I'm asking A LOT of questions. . I guess that's what happens with 11 days to the wedding! I have AWESOME gifts for my bridesmaids but totally overlooked the groomsmen. . our budget is very small. . . . what are you getting for the groomsmen? Keep BUDGET in mind :)

My flower girls are pretty young. . the older is four and the younger is 23 months old. What kind of gifts can I get for them that they would actually like/understand?

Also, if you are making an itinerary, do you have an example? My wedding is weird because the ceremony is late - 7:00 at night! I'm a weird bride.

Wow - 12 days to go. I haven't blogged lately because we've been really busy, also because some people left really negative comments. It's not really fun to participate in a blogging community where people would leave a comment just to be rude. People need to watch Bambi again. . . "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

Anyway, my dress arrived the other day from Chrys Cross Bridal, and it was not made to my measurements. I guess that's what you get from going through an online vendor. It was a foot too long! It is going to cost me $130.00 for me to get it shortened when the site boasts that all dresses are made specifically to measurements. When I asked the owner if she will be reimbursing the money, she said no. . so I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Needless to say, I've been waaaay to busy to blog. I'm too busy out being trendy, ha ha. If anyone actually read this, they would know I'm anything but trendy - I mean, geeze, I'm a librarian by profession - how trendy could I possibly be?

We are having favors at the wedding of water bottles with labels (in the Alabama heat, it will be much appreciated) and at the ceremony we are having seed packets - trying to be green. We are also doctoring up the bubbles we bought at Micheal's. Has anyone else used the water bottle favor or seed packets? What do you think?

We are also doing the personalized CD favors and FH made some awesome CD inserts which I will post when he saves it as a proper file :)

I'm not sure what to do for the processional, for the bridesmaid processional, for the bridal processional, or for the recessional.

Well, I have a vision of what I want my hair to look like. I want ribbons wrapped around and a small tiara - I actually have a perfect picture that I tore out of a magazine but these photos are close. For make-up, I'm going to do a smoky, dark eye with light everything else. I want funky/fun/natural-ish. If that makes sense. :)

Who are all getting married on 8-8-08? Where will you be getting married and at what time? What were your reasons for picking this date? 8-8-08 unite! :)

The pictures are from the website. There is also a really great website called A Practical Wedding. It's awesome for those of us who are: creative, thrifty, sane, and not willing to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on one day.

I have a multitude of family issues that I am dealing with:
My parents are divorced. Unfortunately they aren't the type of divorced parents that can get along at family events. They hate each other. They scream at each other. They act immature. I've already asked them repeatedly to act mature and normal for just this one day, but now my mom is saying that she's not going if my dad will be there. It just goes to show you that all my parents care about are themselves, really. They are both invited and I want them both to be there - they are my parents! My mom is using money as an excuse, but I am offering to pay for her accomodations at our destination wedding, so she's just being spiteful I think. She also refuses to call me or answer the phone, she only talks to me through email.

My two younger sisters are not participating in wedding planning at all. I found out yesterday that my youngest sister is planning on going to a play in Bronson, Missouri the weekend of my wedding instead of my wedding. When was she planning on telling me?

My other sister refuses to go if her ex boyfriend is there, who just happens to be one of FH's groomsmen and best friends.

Also, when my family gets together they are loud, they fight, they are opinionated, they are mean to others, they are judgmental, and generally not the most fun bunch to be around. My Future Hubby's family is going to think my family is crazy!

The wedding is only 45 days away and I want my family to be there, but they are making it really difficult. Should I just grin and bear it? Or should I tell them to do whatever they want? I've already tried to accommodate them any way possible. Does anyone else have difficult family issues?

Here are the things I am inspired by!

So, part of planning a wedding in less than two months is trying to keep everyone posted. I have five bridesmaids who knew we were getting married 8-8-08 like a year ago and have not really been of much help since. . . . They argue over dresses and now it's too late to really get fitted for anything so I told them to go wherever they want and get a blue dress as close to Tiffany Blue as possible. MOH is insisting on a different colour dress so she can stand out, and my two sisters are saying that they don't have enough money for a dress at all. I would buy it for them but I don't have really enough money for that either, but I said they can even go to flippin' Walmart and get a sundress for all I care. . .

What do you do in a situation like this? I'm worried that they won't have dresses or don't even care about the wedding. . . my MOH isn't even returning my calls or emails! I know she works, goes to school, and visits her long-distance boyfriend. . but what should I do? The picture is of the dresses we originally picked out but now have fallen to the wayside. . .

Sorry, I'm frustrated about this.

We're not having a wedding photographer. It's any easy way to cut out $2,000 dollars or more right there. My questions are:
1) what do you think
2) any suggestions?
3) are you also avoiding a wedding photographer?

Cake is another thing that FFIL is totally taking care of. FFIL lives in Alabama and is picking out: the venue, flowers, reception, cake, and helping out with our honeymoon hotel!! I know, he's awesome and I'm super lucky. So, since our colours are chocolate brown, Tiffany blue, and pink, I want a cake that colour. I actually am thinking about cupcakes too. I also want a s'mores bar like I've seen around - those are pretty awesome. Where do you get them from? Any suggestions on cake, cupcakes, and s'mores? We're doing the stacked Tiffany boxes, although I have other inspiration in case the cake lady needed a plan b. I also want to get a grooms cake - are any of you planning on doing that? What is the tradition behind the grooms cake? Is it just something the groom really likes? I get confused by wedding planning easily :)

My future hubby created and designed our invitations! They're not done yet because we haven't decided on our location yet! :0 I'm getting nervous. Any northern Alabama brides out there that have suggestions?!?! Anyway, our invitations are going to be off the hook. These are a fake version, and we changed the red heart and text to pink to match our colours. Suh-weet.

We are using Gerber Daisies as our flower. I don't really like blue dyed daisies, so my bouquet will be plain white daisies while my bridesmaids will be holding pink daisies. I love daisies and I also love that they fit in my small budget. :)

This dress is only $299.00! The only problem is it's from an online vendor, so I sent in my measurements and am just hoping that it will fit when it comes in. I am also hoping that it will come in good condition and everything like that. They promised me that it would be in my hands within four weeks of ordering it, which is 2.5 weeks from now. Keep your fingers crossed!

I knew I wanted a tea-length wedding dress, and this is very similar to the couture dress I wanted at a cheaper price.

Hmm, I don't know what happened to the posts I made. . Sorry that it was blank! Ha ha, I look like such a newbie. Anyway, I'm from Michigan and am an American librarian living/working in Ontario, Canada. Our wedding is in my fiance's hometown of Huntsville, Alabama or somewhere near there. Our wedding is in 47 days and we still don't have a venue picked out! I know, I know we're crazy. The world's biggest procrastinators. We're looking at everywhere from the art museum, different chapels, and outdoor venues such as parks and mountain-side venues. . . .all of which needs to be planned in less than two months! Ahhhh! Any suggestions?
