What's the best game you've played at a wedding to win the centerpieces and to get the bride & groom to kiss?

We want to do something fun and different for both and I'm looking for suggestions. Tapping glasses is the traditional way to go but it's too easy and gets overdone very easily.

On Friday we decided to head over to Michael's and pick up some card stock to make a sample invitation. This is what we've decided to go with.

We're soooooo happy with them. I LOVE IT! We're doing a green apple theme for the reception which fits my personality perfectly as I'm a nutritionist :)

Our goal was to make something fun and unique which is how we want the rest of our wedding to be!

By far, the hardest part of wedding planning for me has been deciding on bridesmaids dresses. Both the style and the color.

I'm going back to my very original choice, which I've wanted for a long time. BLACK. I'm sticking to black, cocktail length dresses and that's my final decision. I promise. I think everyone in my life thinks I'm crazy as I've changed my mind soooooooo many times.

I'm also leaning towards the 3 girls choosing whatever style of black, knee length dresses that they like. I actually really like the idea of them all wearing different styles since they won't be standing next to eachother anyway. This way it won't look like they're 'supposed to' stand next to eachother like it would if they were all identical.

I'm happy with this decision and I think the green and white bouquets will look great with the black dresses!

We've decided to do something pretty untraditional for the wedding ceremony. We have 3 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen that we've asked to be in the wedding party. Instead of having an uneven number on each side we've decided that we like the idea of having 4 attendants on each side and mixing the genders. This actually works out well because I can have my 2 brothers and my 2 girlfriends stand up for me on my side and my fiance can have his sister and his 3 friends stand up for him on his side.

Does anyone else have mixed gender wedding parties?

My favorite flowers are gerbera daisies and calla lilies so instead of choosing between the two I'm going to use both! I like the idea of having simple calla lily bouquets and using gerbera daisies for the centrepieces. Our wedding colours are green and white. I might add in some pink for a splash of color.

Here is my inspiration .....

We live in Vancouver but we're getting married in Toronto because that's where all of our family and most of our friends live. We booked a trip home in December and found the perfect golf course for our outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. It was the first place we looked and we immediately knew we had found the right place.

In a week we booked our ceremony, reception, minister, DJ ...... and I FOUND MY DRESS!! I couldn't believe it. I went dress shopping with my mom in Toronto just so she could see me try on a wedding dress for the first time. I had no intention of buying my dress in Toronto because I wanted to find something closer to home. Well, guess what, I found my dress in the first store we went into. I can't believe it. I didn't even know exactly what I was looking for but when I put this one on I knew it was the one! I'm soooooooo excited.

I have to admit, part of me was sad that I found it so quickly because the whole dress shopping experience was so short but on the other hand I know some girls go for months without being able to find their dress and that must be so stressful. So now I've got another trip home planned for April to pick it up. I can't wait to see my dress. December feels like forever ago. I'll be bringing it back home with me to Vancouver for the fittings and alterations. I have some pictures of me trying on my dress but I'm way too nervous to post them. I don't want my fiance to accidentally see them!

Rich proposed to me on the morning of November 23, 2007. He wanted to surprise his mom for her birthday and give her the gift of a daughter-in-law. Even after being together for 4 years he was able to surprise me and catch me completely off guard with the proposal. It was the last thing on my mind as I was getting ready for work that Friday morning and that's what made it so unique. I didn't see it coming. It was a very sweet and special moment that I'll never forget =)

P.S. I love my ring! It's the perfect style for me.
