If this sounds strange to anyone...well it does to me too. But I think its kind of what I'm doing. My wedding is not until next year in April and nows the time to start maybe looking for reception venues, searching for photographers and some other things like that - right? Well consider it done. All of it, my ceremony site - check, my reception site - check, florist, cake, photographer, DJ, tuxedos, - check. Call me crazy but all these things I thought I'd get done ahead of time...so come the day of my wedding I have nothing to worry about. (Well at least thats the idea for now) I want to worry about the unexpected the day of my wedding (heaven fordid, there is any), and not stuff I could of taken care of before.
I'm not yet "paid in full" on any of this stuff, by all means. But there's a sense of accomplishment knowing all is booked and I can make payments on all of it at my own leisure. I expect to have everything paid for in full by January. My bridal shower is in February so I can focus on that and all the other "fun" stuff, such as shoes, accessories, hair and nail appointments, etc.
Another benefit to doing the payment thing is it kind of eases the intial pain of hearing the cost of something. For example a $1000.00 cake doesn't sound too bad when you pay for in payments of $250.00 in 4 months...Right?
I would love to hear the pro's and con's to this...so WBC whatcha think?

well Happy Planning :)
I think this way is smart when it comes to your money and plus you wont have to run around on the last few days to try to find the right vendor...
