Mixed gender wedding party ... anyone else?
We've decided to do something pretty untraditional for the wedding ceremony. We have 3 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen that we've asked to be in the wedding party. Instead of having an uneven number on each side we've decided that we like the idea of having 4 attendants on each side and mixing the genders. This actually works out well because I can have my 2 brothers and my 2 girlfriends stand up for me on my side and my fiance can have his sister and his 3 friends stand up for him on his side.

Does anyone else have mixed gender wedding parties?

We don't have a mixed gender wedding party, but I have a moh and one bm and my fiance just has a best man, so we have un-even numbers.
Just make sure your attendants are okay with it and go for it!

My fiance is having five male groomsman and one female "groomsmen" and I'm having either six or seven (still haven't decided) bridesmaids, I'm not really concerned about how it will look, what matters is that your surrounded by the people you care about. I like your idea of making the sides even though and the girls look good in the turquis green.

Sounds great!  I say go for it!  These days with weddings, basically anything is "acceptable."  And also, this is YOUR wedding!  So as long as you are comfortable with it, go for it.  I think it's a great idea, these are the people who are closest to you guys, and that's what matters.

I love it. I have 2 bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen. I'm doing the same. One girl and two guys on one side and the same on the other. We are going to have the two guys walk out the one girl. As for the dance, we are going to have one guy and girl dance and halfway through the song the other guys will cut in. I love the non traditional way of doing things and it takes the stress off of having to find a certain number of people to stand. you can just ask the people who are close to you.
