Just curious
Here's the deal. I have been married before so I know how precious not to mention priceless those moments in time you can't get back can be. So, I was wondering what other people are doing if you are on a budget for your photography. I have looked into a few things: for starters I am a student so I checked with the Art Department at my college and I got to see some of the work of our student photographers and let me tell you --they were pretty awesome. So i thought perhaps I would see what they would charge me. I also checked with the newspapers to see if they could give me a name of some who freelances for them. Of course, I am going to have the disposables on the table but I want some really good pictures you guys. The thing is I am paying for this wedding on my own and I am a single mom (not like that is too uncommon these days I know) but there are other contributing factors. And though I have been married before this feels like my first as silly as that may sound. I don't have thousands to spend on photography. Heck I just don't have thousands to spend...LOL. So any suggestions would be welcomed and no I don't have any friends or relatives that love to take pics...I know bad for me.

I think the students is a good idea.  Bright, creative and need to develop their portfolio

Students are a GREAT idea. I was also going to do disposible cameras but heard from alot of people that kids just get ahold of them and then you have to develop tons of useless pictures. Heres another idea - put some sort of sign on each table asking guests to help you capture the day (you can make it a scavenger hunt type thing, list specific things youd like captured) and then also put on the sign a website where they can later uploud their pictures. Alot of people will bring digital cameras so this is a great way to get more pictures without the expensive cost of disposable cameras and developing them AND you get to see the ones you want to develop first.

I saw this idea at Junieya's blog - http://www.weddingbycolor.com/junieya/milestones/12950
