My sister Ciara (glitteratihairdesign.com), did my updo in her salon. She attached extensions and coiled up the curls to make a side bun, and gave my almost shoulder-length hair lift to give me a pouf in the back. Just what I always wanted! (The extensions went down to almost my elbows.) It was great to have that much hair to work with to make the right sized bun. She even colored my hair to match the extensions. This hairstyle was inspired by a beautiful picture in a Kay Jewlers advertisement! The hair piece has a little tiny bird cage veil in it, along with feathers, beads, and a silk flower.
Makeup was done by one of my sister's friends, who is a hair stylist and makeup artist. She did a wonderful job with using the right colors and achieving the look I wanted. My inspiration came from "Ultimate Makeovers" by Robert Jones. A really, really great makeup artist! This book is definitely worth looking at if you need ideas for makeup.
