Wedding Photography
Soooooo Disappointing

I have been a little MIA lately with the posts, but I am finally getting myself back on here to add some more wedding posts to my page. So much time is spent planning everything, so of course you want to make sure everyone sees how well it all turned out, and to hopefully share some helpful tips and ideas. Honestly, for the past two months I have been a little anti-wedding, which is heartbreaking. After the wedding was over, my husband and I bragged how everything went off with out a hitch, and how the day could not have been more perfect. Little did we know that our photographer would soon be ACCIDENTALLY DELETING HALF OF OUR PORTRAITS!!! I have lost all of the pictures with me and bridesmaids that were taken after the ceremony and most of the creative portraits, that I had my heart set on, with me and my husband, not to mention all of the portraits of me by myself. Devastated does not even begin to describe my feelings towards the loss of my portraits. I do still have a large number of pictures to remember my day, but I still can't help but think of all the portraits that are lost.......kissing at sunset, kissing under my veil, casual shots sitting on an old stone staircase. It is so disappointing, especially when you thought you did everything to make sure that your day would go perfectly, and hired only professionals so that there would be no room for error. I am still in negotiations with the photography company, so I do not want to elaborate to much further, but how do you even begin to compensate for such a loss?

tip: always have someone taking backup snapshots!!!

I am so sorry. This is terrible. You would think you are safe with professionals... this just proves the theory that something will go wrong. Thank god they didnt delete all of them though... I'm so sorry.

I'm so sorry to hear that! Did you take out insurance for it? I spoke with my photographer about this as well and he offers photographer's insurance (basically, if something happens or if the day is too ugly to photograph, I believe that he will give us another day where we can get dressed up and he will do the same portraits of getting ready, etc.) it's a bit of a hassle and not the same but at least you will still have photos. Just a thought - maybe you'd like to ask your photographer if they can do the same?

A similar situation happened to someone I know.  She got all her pictures back to find they were all poorly taken (out of focus, bad lighting, etc.).  She didn't end up ordering any of them.  I think it's horrible that these kind of things happen...especially on such an important day.  I'm sooo sorry.

Awww man...I'm sorry that happened.  Can you possiblyw ork out where you all can get dressed up and retkae the photos that were deleted?  I know it's not the same but at least you would be able to have those photos back.  They should compensate you in a BIG way....free photo sessions...free anything!  I hope you get it worked out.

I would ask for half to a third of your money back.  That is half of your memories gone.  It might be too late for insurance, as you usually have to do that before the wedding.  I would also ask for a short session of you and your hubby, so you can get a few shots of you guys being cute together that are not at the reception!  They can redo those easily, as it just involves two people, instead of a mass of people.

OMG!!! I'm so sorry. I know nothing that we say will make you feel better , because the pictures of the wedding are like a treasure to us.  I can't imagine that happening to me, I'll go crazy!
But get your money back...Im sorry that happened.

Wow I am heartbroken to hear this! I hope in your negotiations that your photographer offers you a free session, where perhaps you can dawn your wedding dress, your husband can rent his tux ( paid for by the photographer of course) and your bridesmaids can wear their dresses again. He should set up a session with you and reshoot the creative and posed photos with your bridal party and husband so that you will have those. They won't be the exact photos from that day, but at least you would have them.

Best wishes to you!!!!
