I don't know the specific tradition, but in my family the engagement ring goes on the right hand the day of the wedding. Then at the ceremony the groom places the wedding band on you. Then after the ceremony you place both on your left hand ring finger. lol sounds confusing i know, but you can pretty much do what makes you comfortable.

Im not really sure either, but I have always known the bride to put the engagment ring just on her pinky, if it will stay on of course. And then after putting the wedding band on just put it back on your left hand. The right hand works as well.. whatever you feel like!

I agree with Littlelady93... I plan on wearing my engagement ring on my right and when the ceremony is over I'll put it where its suppose to be... You can do it after the band is placed but do it where its not drawing attention...  Congrats!

Agree with littlelady. I'll wear mine on my right hand and then after the ceremony he will switch it to the left hand (nice photo up!)

l agree with all I'm wearing my engagement ring on my right hand then afterwards (pictures) switch to my left right....It should go band then diamond

I put my engagement ring on my right ring finger. Jesse put the wedding band on first (closeset to my heart) and then I put the engagement ring back on my left hand. That is how I still wear it! I have a pic on my page!
