Rhena & Angelo's Theme (This is my second wedding gown) I'm so scared right now. I fell in love with my dream dress and had my fitting today. They were really nice and very helpful today at my fitting. When the dress was bought out to me, I started clamming up, breaking into a cold sweat...I sware, my armpits started sweating and I used deodarant this morning. I was totally embarrased, because I just came on my RED WINGS last night and was flowing heavily too. Ughhh!
After I gained my composure, I was able to try on my dream gown and all of the sudden, I got light headed, dizzy, started farting and the room started spinning! It's an expensive gown, but I am more afraid of how much it is. I really could be putting the money towards our honeymoon or house instead of a wedding gown? Mamu (mother) was in awww, as I came out of the fitting room and I was a cold sweat mess.
Help me? Would you spend over $3,000.00 on a gown? I'm scared! What have I done? My stomach is hurting now, I'm nauseous.
It totally depends on our budget, if it's going to put you into debt or a really tight spot, no I wouldn't. If you can afford it, it's your money, buy what you love! Every bride has a different view on dress costs, some think $500 is too much, you only wear it for 8 hours or so, etc. Some will tell you spend 10 grand if you have to in order to get 'the' dress. lol
As the other ladies said- if you can go for it. However, I won't buy a dress over $1000 for myself. So much money for one dress, I'll be happy to get married with man of my dreams and dress won't really matter me all that much
I think that if this is your dream dress you should get it. it will be forever captured in your pics and the feeling of being on top of the world on wedding day is priceless. I think that you can always cut on things like favors or having less roses in your centerpiece but not your dress. If it makes you feel better, my dress was $3800 and I don't regret it at all :)
BTW: if Vera can make you feel all of these things...it's THE ONE!! Woo-Hoo!! Enjoy it!
Girlie, Girlie, Girlie....You know how I feel about this one. My dress was $75.00 and $3,000.00 is way out of my ballpark. It was nice to have money in the bank account after the wedding!!! It's for one time only. Do what ever your heart desires, but I would pinch. You can find other marvelous dresses. You still have time.
One thing to consider: you could sell your dress after the wedding, and get some of the money back then? It could take awhile to sell it, so I wouldn't count on that money back right away, but it would help with the budget. I'd say most brides re-sell their dress for 50 - 60% of the retail price they paid.
You know yourself best...if your body is reacting like that over the stress of the expense of the gown, it may not be worth it. Will you be feeling the same things on your wedding day?
