Such a great idea!!
Dancing sandals for the reception
So, I am sure many of you have heard of this idea before, but for those of you that havent, I thought that I would share...
I am planning on doing 'dancing sandals' at my wedding. I have seen this on several people's blogs and posts and I think that it is a great idea.... I mean, come on girls how many of us wear the ridiculously cure, albeit ridiculously uncomfortable, shoes to weddings, only to take them off and dance in bare feet. While bare feet is fine and comfortable I have often thought on the end of those nights when I am dog tired and yet have to spend the time washing my feet before getting into bed that there has to be a better idea... and there is! You can find some cheap sandals for only a couple bucks a pair, and the guest appreciation of them will be more than worth the cost! |

Table runners or table squares?
I just posted about wanting to do table runners in this fabric, however, now I am contemplating just doing the table squares. This would be a lot more cost-friendly as it will obviously be a lot less fabric.
I was also worried about not being able to match the pink perfectly with my napkins, which would be more obvious of the napkins touching the table runner... with this if there was a slight discrepency in the pinks then it would not be as noticable. Thoughts? Thanks in advance. PS- I got one picture of the sqaures in regular damask off of saucy209s page.. I think they look great. For the record, mine would be against black table cloths |

How we met
Meeting people in bars arent just about one-night stands!
I've been creeping some other people's sites and realize that one of my favorite things to read about is how the couples met and how they got engaged.
Here's our story: I was out on a pub crawl with some girlfriends and we were slightly (okay--very) intoxicated. Nolan had a friend home from the army so him and his friends were equally intoxicated in celebration... At some point in the night, his group of friends and my group of friends all ended up at the same nightclub- Cowboys. So, I know what you are thinking- seems like one of those fairytale kind of stories, match made in heaven, great story to tell the kids haha. It gets even better- my friend and I were up dancing on the speakers (because I was most definitely a bar-star back at that time in my life), and we saw a group of guys across the room. They were all quiet and shy and decked out in cowboy hats and boots and wranglers. My friend and I decided we HAD to talk to the cowboys.. I mean, we were at Cowboys nightclub afterall. We marched up there and gave the best pick-up line ever: "Hey guys, since we're at Cowboys, know where we can find us any cowboys?" Then we exploded in a severe case of the giggles. I cringe just thinking of the cheesiness of it now.. but i guess it worked! Nolan and I danced and spent the rest of the night hanging out at the bar, afterwards we all went to Humpty's for some nice greasy food and then we parted our ways. Two days later we went on our first date, but I got nervous because I didnt know him and called my friend at the last minute to come along (just in case). So the three of us went on the date that he had planned for us......and that was......wait for it....... gopher hunting. Here I was decked out in a cute little pair of jeans and high heels-- and ended up in a field with one foot in a cow pattie and a gun in my hand. Wow, not exactly the kind of first date I had imagined, but Nolan is not exactly like any other guy I have ever met so I guess it was just fitting. 2nd date: Finding Nemo at the theatre and then our very first kiss afterwards--ohh la la 3rd date: He came with me and 3 girlfriends to a pub and listened to us and our girltalk for the whole night... and even joined into the conversation a few times.... this is when I knew for sure that he was a keeper. Anyways, I could write forever about us.... that night at the bar was over 7 years ago and we are still going strong and seem to be even more in love every day. I count my blessings that God crossed our paths and look forward to getting to spend the rest of my life with him. |

Worth the time and money?
So, my idea is to have black table cloths with black chair covers and this beautiful damask pattern as a table runner. I will try and match my chair sahes and napkins to the pink in the table runner which may be the tricky part.
The cost of this fabric is quite pricey as I have to order from the states and get raped on shipping. Then I will have to enlist my bridesmaids or family to help me sew them,. What are YOUR thoughts on the style? Do you think its worth the time and money? |
