50/50 Raffle: What do you think?
I attended a wedding where the bride and groom opted to do a 50/50 raffle instead of a Dollar Dance. What do you think? It was $1.00 per tickets, $5 for 8 tickets or $10 for 20. They ended up with $700.00 so the winner of the 50/50 and the bride and groom got $350.00. It only took about 5 minutes of their reception and the Bridesmaids handled the whole thing! The DJ announced it and everyone jumped at getting a ticket. Simple Enough!

So tell me, what would you think it you saw this? Tacky? Fun idea? HELP!

If you having a jack and jill, I wouldn't have a 50/50 raffle as well, as you will make money at your jack and jill. But if you are not, I say go for it!

I have never heard of this.  A raffle.  It's a wedding not a "raising funds" function.  Only ever seen 50/50 tickets at a hall party hosted by athletic teams to raise funds.

I think the dollar dance is acceptable in some cultural backgrounds. But I would suggest that all guests may not be of the same cultural background as the Bride & Groom and should not be expected to participate.

I think that amcs76 may have a good idea maybe at a Jack & Jill party for the Bride & Groom hosted by the Bridal Party.....

I think it's a neat idea, but not sure I have a take on it.  I guess that doesn't help :( I believe the dollar dance is a little more "acceptable"  I've also heard of a money tree where people clip money on it.

I love it! I think this is great, especially if your feet will be hurting....

This is excellent for a Casino theme wedding...My theme is Tiffany & co. I don't think it's appropriate for mine...but I love the idea!
