Our Wedding
11-11-11
Holy smokes, it's been forever since I have been on here!
Hubby and I got married on 11-11-11. I was 32 weeks pregnant and it was amazing! I got my dress in 4 days before the wedding, thankfully it fit and actually looked decent! It was the most amazing day of my life (at the time, the next most amazing day was the day our daughter was born 12-30-11) I remember everything about it and I couldn't be happier!!

I've been trying to add some of the photos but they aren't loading so maybe I will try again later!

Finally done!!
100% Handmade Invitations!
Its been a loooong 2 weeks of cutting, punching, gluing, bedazzling, and ribbons!

We decided to do our invites ourselves since everything seemed so unoriginal and expensive! I spent 4 long days on the computer making my templates, backgrounds, and fonts. We are very happy with how these turned out!
I love the RSVPs, they are so us, and I know alot of people will hate them and think they are totally tacky, but thats okay!!!

All in all from stamps to ink our total cost for 50 invites and RSVPs was $120.00

In laws causing drama
What would you do?
FH and I have agreed that we aren't going to let people push us into inviting people we don't want at our wedding.
Things changed when we said we weren't going to invite kids because we didn't want to pay full price for their meals when they don't even eat. My mom was really upset by this and then offered to pay for all of the catering if we invited kids, so we said okay. She is paying for the biggest expense of our wedding ($4,000.00) so she gets to have a say. She wanted kids (we weren't against kids being there, we just didn't want to pay for them) and 3 other people who were always around me when I was young. So, we decided to let her have that and we are fine with it.

FH is inviting his dads side of the family to the wedding because he is semi close with them. He doesn't think they will come, but he still wants to send out the invites. He isn't close at all with his moms side so he isn't inviting them. They have been awful to him and FSIL since forever. They haven't spoke to him at all since we have been together (almost 3 years) and I totally understand why he doesn't want to invite them, they are just strangers to him. Well him mom is very upset about this and had his sister bbming both of us trying to figure out why he wasn't inviting them and saying that FMIL is very, very upset about it. She said it will probably get to the point where she will say she isn't coming to the wedding if they aren't invited. I, for one am very upset about this. FH made it clear that FSIL didn't have any of them at her wedding, and that he just flat out doesn't want there them. She asked if my parents were getting a say in it and we both explained that they are and why they are...because they are paying for a big part of the wedding. Basically he told her that money talks. If his parents are willing to pay for big part of the wedding them yeah, he will invite them, but if they aren't hes not going to, he doesn't want to pay for them to be there if he doesn't like them. Yes, it totally sounds greedy and selfish, but that's just how it is!

They said that they will put wine on all the tables, which will cost about $300.00. We have already paid for it, but thats what they want to do. FH doesn't think this is enough to get him to invite FMIL side of the family considering his parents helped pay for FSIL's house instead of paying for her wedding.

This is just going to cause issues and I can see it already!!

Ask a Question
How much did you pay for your Backdrop?
I really want a backdrop, its a MUST have, no way around it! We found one that we LOVED, but it would be $600-$1200 to rent it! FH has decided he can't justify spending that amount of money on curtains, which I totally get. We are having a hard time finding one for a good price.

What did you pay for yours?

HELP!! Where did you get your invitations??
I have been searching online for invitations and as crazy as it sounds, I have only found 7 websites that sell invitations.....This is the world wide web and I can only find 7??? Something is not right here!

FH and I were going to get an artist to do some original art work to make a front cover comic book layout for our invitations, however when he saw the cost he was no longer interested in that idea. So my hunt is on for the perfect invitation. We want something casual, kinda funny and not very traditional since we aren't a very traditional couple!

If you ordered your invites online, where did you find them? And if you bought them from a store, which one!? I didn't think finding them would be so hard, but I have been proven wrong! I need help!

Ask a Question
How are you being transported to your venue?
FH and I have been discussing transportation and all of our options. We were thinking limo so that everyone can be together while going to do pictures, and then we were thinking about just saving money and taking 2 vehicles and now we are torn! I'm sure there are other options out there, but we just don't know what they are!

How are you ladies being transported around on your special day!?

Wedding Dress
Starting over!!
Finding my first dress was easy peasy, and I loooove it. However, its not going to work for me anymore so now I have to start all over on my dress hunt!
At the beginning of my pregnancy I thought I might be able to still pull off my original dress kind of like "Bethany getting married" but now I'm thinking I'd rather be comfortable and have a dress that makes it easy to pee! Haha! I have started to look online and a lot of maternity dresses look like nighties which I do not want. I found one website with beautiful mat. dresses but they take a while to come in. I called a bridal store to ask about their selection and you have to order them like 4 months in advance...... That seems crazy to me because a preggo belly grows so fast!!! Ugh, this whole process is stressful!

I have posted a few that I like, let me know what you think! I'll be 7.5 months preggo at my wedding and since my belly is already pretty big, I can only image how huge it will be then!

Wedding Etiquette- Invites?
My mom and I were looking at my guest list today and she was going over the people to see if I missed anyone important, I was positive that I hadn't since everyone important to me is close enough to me that I don't have to think about it.

While she was going through the list she asked where my MOH's (side note: my MOH is "man of honor") parents were on the list. I told her I wasn't inviting them because I don't know them that well and it would probably be weird to invite them to my wedding. She said its just proper wedding etiquette to invite them. I have never heard of this, and I absolutely will as long as he thinks its okay only because I don't want to be rude.

Has anyone else ever heard of this "rule"? Do you have a MOH who's parents you aren't close with? Did you invite them?
