DIY Wedding
Card Box

Ok so sorry it took me a decade to get the completed pictures up. Had to get my digital out of FH's car =) So here it is!! Its now all nicely wrapped up in a trash bag in our "wedding room" Luckily I have a large apartment and already have a bedroom full of wedding supplies! Not only did i pick up the vases last week at Michaels, but i went to hobby lobby and got our mirrors for 50% for the reception tables!! Saved me 100 bucks! So now my card box goes along with my other supplies stacked away!

i have a 3 bedroom house so our 3rd bedroom is my wedding storage room...... did you paint the boxes???? can u please let me know, i am really wondering how people cover round boxes

I painted it because I do not like how spray paint looks. I didn't want to use paper or fabric because i don't like how that looks either. I used gloss spray on top of it to make it shiny and to "shield" it. If you look at the middle black box in the make picture (double click to make bigger) you can see the card slot. I used an exacto knife to do this which make it easy to cut nice even lines. Then I put black shiny beads around the card slot edges. I have a pink light that is glued onto the top of the black lid so that at the reception it will make it look pretty shining through the card slot and so people can easily see where it is. I glued all boxes except the bottom pink one so if some cards cant fix in the slot the whole thing can be lifted to where the bottom of the pink is left to just put them in. Also to get the cards out when we are through.

hey! thanks 4 ur reply. Right now, i am so excited. Earlier today, i found a card box made by Martha Stewart. It's slightly round and white in color. Probably on Monday, i will go to hobby lobby and find several other boxes to create a three- tier ensemble. I will keep your suggestions hand to assist me with this DIY project.  :)

This is such a a cool card box! It is really a challenge to prepare for your own wedding but hey you're happy right so no problem! I was just looking around blogs and thinking if what kind of card is good for invitations then I stumble upon this blog and I say to myself I know I can do it! Thanks!
