The bells

I hate the bells that people ring to make the bride and groom kiss. I hate the tinkling of glasses or plastic. I just find it so disruptive to the reception process, especially when the B&G are trying to talk and visit with their guests.

Any thoughts of how I can prevent this? Would it be rude to just ignore it? Can I put something on the tables with the table numbers, like please don't tinkle your glasses?

I don't like that either and if it happens at our wedding I will just ignore it and might even let the MC know that if this happens to say something about it in a nice light hearted way something like the Bride and Groom are saving their kisses for later.

A girlfriend of mine had the MC announce at the beginning of the wedding that instead of tinkling a glass, you had to come up and tell a story about the B&G before they would kiss.  This kept both the tinkling and the stories to a minimum.
