

Pink it is!! Yay!!

So I'm so excited about the tents. We got them rented. The reason I say "them" is because we had to get two because I'm not positive that one at a size 20x30 ft will be big enough for 150+ people so we got 2 to be safe. We rented chairs and tables along with them and....of coarse....a dance floor!! I'm psyched about that too cause I'm big on dancing and Trav has even said it'll be way fun. We are not going to stand in line...we are going to have fun. Everyone dancing and juz mingling...it'll be great!
I ordered the paper lanterns to decorate with as well...I was going to juz get pink and green but I decided to go w/different shades of pink and green and white as well...I really think they will be festive!!
I have also decided to grow a green thumb. My mother and I are going to buy some VERY large pots and plant green and pink flowers in them to set at the alter and other places around the tent. I think they will be so cute!!
It'd be great if any of you have any other ideas as well so feel free to leave me some comments!!

So I think I have decided I want the girls bouquets to be all greens....and the guys bouts to be pinks. I dunno that I'll do everything the same...pretty sure I'll mix it up a bit juz for fun!

So all THREE of my flowergirls have really pretty long hair. I am so excited to style each girls hair like this!! It's so cute and dressy but soft!! They are gonna look SO PERFECT!!

I'm beginning to feel like a "bride lingo drop out".
Can anyone tell this ding bat what DIY is???
And can someone also tell me what the sand/candle ceremony intails?? I have never heard of those before.
I'm feeling kinda dumb here!!

So I'm a little bummed about my girls dresses and what not. We can't seem to find a shorter length dress in the bright fucshia/pink that I like for both of my girls that we can agree on. My sis needs a modest dress and BJ has comlete opposite tastes with my sis so I'm kinda stumped. I found some on a sight that we have agreed on but they only come in a sort of mauve pink (like the ones in the pic) or light pastel pink. I'm juz afraid that not having the bright pink dresses will be too dull...I'm sort of looking for something a little more bold....but I don't really know what to do. Everyone keeps telling me it's my wedding and do what I want but (1) I can't afford to go all out (2) I want my sis and BJ to be comfy so they aren't tortured the entire day!!
I'm simply looking for something formal and more of a tea length. My sis needs formal but I think BJ would feel better in sleeveless so I actually need two styles in FUCSHIA...that's not way hard is it?? Well when ya throw in the AFFORDABLE part it is....I guess??
Help...I juz don't know what to do and it's stessing me out pretty bad...I really think my sis and BJ are ready to tell me to stick it.

So I had it all planned out that me and the girls were going to all wear the same shoes...the cute ones that I had posted earlier...but NOOOOO I went in to puchase mine and they are too cream colored...they'd totally clash w/my WHITE dress!!! Now what?? I loved those shoes and I can't seem to find anything like them online. I'm a lil bummed! The girls are still wearing the shoes.
My question is...what do I wear now??
I want heels that are AFFORDABLE and fun...not juz plain white heels cause I want to be able to wear them again. I have looked around a little and have found a few I KINDA like...but I juz can't find any I LOVE...HELP!!! Please.

I wanted something to incorporate Trav's pride in the national guard and i'm insanely obsessed with precious moments...well...I found the perfect, perfect, perfect cure and it came in the mail the other day!!! :oD
I also ordered our servers and flutes and am super excited about them!!

I am only having 2 bridesmaids....My best friend BJ and my sistere Heather. They both have completely different styles. My sis's dress will probably be a more modest simple dress whereas BJ's dress will probably be a lil fancier, that's juz her style. ;o)
I told them whatever they want is great with me as long as they are both the same shade of bright pink!! I'm excited to see what they come up with!!

My hair is naturally curly and so to save time and hassle I pull it up a lot but I really love my hair down and flowy....it's juz killer to get it that way. But that's how I would like it...down, full, curly and juz FLUFFY!!! :o)

It's officially official!!
It happened this evening!! Quite the surprise but it was so perfect!!
I was cooking dinner and had juz finished spilling potatoes all over the place and was cussin' and ramblin' bout it. Travi walked outside for what I thought was to have a smoke and when he came back in I was mashing away at the potatoes. After a minute I noticed him behiind me (sorry bout this part) pinching at my rear end so I swatted at him and told him to quite w/out turning away from my mutilation of the danged potatoes!! Well he porceeded w/his annoyance and when I turned around to "let him have it" much to my surprise he was on one knee holding the ring that he had told me that I needed to change my mind on because of jeweler complications. What can I say....I was stupified!! I juz stood there with butter and potatoes all over my hands and stared at him with his big coy grin. There was quite the moment of silence and when he went to put the ring on my hand all I could say was "But I have butter on my hands"...he juz smurked and said "who cares" as he slipped it on. I tried my best to act cool but it wasn't working...I had tears in my eyes and my hands were shaking like something had juz scared me to death. It was perfect...in my eyes.

I have to laugh at myself...I have far too much time on my hands since we moved here to Arizona because I have yet to find work...but it's a lil hard cause we are only here for another 3 months. Here's some proof that I need a life!!!

These are similar to the dresses that we have for the girls. Kaianna the oldest is in a light green dress w/the eyelet fabric. Oakley is in a light pink dress w/the eyelet fabric. Hailey is in a dark pink dress with the eyelet fabric.
All three are different styles but all by the same designer and all out of the same eyelet fabric...they are so adorable. And the shoes....well I couldn't resist!!!
We have already tried dreses and shoes on all three girls...how exciting!!!

We have yet to decide on what we want to do as far as a photographer...I have a few friends that are in the business but I also do wedding photography on the side so I really don't wanna burden my friends w/my nit picking so it's still up in the air!! But I did find some shots I found interesting ;o)

Yes there really are 3 flower girls!! I have 3 young neices and they are all dying to throw the flowers....anything to keep them happy!! Let alone we don't have an option for a ring bearer so why not fill in w/more flowers which they will actually be throwing from little pastel pink and green pails that we have found!!
Trav's tux will not be black...in fact he's not giong to to be in a tux at all. He will be wearing his class A's (I call them his army greens). That's where the inspiration of shades of green came from!!

I love these...and they are affordable and sensible!!! Me AND my girls are gonna wear them!!! How fun!!!
And of coarse I have to have shoes that I can dance all night in and juz be relaxed!!!

I really like these ideas w/some tweeks. Trav's aunt is doing our cake so I have the advantage of "GUIDING" her as to how we want it...exactly!! :oD

Big white tent w/drapes of balloons and white christmas lights everywhere!!! How much more romantic and simple could it get!! I'm so excited to see my parents yard with a giant lit up tent full of all the people we love!!! COOL!!

The dress shown is the closest thing that I could find to my actual dress....(of coarse in white though).
There are 3 layers down the back of mine that are about the length of the one shown and up the back it laces up.
Ther front is a lot like the one shown but white also...hehehe!!
There is white embrodering throughout the entire dress as well w/a few pearl beads here and there in the embroidering.
Whoever thought of putting color under the dress like this is an absolutes genious!!! I love it!!! I'm SERIOUSLY considering it!!!

Nothing more...nothing less. This is the one we felt fit the "laid back" theme of our entire special/fun day.

We finally decided on a ring. While I was home in Idaho and Trav stayed here in Arizona last week my mother and sister and I found THE RING. It's so perfect and I'm mad about it!! I think Trav is juz glad I finally made up my mind hahaha!!
The picture looks a lot like it but the main stone is a tiny different cut and there is a band that matches that has corelating emerald and princess cut stones half way around it.

I want our flowers to portray a softer somewhat country effect and these few I hav found are somewhat what I'm looking for.
I definately want lots of shades and hues in the floral arrangements...lots of pinks and some greens and a dash of whites!!

At this point everything seems so jumbled around and bass akwards we don't really know what we are doing...

He has not proposed yet but we are getting married, hopefully July 26th. The reason there is no ring is because I can't make up my mind and he insists I get EXACTLY what I want....which is understandable.
Although, to me, a ring is simple a symbol of what we really share.

We started looking in early January after we survived xmas and all. We found a few rings that I really like but we knew that we would be moving to Arizona from our small town of Rexburg, ID soon so we decided to wait so that we could look around there. No luck. So far I have found nothing. My hopes are still high even though the propsal is traditionally the first step! LOL!

We are planning to have the wedding and reception at my parents home in our home town. My parents own a 5 acre feild on the snake river and it is always so beautiful and green and just peaceful so we thought it'd be the perfect setting.

Our colors are actually a dark olive green, (the color of the army's dress greens) and pastel and dark bright pinks and the theme is, of coarse, a soft country feeling.

I have it pictured in my head as all girls always do but now it is simply a matter of finding all the right things to tie it together the way we have decided it should be.
