Wedding theme(s)
once again changed lol...
I have once again changed the theme of the wedding. I was thinking of ways to combine what I want for the wedding and what my fiance' wants.
So I was thinking... How can I take a beach theme(fiance'), and my love of vintage and of Disney princesses? This is hard because of the different stories but I think i got it. How does a "Little Mermaid" inspired wedding sound? Now it won't be kid oriented by any means. I just loved mermaids growning up as well as the princess storyline. I also thought of "Princess and the Frog", because it has the first African American princess and that my fiance's daughter says I look like princess Tianna ( she's a very smart 3 year old) lol she makes me feel good all the time. so I wanted to incorporate her in it with this idea. I think I can pull it off. Soon I will have an inspiration board. |

Ceremony location
Okay.. I have a question;
Is it weird to have my ceremony at a chapel located at a cemetery? Now before you get the chills, the chapel is located at the front and its also an arborterum( think spelling is wrong). No one will see graves or anything like that. the pics are attached. Really need advice. A co worker kinda made me feel bad as well as my mom. They said that we need to pick a different ceremony site. My F.H and I really like it but I don't want to make our guests feel uncomfortable. Would like your opinions. I love the stained glass window and the historic charm of the chapel, and Chris loves the fact that it has a lot of areas( not In the cemetery) to have great photos. Here is the website; www.springgrove.org/sg/weddings/sg_weddings.shtm please if you have a chance look at it and give me feedback. really don't know what to do. thanks again. |

Engagement
UPDATE
I'm finally back on wbc. Well let me give alittle background info to catch you up to date. My fiance' and I postponed the wedding once more to April 30,2011. The financial difficulty was an issue still and we just both decided once more to put it off. Now we finally are getting our day. I'm so excited. It's like he just proposed all over again.
Now since i'm, starting to plan the wedding again. some of the ideas I had for the wedding are not what I want anymore. I hate to say it even my dress. I wanted to do the princess thing at first but now I really see that wasn't really reflecting me or my FH. So now I want to do a vintage, old glamour feel. But there is one problem: MY FH, lol. He doesn't understand what it actually means and how I can still make the wedding reflect us. He wants a beach theme which I could (Well I know) tie in vintage but the only problem is the color scheme. He wants blue and its not the first color I had in mind. Hopefully once I can show him my vision he will be on board. The only thing we agree on is the ceremony location and the intimacy of the wedding. Well brides to be i will be on here more frequently now so feel free to give me feedback. |

The wedding is moved to next year..
While getting prepared for the soon approaching wedding date of August 22nd, my fiance' and I have came into financial difficulty. We decided that we need to save a little more for the wedding but take care of our current bills so it won't effect us in the future. At first I was really upset. I thought that he was trying to find a way to get out of the proposal, but that was not the case. After I sat down and thought things through and we discussed it, I understood where he was coming from. I just wish it would have been said before I got the invitations done... LOL One thing I do know is that I probably was a good bride for Bridezilla! I know now that I won't spend a lot on invitations and become more frugile with money. But I didn't spend alot from the start.

These are the dresses that i have for the wedding. At first I wasn't really interested in a ball gown but fell in love with this dress. There is no need for alterations which saves me money.

Wedding Decoration
I have 139 days to go til my wedding and I am so wishy washy with coming up with my decor for flowers and centerpieces. I changed my colors from pink/chocolate to cornflower/white and other accents which I still haven't came up with. I constantly get a headache when i trying to get the wheels turning in my head. I think of and idea and then after I try to see if I can do it myself it is either too time consuming or too pricey. I have my two wedding gowns picked out as well as the venue and ceremony site but the decor is the only part I'm stumped about. Not to mention my hair. I was wondering is possible to incorporate floralytes with maybe with flowers and feathers without becoming tacky? Please give me some feedback. Also about what colors besides white and blue go well with cornflower?
