If you are sure, a year is not to soon. Especially if your are going to go with a Maggie Sottero I'm told and have read that they have a lengthy shipping time and are notorious for being late.

I also ordered a Maggie dress I placed the order first weekend in June and the dress shop just confirmed that my expected delivery is 2nd week in December

I work in a bridal salon that carries Maggie. They aren't Notorious for being late actually. It must be the shops you are ordering from. We have never, ever had a late shipment. In fact they are always ahead of their estimated shipping date. But one year ahead is not too early. I bought my dress back in March, and my wedding isn't until June 25, 2011. I have this very same dress. This dress takes 12 weeks to get in. But if you were in a time crunch, you could have it rushed inless than 12 weeks, and this is one of their more popular dresses. I had one bride who ordered it in size 8, they had it in stock, and shipped it the very next week. Maggie is great to work with! If you bought it from a store that is telling you they are notorious fo rbeing late, that is them just trying to put it off onto Maggie and blaming Maggie for them ordering later then they should have!

I bought my Maggie dress 18 months before the wedding.  Mine is the Harper & very similar to yours, which is beautiful by the way!  I'm a normal size 10 and have been for 25 years, so I even went ahead & had my alterations done (only 2 small tucks) 6 months in advance.  Here's some advice.  Stop looking at dresses after you make your purchase.

is it true that she discontinues her dresses very early?!  I mean I really love this dress but I am not getting married until march 2012 and I am afraid to order the dress and it looks old or dirty after a year and a half!  SO I would want to order it maybe in march of 2011! I just want to know if she discontinues a line after so many months!!!!

She doesn't discontinue early. Just like every single designer line, they decide if they want to carry it over into the new year's line. Sottero & Midgely brings out new dresses every spring. This one is a platinum seller (which means one of their most popular), and will most likely carry it over and be available for purchase next year as well. It won't look old and dirty if you keep it in a bridal bag. I just wouldn't want to wait passed June of 2011 at the latest.

I just bought this dress on November 12th 2010 for my May 2012 wedding and the consultant said it definitly isnt too early especially since I ordered a petite size 8.  Love this dress it fits so well even on my athletic frame.  Never will look at another dress again :)

I totally fell in love with this dress... even cried when I tried it on, wanted to wear it hom it is sooooo beautiful. I am also a size 8 petite with an athletic frame, I can hardly wait to see the look on my fiances face when he sees me in it. Bought in August 2011, wedding in late March2012. they said it would be in by Feb 2012. Dont worry my love, this dress is THE sexiest, classiest dress out there
