So I have a question...what do you say to someone who asks if they are in your wedding?
I have a friend...whom i have known since the 2nd grade...and she asked me if she was in my wedding. Now don't get me wrong she is my girl and all but i didn't intend on her being one of my bridesmaids. I brought this up to my hunny and said he knew these sort of calls were going to come especially since she had me in her wedding. now to me just because i'm in someone's wedding doesn't guarantee you a spot in my wedding, and just because we have known one another for years and years doesn't neccessarily (did i spell that right?) mean that you are supposed to be in my wedding. needless to say i never texted her back and she just texted me again tonight. oh i also brought this up to my sister and she suggested that i tell her that i had another role in mind for her...now she is great on the mic and a total people person so maybe i can have her as a hostess or something...

Sooo here's the update about our engagement party. If anyone doesn't know the story the post about me worrying about a potential problem. Well I didn't sense any tension between my hunnybunny and my friends. actually everyone had a great time!!! Our theme was a fiesta - we had a street taco chef make tacos on the spot, a salsa instructor, 2 pinata's (one for adults that had plastic mini tequila bottles & catus shaped shot glasses, and candy, & one for kids), since we had over 60 people come we had two large group games - taboo (which was all about us and if you played taboo it is a FUN game) & 25 squares (it was an ice breaker game where people had to fill 25 squares with peoples names...oh each box had a description of someone and they had to find that person), oh and i made 150 cupcakes...which will be my side hustle to earn money for our wedding...so i had to show everyone my skills...oh and as people came in we took pictures of all the guests and we will use them on our thank you cards. Overall i was pretty impressed with what we put together and there was no tension what so ever!!!

whew!!!

Sooooo i have found my wedding dress!!!! Although the wedding is next october, i found my dress at a sample sale this past saturday!!! i tried on a few dresses and fell in love with the second dress i tried on!!! I chose this dress because it is a classic yet sexy dress. my mom & rickey were like are you going to love this dress next year & i said YES!!!! with it being a classic style this dress can be worn this year, next year, and years after...and i looked great in it too!!!

i showed rickey this picture & he loved it!!!!

This is asking for advice....

Soooo I have already mentioned my bridesmaid dillema...this has to do with those ladies. Our engagement party is in a few weeks and my hunny bunny doesn't like two of my "friends". He doesn't like the way they treat me (that's a different story), but I've known them for soooo long. So they will be at my engagement party and he told me that he isn't going to say anything to them and if they speak to him, he isn't going to say anything. He is very serious about this...he said that to make it easier on everyone to let them know not to even speak to him. man oh man...so I say babe you don't have to be rude or mean just be cordial. he says that is being fake and if they were regular people on the street that he didn't like he wouldn't speak to them either. I don't like conflict...and i don't want anyone's feeling to get hurt (i'm always trying not to get anyone's feelings hurt...but they don't always look out for mine...which is another reason why rickey isn't cool with them)

should i tell them?

Soooo I have been up in the air about this topic...children at the reception.
Now don't get me wrong I love children...i'm a teacher...but I just don't want little children at the reception.
Here are my reasons:

1. At some locations they charge the same for a child as they do for an adult...we are on a strict budget...and even if they didn't it can still get pretty costly. My hunny bunny's side of the family has a lot of little children.

2. Children will be children...some children aren't well behaved and can rub off on the well behaved ones...running around, screaming, bumping into everyone. Children also get tired after a while (we want a night recption) and get whiny & crying...i can't stand whiny & crying children (but that's how kids communicate but I don't want to deal with that our reception)

3. I know parents want to set good examples for their kids so they might not be as loose or as fun as they want to be...we want our reception theme to be more of a party.

Now i know there are solutions to all of these problems...like hiring a baby sitter and finding a location where the kids can be in a separate room and ordering food and having games for them...but that's also another expense.

I also know that people will also be upset at the possibility of their kids not being able to go, but we are paying for this wedding and i think people should be more understanding.

Another issue is that rickey's daughter (she will be 9 at the time), 2 of his little cousins (they will both be 9 at the time), his brother (10 at the time), and my little nephew (that will be 3 at the time) will be in the wedding...but I said that the wedding is separate from the reception.

I don't know what to doooo!!!!!

So I have a pretty stylish mother and i want her to have a foxy dress. Usually the dresses they have for mothers are horrible and i just cannot see my mother wearing them...picture 3

So I am really loving this idea for our save the date cards!!! I think it's better than the traditional card. Me and my hunny bunny are fun loving people so this is sooooo up our alley. We would have our own photo shoot (which will save us money) and use photoshop to create our own and try to find a company that will print them at a low cost.

We also liked the photo booth idea for our wedding thank you cards also!!!

It's different and creative!!!

So I will be getting married next year and we (rickey & i) are going to have 7 wedding attendants...anyway so here is my dilemma:

what happens when one of your oldest friends friendship changes and you are in their wedding just because it seems like the right thing to do...one of your oldest friends, common friends, having to answer questions about why one of your friends isn't a part of the wedding party (i'm just speculating here...but i feel strongly about these reasons)...am i supposed to follow suit? I know i would feel awkward having to be the person having to answer questions about why one of your oldest friends isn't in my wedding and all the other circle of friends is in the wedding, but if the friendship is different should they be in the wedding?

i mean to me it is an honor to be asked to be in someone's wedding...someone thought enough about you to be a part of a very special day. rickey asked me do i want to lower the wedding attendants so that i won't have to go through all of this, but he had his mind on having 7 attendants since 7 is a spiritual number.


I already know of 5 of my bridesmaid - sister MOH, 2 close friends (one of which says i should just keep the peace...that's what she did), his daughter as a junior bridesmaid, and his sister. that leaves 2 spaces...now my sister and one of my friends already know that they are a part of my special day and i will be officially them (my choices) one year from the actual wedding date so i have a lot of time (and so do they) but every now and then i get worried about this.

UPDATE:
So we have decided to just have 5 bridesmaids & groomsmen. My hunnybunny is going to talk to his sister about being a bridesmaid and the potential idea that my two other "friends" might not be in the wedding...I met his sister through one of those friends...she is very close to one of them and I have known that "friend" since the 5th grade but things have changed over the last few years. Another friend of mine (one of my future bridesmaids and included in this circle) asked me how am i going to explain to them how rickey's sister can be in the wedding and not them...i thought about that too...but I said "i'm not asking his sister to be my bridesmaid, rickey is. if she decides not to be in the wedding she has to explain that to rickey and not me." I really and truely do not like conflict & I can see this being a problem.

Augggghhh!!!

So this is my beautiful engagement ring...past, present, and future. Everyone said that he did good...I agree...but Rickey has awesome taste in everything so I wouldn't expect any less. Actually this is the ring that I wanted, but he said he had other rings in mind so I was pretty surprised that he got the one I asked for. He actually said that he wanted to get me another ring...I was like babe I love my ring and wouldn't want to change it.

When we went to get my ring resized I asked him the type of ring that he might want...so the last three are the ones that he picked. He said that he didn't want anything traditional. I would have never picked these rings but they TOTALLY fit his personality and style!!!

Our wedding colors are eggplant purple (basically plum or royal purple), mocha (tan), and gold (Rickey loves the Lakers!!!) and i'm debating if my bridesmaid dresses should be eggplant or tan. The eggplant is the main color and I think that it would look wonderful on my bridesmaid...they are all different shades of brown. I showed my sister...which is the maid of honor..and she said the tan since the purple is sooo rich. So i don't know...auuugghhh!!!

Now the main picture are the dresses that I really like, but I don't know if it would look good with the type of wedding dress I want. But a few of my soon to be bridesmaids are very hippie (large hips) and I don't know if a fitted dress would suit them. auuugggghhhh!!!! I don't know what to doooooo!!!!!

I have time to decide on this...I am going to formally ask my bridesmaid to be in my wedding October 10th (1 year from the actual wedding). I would ask them earlier, but 2 of my friends are getting married in July & August and my other friend is having her baby in July so I want all that to be taken care of and for them to be ready when I ask them to be in my wedding...of course I am giving them the option of declining but I think 1 year from the actual wedding date is enough time to save money...i'm going to have a bridal pot...where each month they put money into an account so that they won't have to pay lump sums of money.

Sooooo I decided not to go princess for my wedding dress. My mother has blessed me with a nice shape :O) and I want to show it...however i do have 20 pounds to lose by next year!!!

Rickey doesn't want me to lose the weight but this is something that I want to do...he thinks I going to disappear. I told him that I will still be thick and sexy with the 20 pound weight loss but right now he isn't hearing me...i just have to show him.

Since I am in 2 weddings this year I am constantly online looking for ideas to tell my friends. While I am looking for ideas for them, I selfishly look for myself >:OP...soooo I found this great site and it seems soooo cool! Wedding Graffitti!!! I showed Rickey and he thought it was sooo tight also

The proposal....hmmmm where should I begin??? I'll start from the begining

Well me and my hunnybunny have been together for over 3 years and lately we have been talking about marriage...5 of my dear friends have gotten or are in the stages of getting married....so how could we not talk about it? So Rickey tells me that some time this year we would be engaged...so I knew it was coming but just didn't know when...and I told him "don't talk about it be about it" because I did't want to get my hopes up and it not happen.

blahblahblah...

The day of the proposal...

So I am a 7th grade science teacher in Los Angeles and I was reading to my students while they were working on a science poster and my principal and my mentor (who is like a second mother to me) come in through the back door (I have 3 doors - 2 in the front & 1 in the back) and I was surprised because the principal doesn't come to my room that often. She tells me that they are going to do a backpack search because there may be a weapon in my classroom...I was like oh heck no!...and I look at my mentor and she nods her head like just go.

So I go with her and she tells me that she pulled me out because it is very hard to see one of your students getting arrested...blahblahblah. So we were outside for like 7 minutes and then the assistant principal (who was my 7th grade teacher and high school counselor) comes outside all upset telling me that they need me to come inside because the students aren't cooperating...now my students know that I don't play when it comes to respecting adults and to hear that they weren't cooperating I was getting ready to GO OFF on them.

So I go into my classroom and it's all quiet and I see Mr. Green (he works in the office and is the bomb!!!) with a camera...i'm like "hey greenie green" but confused because why is he here with the camera? is he here to take pictures of the weapon?...i was like whatever let me set my students straight because they WERE NOT going to embarrass me!!! Mrs. Miller says "bring him in!!!"...and here comes Rickey!!! & all my students say "SURPRISE!!!" and they are holding 1 rose.

So already I am super surprised!!! then Rickey comes over to me and gives me 1 rose...i'm just cheesing away!!! So all of a sudden he says how he loves me and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and THEN gets down on one knee...the look in his eyes said that he loves me soooo much...and asks me to be his wife!!! I say "YES!!" and give him the biggest hug ever!!!

So all of my students give me their rose and a hug then say "Congrats Ms. H." I felt sooo special!!! I couldn't breathe!!!

Rickey is in the front of the room with plastic champagne glasses and sparkling cider and preparing for a toast. I was soooo happy!!! I couldn't stay still and I had the biggest smile on my face!!!

He says his toast, everyone was happy...my principal, assistant principal, and mentor were crying...and that's my proposal.
