Wedding Reception
At the Roof Top Cafe in Key West
Our reception was a very casual event that went very smoothly. But what a rush! After taking pictures on the beach we rushed over to the hotel to check out (before noon), otherwise we would have gotten charged $200 for 4 rooms we wouldn't have slept in. We packed everything up in a rush and hurried down to the restaurant.. and parking was tough to find. I quickly changed into a less formal white dress and many of my family members changed out of their wedding outfits into very casual clothing (which I wasn't too happy about). So only a few of us were still dressed like we had come from a wedding but whatever.. at this point I was just so relieved the wedding went great.

We arrived at the Roof Top Cafe to find a large table with customized menus (which I arranged) on each plate. The food was really good and it was nice having a 3 course meal for all our guests.

Morgan's best man gave his speech and then my maid of honor (my sister) gave hers. I don't know if I mentioned it in previous posts but my maid of honor should have been my BFF Dina BUT she couldn't make it down to key west so I made my sister the MOH. But really, I'm glad it turned out that way in the end. Of course it would have been great to have Dina as the MOH but my sister did such a great job and gave such a sweet speech that I don't see how it could have gone better. All in the speeches were great and so was the food. We cut our cake but didn't pass it out because everyone already had dessert. We got our cake from Cakes by Karol in Key West. It was buttercream with strawberry filling. It was perfect. We left Key West that day for Ft. Lauderdale.

My Wedding Day!
It was perfect..
Hey everyone! So, I'M MARRIED! It's so surreal. It was such a busy week. We live in Boise Idaho but had a destination wedding to Key West Florida. We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on May 29th, spent time with family and drove down to Key West on the 31st. We had dinner at a nice little restaurant called Duffy's and stayed at the Parrot Key Resort. It was really nice (a 2 story hotel for about $200, pricey!) On the day I got my hair done by Elena at Casa Salon for $120. I did my own makeup (just my eyes; I didn't wear foundation or anything else.) I ordered my cake from Cakes by Karol for $100. Everything was perfect.

Elena arrived at 8:30am to do my hair and my wedding was at 10:30am.. for which we were all late for! I was so stressed out that the whole ride to the beach my dress was unzipped! LOL. I literally couldn't breathe before the ceremony! My mom and brother kept having to unzip my dress.. haha.. but when I saw Morgan at the end of the alter I could breathe again.. so it turned out to be my nerves not the corset I was wearing. My dad walked me down the isle toward my grinning groom. He was smiling from ear to ear. The sun was so bright but it was morning so it wasn't too hot. My mom and mother in law were crying in the first row and everyone else was taking pictures. It was a quick and sweet ceremony with just 13 guest in attendance.. (just our immediate family, the way I wanted it). It was beautiful. Afterward we took pictures and then headed to the restaurant for our reception.

I'm a married woman!!

Dress Alterations
...ahh! 18 days!
Wow time flies!! I got my alterations done on Tuesday and I must say.. I LOVE MY DRESS. I was worried before when it didn't fit me properly but not I am in love with it. :DD Oh but time is moving too quickly and there is still so much I haven't done.

1. Pay off reception people
2. Buy last bridesmaid bouquet
3. Order and pay for wedding cake
4. Buy sexy loungerie for wedding night
5. Pay off wedding planners
6. Write vows!

And it doesn't help that I'm almost 100% broke.. We'll see if we can make it all happen in time otherwise we'll have to cut out the cake.

But really, I'm just happy to be getting married, despite our financial troubles it's the marriage that counts.

My WEDDING DRESS! (the one)
Here is my wedding dress! :) I do love it but I am worried about a few things; this is a size 8 but I was told that because it took so much to pin it on to fit right (and it still didn't quite fit right) that I am a size 6. So they are ordering it in a 6 and I'll try it on from there.. But what if I'm too big for a 6? I plan on trimming down through toning up BUT what if I'm still too big. There won't be much time to do alterations because the dress comes in on May 4th and I leave Boise on May 29th. I hope all goes well but I am worried.

So just so we're clear, I love the dress... && the train will be picked up so that it's not so long so the frills on the back will be more layered on top of each other, there is a picture of the store associate Dena showing me how it'll look. So there you have it, my dress!

I got it on David's Bridal credit card for $450.00

My dress shopping experience...the dresses I DIDN'T pick.
All I can say is OH MY GOD. Who would have thought that dress shopping could be so detramental to your self esteem. First off let me start out by saying, dress sizes are so unfair. I normally wear a 5 or 6 but in a dress they had me try on 8s! They made me feel so big. Not to mention all the young women with me were sizes smaller, so I felt like the big purple elephant in the room... :( But some of the dresses made me feel pretty... I kept this thought in my head "they will be altered after you get more into shape" I tried on, gosh, IDK how many but it seemed to last forever. LADIES, do not make the same mistake as I did; I tried on a bunch, found the one I liked and then told the sales person I could only spend $300. The dress I wanted cost $450.00 and you know what, I got it! But I had to sign up for their credit card in order to pay it off today, otherwise if I paid if off later (as in weeks later) they wouldn't order it until then and it takes 6 weeks to get to the store and then who knows when they'll be done altering it. I leave Boise for Ft. Lauderdale on May 29th, the dress will get to the store May 4th (or earlier) because I ordered it today.

The photos uploaded with this post are the dresses I DIDN'T PICK. The next post will be on THE DRESS I did pick. :) Let me know what you think.

Wedding Dress Shopping
coming up on March 23th!
Around the end of this month I will finally own my one and only wedding dress! I'm really excited, which actually surprised me because I never thought much of the wedding dress... to be honest I never thought much about weddings but WBC and the hype from my family has made me so excited for my wedding day. Yes, it will be small but it will be MY small ceremony in honor of the love my FH and I share. I'm really excited! I've been working out the details with the restaurant hosting our reception brunch as well as working out the details with the cake baker and our wedding coordinators. There's so much to do for a small wedding, I can't imagine the stress over a big one.

Going through all this planning has made me more appreciative of my parents, they are doing so much to make it to my wedding. You see, they still live on Saipan, and the trip from Saipan to Ft. Lauderdale Florida is a long and expensive one but they are taking the task on with excitement for me. Their support is a big part of my current happiness. Also, they have offered to pay for my dress. :) I'm a lucky kid.

Spray Tan
Yay or Nay?
Hello darlings!

So here is another opinion based question: To spray tan or not to spray tan? I'm already naturally tanned as it is (biracial) BUT my tan isn't even because some part of my body (arms) are more exposed than others (butt! haha) So what do I do? I don't want to do a tanning booth because I'm kind of against the damage it does to your skin... On the other hand I've researched that spray tanning isn't harmful and that you can achieve a natural glow. However, is it true that it only lasts about a week & will it make me orange? Are bronzers (in the mix) a good thing or bad? I'm thinking about testing it out this Friday so I know what it looks like before I go jumping into a tanning box days before the wedding.

Thanks for the input! :D
