Our Furbabies
This morning I was playing with our puppy Bailey when I started wondering how many brides out there plan to have pets your "life after the wedding" plans. We already have Dakota, a full-grown Husky, and Bailey, a little mixed puppy that his brother found on the interstate a while back. The FH had just recieved Dakota when we first met so he became her master. We got Bailey about a year ago and I immediately fell in love with her since she was so tiny compared to the husky.
Anyway, this morning my heart just broke when I had to put Bailey on a diet. We noticed that she's been getting chubby but couldn't figure out why since we only feed her from a small bowl. This weekend we finally realized that she's been eating her bowl and most of the food from Dakota's large bowl as well! Yes, Bailey is a little diva and will bully Dakota around. Now instead of feeding them together, Bailey has to eat inside while Dakota eats outside. When it's time to send Bailey out to play, we have to remove Dakota's food so that Bailey can't gobble it up. |

Flower Girl Dress
Pink and Damask!
I got the dress! After an exhausting day at work, I was so relieved to find that the flower girl dress had arrived.
I knew immediately when I saw the Fattie Pie brand which dress I wanted for my flower girl. However, I didn't know about the $100 and up prices. Luckily I found another bride on weddingbee who was selling the exact dress in the exact size that I planned on ordering! It ended up costing only half the price! I can't wait to see my flower girl in this dress! |

Damask Centerpieces Complete!
I can proudly say that all 26 centerpieces are complete! I wanted to mix up the tables so half of the tables will have a black birdcage with damask pink candles & the other half will have the pomander vases that I made. Two of the pomanders are different because I ran out of pink roses. When I ordered another batch from Efavormart, evidently they changed their pink roses to a different style. I actually like the different roses better. I figured that we'll spread the different pomanders on separate sides of the room and no one will even notice (hopefully).

Flip Flop Basket
I finally completed all 100 pairs of the flip flops for our flip flop baskets. I used the thank you tags that made earlier (see previous post) and pink ribbon to secure them on the flip flops. I already had 1 square 31 tote in damask and half of the pairs fit inside of it. I ordered one more 31 tote to match, which I'm really excited about because it's something I will actually use after the wedding.
Sorry about the poor quality photos. We've stored all of the wedding stuff in the garage to help keep it out of the way. |

Flipflop Tags
Today was my first SNOW DAY for the school year! You know what that means? WEDDING WORK! The FH & I felt motivated today and tackled several projects. I finished up all of the pomanders while he tied black ribbons on all of the bubbles.
Together we made all of the hang tags for our flipflops. I stole this idea from FutureMrs.Wilson - check out her blog for the original pictures. I bought the punch at Micheal's and used regular white cardstock for the tags. I had to puch the holes myself, but it didn't take very long. I found the "Thank You" stamp at Micheal's in the dollar bin. I accidently purchased a black dye pad instead of an ink pad, but it actually worked better because it didn't take even 5 seconds for the black letters to dry. The pink edges were SUPER easy. I just touched each edge to the pink ink pad and it soaked up the color quickly. |

Vent: Extra Postage
Square Envelopes!
Time to vent! We finally finished collected addresses and stuffing all 200 of our beautiful STDs. This morning the FI took the envelopes to the post office to drop them off so they wouldn't sit around in our mailbox. I purchased the holiday forever stamp back in December because I knew the price of stamps was changing 2012. We had already put all of the stamps on the envelopes & they were ready for shipping. When the FI took the STDs to the post office this morning he was told that we had to add an extra 20 cent stamp to each card just because they are SQUARE!
Seriously? I guess I should have checked the rates for "special sized" envelopes. I just didn't realize we'd have to pay $128 just to mail our STDs. GRRRRRRR! |

Wedding Flowers
Inspiration
I originally planned on making all of the bouquets (except for my own) out of silk flowers. Yet the closer we get to the big day, the more I'm thinking about going with a florist. My parents have offered to pay for all of the flowers now I've got my eyes set on using all real flowers.
The problem is, I just can't find a perfect picture to use as an example. Here are the photos I've found so far & what I like about them. My bouquet will be made of pink stargazer lilles & pink/white roses (Photo 5). The bridesmaid bouqets will be pink roses with som things added in. Photo1 :I want lots of black bead sprigs poking out. Photo 2/3: I want LOTS of delicate ostrich fluff feathers at the base in black. Photo 4: I LOVE these black feathers. Not sure what they're called, but they look different than the delicate ostrich fluff feathers. I also want the stems wrapped in damask ribbon, but I haven't saved a picture of it yet. |
