Wedding Budget
LayAway Wedding?

If this sounds strange to anyone...well it does to me too. But I think its kind of what I'm doing. My wedding is not until next year in April and nows the time to start maybe looking for reception venues, searching for photographers and some other things like that - right? Well consider it done. All of it, my ceremony site - check, my reception site - check, florist, cake, photographer, DJ, tuxedos, - check. Call me crazy but all these things I thought I'd get done ahead of time...so come the day of my wedding I have nothing to worry about. (Well at least thats the idea for now) I want to worry about the unexpected the day of my wedding (heaven fordid, there is any), and not stuff I could of taken care of before.

I'm not yet "paid in full" on any of this stuff, by all means. But there's a sense of accomplishment knowing all is booked and I can make payments on all of it at my own leisure. I expect to have everything paid for in full by January. My bridal shower is in February so I can focus on that and all the other "fun" stuff, such as shoes, accessories, hair and nail appointments, etc.

Another benefit to doing the payment thing is it kind of eases the intial pain of hearing the cost of something. For example a $1000.00 cake doesn't sound too bad when you pay for in payments of $250.00 in 4 months...Right?

I would love to hear the pro's and con's to this...so WBC whatcha think?

hmm.. i think thats great and we'll also be doing the same  except mine is still a few years away lol! but we will be looking into the venue we chose next yr and prolly place a deposit on it , its a beautiful place that books quickly and we want the date we have chosen so we will be booking it in well in advance, we are doing our cake  well a good friend of mine is so we will try to make samples now so we dont have to worry about it later, as for photos and video well we might be having friends do it aswell but not sure but like u we'll book as much as i can in advance. I think the cons are Lord forbid any of the companies go bankrupt/close due to a fire  natural disaster, but i try not to be negative and think that way pros you said it less to worry about , less stress and you can actually find sum great prices/deals that way u will be paying this years price  instead of next years if it goes up. You have more time to spend on the small details  and  lets you enjoy your planning.

well Happy Planning :)

that is what I am doing.... my wedding is next year but I am starting the process now by booking everything to at least i can start paying for it now slowly.... your right it wont be so painful if your slowly paying now in small amount then in the end a big chunk .....

I think this way is smart when it comes to your money and plus you wont have to run around on the last few days to try to find the right vendor...

My FH and I are doing the same thing. Its much easier and not so stressful. You have a longer time to pay off and you don't have to panic about where you are going to have everything. Great idea!! :D
