This is bridet0be's Pink Wedding!

We met with the person who is going to do our cake yesterday and she was so great! I showed her pictures, including this one and she loved it and said she could def do something very close to it, without using fondant (which I def didnt want).

I thought this cake was so beautful and totally fits in with the french, antique kinda look i am going for. I cannot wait to see how it turns out.

The only problem is the topper on the cake. I need to buy this to make it look similar to this cake and I will just put real pink flowers in it.

Anyone know where I can find something like this cake topper? I dont even know what it is ?? ha

Ok, this is a minor detail, but that’s what I’m all about, the little details!

So, as wedding favors I am going to put together chocolates in brown boxes with gold ribbon. I want to have a tag attached to the box, but I don't want to just have a monogram or wedding date on the tag.

I would like to put a cute saying on it, like "Love is Sweet" but maybe a little longer that has to do with chocolate and love, marriage, ya know?

I had my first bridal shower last month in Rhode Island, which made it interesting because had to plan everything from Florida and we arrived in RI only two days before the shower.
I had it at my aunts summer home on a lake, it was georgeous!

Everything turned out great! We had to move inside because it had rained all morning, so it turned into a cozy shower beside the fireplace.

. ...and got free shipping because it was in New England. I would definitely recommend them for buying large quanities of flowers, they have great prices and having the flowers shipped is very convenient!

All in all, the food was great, the place was great, and the company was great! Couldn't of asked for a better bridal shower!

This is why its a good idea to keep a good relationship with your venue coordinator and to ask a lot of questions and let them know your concerns........


My receptions site is beautiful, Crowne Plaza Oceanfront Resort & Spa, def the best place around!
It has two rooms; the grand ballroom which is a minimum $20,000 on a Saturday night (out of the question for my venue/food only budget!) and the St. Lucia room which is min. $10,000 on a Saturday night but can only fit 118 people. We went with the St. Lucia room. So I have been happily planning away!

Well... today i was talking to Lauren, the coordinator@ the Crowne Plaza and asking her for the third time how many people max can I fit in the St. Lucia room and she said 118. But then she was like, "well if you really want to invite a few more people I could get you into the ballroom at no additional charge"

decisions decisions.....haha. I still have to talk to my fiance but I think I might just switch just to have a wedding worth $20,000 for only $10,000!

I love Lauren and she has been so patient with my millions of questions and is so helpful!

Keep asking questions ladies! You make get more than you paid for :)

I was losing hope in my inviation search because all of the invitations I actually liked were at least $400 for 100!!

I accidentally stumbled apon these while I was shopping for other wedding accessories. I could not believe it , they are exactally what I wanted...brown, pocketfold, inexpensive, and super cute!

The only down side is that I have to get them printed myself and def dont want to take on that project ... knowing me i'll mess them up.
Im gonna have to start looking around for places that will print them.
All in all I am really excited about these, here is proof that finding fabulous, inexpensive invitations is possible!!

~Our reception will be held at the Crowne Plaza. It is definitely the nicest place around (believe me cause I checked them all). It is newly renovated because of the 2004 hurricanes so it is immaculate.


~The cocktail hour will be outside on the deck, only about 50 feet from the ocean. The view is breathtaking!

~Following the cocktail hour, the reception will be held in the St. Lucia room, which is the second picture. I love the colors in the room and all the windows make the room unique to all other rooms I looked into renting..

Our ceremony will be held at Harbor City Bapist Church. It is the Church Waylon grew up in and his family still goes there so we will get the hook up there, they will realllyyy help out, set-up, clean- up , etc.

PLUS, we will be having an "open reception" immediately following the ceremony, in the Church fellowship hall. This means we are having TWO receptions, back-to-back!!
We are going to have a simple buffet , we were thinking pasta and salad, we are not going to do any traditional wedding stuff (cut the cake, toss the bouquet) and Waylon and I are only going to visit guests for about an hour here. A couple hours later our "private reception" will start at the Crowne Plaza.

~I was hesitant to do the two reception thing, but because our private reception will only be 118 guests (close friends and family) Waylon wanted to be able to invite some of his clients and other friends. I agreed, so we are gonna do it! I thought one reception was stressful enough to plan. This should be interesting...


Is anyone else having two receptions? How are you making it work??

Ok, I was going to do the harvest gold silk bridesmaid dresses BUTTT I went to a bridal shop yesterday with my MOH and she tried on the harvest gold dress it was so so.... but she tried on this taffeta Vintage Bronze dress it looked great!!

The woman at the bridal shop did not have the exact dress I want in this color so she is going to order it, but the color couldnt be more perfect!

This is the dress here but we are going to take the rose on the hip off and bring up the hem to just below the knee.

also....it is def lighter in person and has a lot of sheen to it! In this picture it just looks like silk, but if you know taffeta it is very reflection and beautiful! Very Fall and Vintage ... I LOVE IT !

PLUS....the dress is only $128!!

This is my favorite part of the wedding. There will be flowers EVERYWHERE! I want the arrangements to be big and gorgeous.

Blush Pink, Cream, and White Roses

I love the way roses look - full and clean, symmetrical and classic!
The bouquets are def going to be just roses and no green.

For the centerpieces I'm going to probably add some other flowers with the roses..maybe hydrangeas...

There will be 12 tables at the reception..
~6 will have tall candelabra centerpieces
~6 will have short flower (tightly bunched roses) centerpieces in glass box vases.

All tables will have at least 6 small candles around each centerpiece and flower petals scattered on the tables!

I know this could be taking on too much work but I really want my invitations to be unique and I have searched through sooo many different websites of invitations and have yet to find some that are what I want without be over $1,000!! INSANNEEE..I cannot understand spending that much on invitations, has anyone else spend that much??
the 3rd picture is of invitations that tmela808 make and they are beautiful and the kind of look I am going for but I do not know how i am going to make the designs, i might just have to buy photoshop. any advice?? ...cause if i am going to take on this kind of project i need to start asap !
