To Use a Cake Riser or NOT?

i have been back and forth in my mind....whether I want to buy a cake riser or not. If they weren't so expensive I would definitly say its a no brainer, but I will end up spending another 80 or so with shipping to get one. My cake is a 4-tier so I know its not necessarily needed, but then I think it will showcase my cake so much more. UGH, what to do. I have less than 8 weeks left so I definitly have got to decide. HELP, girls I would choose the one pictured, but get it painted in the aqua color since my cake is more aqua and only dots of red. < HELP, HELP HELP, > me make up my mind.

The cake stand shown here is gorgeous. Adding flower petals around your 4 tier cake without the riser will also add to the impact of the cake display. Can you make your own cake stand from materials at a craft store and save some money?

Why not rent one?
Our baker is letting us rent her silver stand/riser for pretty cheap compared to the purchase price. :)

it will cost about the same to make one, and i dont want the plain silver one.
my cake is pretty detailed so i was talking to FH at lunch and he said it may look to busy, so im thinking we are scratching the idea now.

rent or DIY it, i love the one in this pic. I think they add so much to a cake and why not make it look bigger then it actualy is? its all about impact haha
