Anybody out there know a good videographer who doesn't cost an arm and a leg and won't sell me anything extra I don't need? That is, I want the ceremony and some of the reception, nothing more, nothing less! (for Halifax)

Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed by all of the vendors, web sites, books, etc offering so many of the same services. How do you know if you're choosing the right ones? Also I feel like I want my decorations to look classic, summery and memorable, but sometimes I feel like I may be opting for too little (in the name of saving money) or wanting too much!
My head is swimming...I just want it to be a wonderful experience...the months leading up to the big day and the day itself (well duh)
Anyway, does anyone have any ideas for simple, yet classy decor for a reception indoors (semi-formal) in clover green and white?
Also what advice can anyone offer about videoagraphy? I really want our wedding to be videotyped but it's so pricey...what do people think about professional vs getting someone to tape it with our camcorder?

Well, it's January and we FINALLY picked the dresses. After changing my mind several times and Keith not liking picks I liked, we decided on the Alfred Angelo style 6493 in clover green. I hope this gets better from here on in or I don't know if I'll make it through!
So my florist is reserved, my reception venue and my photographer. Now I just need help finding some tasteful decorations without the cost being too overwhelming....

Well, I've put off my plans for decorations too long...I have been told my bridesmaids that it's 2009 and I better get my butt in gear! I'm not that great with the logistics of how, what, color schemes etc, so I have my co-worker/friend Tina helping me. Tina has a great eye for style and I trust her judgement.
I really would like to have a backdrop lit upwith blue and white flood lights shining up on the background with some kind of lightweight flowy fabric over the projector screen behind the head table. If this makes sense to anyone reading, can you tell me if you know where to get the fabrics, how much, and how the flood lights get set up? I've seen pics but don't know how to go about it.


January 24/09 Now I'm back to clover green....and I'm staying with it!!!
