Wedding Reception
Make them kiss!
I got this idea last night for an alternative to everyone clinking their glasses to make us kiss.
Everytime someone orders our signature drink from the bar, the bartender will honk a horn or alert everyone and make us kiss! Good idea? yay or nay? I haven't mentioned it to my man yet, is this idea just too silly? |

Ask a Question
Names for our signature drinks?
Hello brides!
Please help me name our signature drinks! The name of our wedding is "All You Need is Love" so the love theme is very prominent :) For adults we will be doing a cocktail with champagne, cranberry juice and grand marnier For kids and non-drinkers we will have a punch with ginger ale, lime, apple cider and raspberry juice I want a cute catchy name for each drink, but I'm getting stuck, any creative ideas? |

Dress search once again...
So I went to After 5 Fashions in Oakridge Mall in Vancouver BC to order this Tony Bowls dress (the only location near me at all that will carry this dress) and I had a horrific experience!
I had been in contact with the store owner, and had emailed all the info to the store. Well when I got there this amazingly rude woman says "well thats the brads personal email, I can't just check it!" so she makes me use the store computer, behind the counter to find the dress model number...whatever. I knew they didn't have any in stock but I had talked about trying on a dress with a similar silhouette so I could see how that shape does on my body (curvy and pear-shaped) the lady doesn't even know what I mean by silhouette and puts me in a gown with the same neckline (uhh who cares! I want to know the dress will be flattering!) I figure whatever, I'll just go ahead and order it, I love the silver dress! So this older lady takes me measurements, then goes to look up the size chart of that designer...she comes back and says "we have problem" She hands me the post-it with my measurements and says "you too big here (pointing to my hips) it doesn't match up here (pointing to my chest)" "You need size 18 to fit down there but only 10 for top" She then stood there like that was it, I asked her, can't she take it in? She then told me it will add aprox. $250 to the price. So I wrote down all that she had said on the post-it and was standing there trying to figure out what to do, and the first woman then barks "so it is a go?!" I'm holding my head in my hands and say that I'm not sure and I'm going to have to think about it. I start to leave and the shorter lady YELLS "You can't take that!" about the paper she handed ME! Then the other lady reached over the counter, grabs my wrist and rips the paper out of my hand. "If you're not buying a dress we have to charge you for that!" she yells at me! O. M. G. I was about to looooose it on these people! I don't take crap like that, so I reached over the counter and grabbed the paper back! "My boob size, my measurements" I said and stormed out. I had my sister and 7 yr. old nephew with me so I didn't want to yell in front of them, so after we all left I went back in to let them know they are mean rude people and I would be emailing their boss to let him know why his store lost a sale. I'm very secure with my body but of course after that you can't help but feel a little bad, I cried with my man when I got home. So now I'm on the search again! How discouraging. I would have had no problem not keeping my measurements (I mean, who cares?!) but they way they acted was unbelievable! |

Wedding Invitation
RSVP Postcards - FOR FREE!
I started thinking about invitations again this morning and decided I wanted to use postcards for people to use as their RSVP.
I went on vistaprint and what do you know, their current special is 100 FREE postcards! All it cost me is $6 in shipping :) yay! Our wedding is a musical production so I chose this awesome theater background, and on the back side printed ? R.S.V.P. ? ? YES! I/We will be there to celebrate! ? No, I/We can not attend, but will be there in spirit. With a spot below to write names of people attending and number of children. What a great purchase! I'm so excited :) |

Wedding Dress
Non-white wedding dress!
I realized I was making the same mistake so many brides make on Say Yes to The Dress.
I had fallen in love with this dress but kept looking, comparing every dress I saw to this one...and then it hit me - This is YOUR dress Tessa! My husband and I talked about me wearing white and decided it was a silly tradition, and I had fallen in love with the idea of a silver dress. But then I discovered that it also comes in white, and since our colors are black&white with hints of red now I'm thinking maybe I should get a white dress! I would love any advice on what color to get ladies :) |

Bridesmaids
Something Old, Something New...
So way back in January when we first started planning I had mentioned to my friends that I wanted them to be bridesmaids but now we have moved and it's been so long since we have discussed anything as well as I have had a falling out with the girl that was going to be my MoH so I have decided to send a little "Will you be my bridesmaid" card out with the save-the-dates.
I've decided on making little black and white cards that will read: (front) "I have found something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. Now the only thing missing..." (inside) "Is you! (name) ______ Will you be my bridesmaid?" I've also written a small paragraph for each gal (and one guy) about how much they mean to me. Now I just need to put it all together! |

Wedding Cake
Cute alternative wedding cake topper
I really like these as a wedding cake topper :)
Our colors are black and white with hints of red. I think this would be great and then when all is said and done...you have a new set of shakers. |

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
DIY Rings?
I stumbled across this website today:
http://weddingringworkshop.com/ They have shops all over the US, it takes about 5 or 6 hours and you make your own wedding bands! They look beautiful - only thing is they don't list any prices on the website...I wonder if it is a good deal or not? Looks pretty cool - my parents actually made their own rings our of quarters way back in the 60's! But they are nowhere near as polished and beautiful as the ones from this place :) |

Wedding Music And Songs
Planning, writting, singing...
So we are doing our whole wedding as a musical.
Singing our vows, dancing down the isle etc full on broadway show! Sounded like a good idea when I thought of it...but actually writing it is another story! I went through the 2500+ songs on my computer and made a short list that is around 50 songs...now I have to whiddle that down some more and figure out who we want to sing songs or do readings etc. ahhh so much work! If anyone has any tips of favourite wedding/love songs or ideas at all I'd love to hear it :) |
