We decided upon our wedding favors! We were inspired by our friends' wedding where they gave out homemade apple butter in cute little Ball canning jars. My FH's family is from Vermont and grew up tapping Maple trees to make syrup. When they moved to TN they continued making the syrup every Fall. They already have a ton of bottled syrup made so we thought it would be a cheap, yet personal favor. Plus all of my FH's buddies know him as the syrup guy & we thought this would give them a good laugh.
He ordered half-pint hexagonal glass jars (like the kind candles come in) online. The lids are self-sealing once we fill the jars with hot syrup. I'm going to add a labels and damask ribbon on each jar to dress it up.
We made 4 dozen today....only 12 more dozens to go!
