Unity Candle
Something not so "Unity Candle"?
As most of you know, I recently ordered my unity candle from a company that happened to be discontinuing my style. Lucky for me, I ordered the very last one...unlucky for me, it arrived broken, beyond repair. So, back to the drawing board.
This made me realize something; I've always been a fan of things that were not so...weddingy (just made that word up). I've decided to find a different type of unity candle. It was so hard for me to really come up with the words to describe what I wanted or was looking for. Then I came across this picture; it's perfect. I'm fine with going to Ikea, Crate and Barrel or Pier 1 and finding some really cute candle dolhers that I like and putting pillar candles on them. We could light them with those really long matches (although I have no idea where the hell buy those). What do you ladies think? Do you think it will throw my guests off or is it just a cool idea???? |

A Bridesmaid Picked her dress!!!
I'm sooooooooooo excited!
As most of you know, each of my girl's is wearing a different dress. They will all be from the same designer (Forever Yours).
I've been waiting on pins and needles for months hoping one of them would choose one. I know it's stupid...but it makes me feel like it's getting closer. Anyway, today my cousin emailed me with her dress decision and I'm so happy. It's all coming together and I'm starting to see the big picture. I'm hoping this will cause the other's to get their asses in gear. It's all coming together! |

What do you think?
I created these myself on PowerPoint. They will be printed on labels and stuck on the front of a handle bag (as shown in the second photo).
I actually liked the label that is on the handle bags in the second picture, so I kind of created my own version of it. I like it a lot, but it doesn't fit my "theme" or feel I am going for. I have a lot of scroll work and I'm worried the polk-a-dots will seem too cutsie and out of place. What do you ladies think? Look good or should I go back to the drawing board? |

Job Hunt (NWR)
I got the job!!!!
This was the job that I interview for a couple weeks ago and there was an issue with vacation time.
They have busy times every year where they don't allow vacation time. One is Feb-March and I have my friends wedding in Jamaica. The other is Aug-Oct and my wedding is October 10th. They decided I was worth working around my vacation time and offered me the job early this morning! I am sooooooo excited. I wanted it really bad. It's a small company with girls my age and everyone's friends, so I'm really hoping to make some really great friends. Best part? The owner brings her two Pugs to work everyday! :-) I love doggies! |

Wedding Dress
Here it is...what do you think?
I just placed the deposit on it at the end of December...so now it's all mine.
I love it, it's very pretty...it's a VERY close replica to the Melissa Sweet Lia (which retails for $5,600) and this one only ran me $780. WAHOO!!!! The dress looks deflated in these pictures because it doesn't have the crinoline under it, so it'll be alot fluffier once I get my real dress it. They actually have to sew it in, so they wait for me to get it altered to fit my body before doing so. Also, this dress is a size 14 and they I was between the sizes of 10 and 8...so I am attempting to hold it tight while my friend took the pictures. Hopefully I will lose some weight, too...and the dress will actually look nice on me and not so "lumpy". So that's my baby! Isn't she purty? |

Anyone else feel like a whale when you see pics of yourself in your dress?
I love my dress, it's perfect, so it's not the dress's fault...it's mine. I feel like a princess when I wear it...and the reflection in the mirror really isn't that bad either. But the pictures are a WHOLE different story!!!!
I see lumps in places I didn't think I had them. My arms are all jelly and swingy...it's GROSS! I used to be a size 2 and my dress they ordered me is a size 10! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know, for some of you a size 10 is great...well, I'm only 5'2"....so that's NOT great. I'm so embarrased by these pictures I won't even send them to my bridesmaid's and I don't think I want to even post them on here for you ladies to have to see... I've seen brides and other women who are bigger than me look stunning...for some reason, I look like shit. I don't look pretty, I look like a blimp and I will hate myself forever if I look like this on my wedding day! :-( I'm so disappointed in myself... |

Unity Candle was delivered today
And it's broken!!!!
WAHHHHHHHH!!!!
Here's the worst part...it's a discontinued design and it's the last one they had in stock! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, I thought I had the unity candle thing taken care of, I can un-mark that off my list. The good new is, the company is going to give us our money back...but I really had my hear set on that style. Anyone know of any really unique ways o do a unity candle (besides a sand ceremony...I still want a candle). It doesn't even have to be a "unity candle"...I'm find with any ol' style candle. Any cool pics you've come across??? PLEASE HELP! I need inspiration! |

This is supposed to be the job of you MOH, but the fact is, most dont realize that this is something they are supposed to do
then there are other brides who have an MOH that just doesnt care.
I am fortunate enough that my MOH is like a friggin boy scout and not only does she already have a list of these things, but she probably has most of it purchased! :-) However, I am in a wedding in March for my super awesome and dear friend, Kelly. Kelly has appointed her older sister as her MOH and her older sister is CLUELESS!!!! So Im taking it upon myself to make sure we have these goodies on hand. I ordered it finally! YIPPPEEEEEE!!!
I'm soooooo excited about my dress. I love it so much and can't wait to wear it on my wedding day. It's perfect.
The dress shop told me it would be in around June! That's really fast, right??? Anyway, I have some picks of it on my camera, and once I get them loaded up, I'll be posting them. It's been a good week. Something tells me 2009 is going to be a good year! :-) |
