This is cj609a's Red Wedding!

So, next week I finally get to order my wedding dress! I am so excited! I have been losing weight, and I wanted to get to my first goal of weighing 200 lbs before I ordered my dress, and I hit that goal last week!

My dress is AA style #1612, in claret and ivory. I think I am going to get a seamstress to add some kind of sleeves to it like I tried to show in the picture with my extremely bad editing software. What do ya'll think?

Here are the designs for my save-the-dates. I am ordering them from MagnetStreetWeddings. They were the cheapest I could find for the size I wanted.

They are based off the invitations I have been working on. It is a rough draft, and the finished product will be much cleaner. Also, the text on the gray areas will be white, not black, but for some reason I cannot get it to save as a jpeg in white. Weird.

PS: Yes, we 'broke' into the stadium and took pictures, although it is technically not breaking in if the gate is left unlocked!

This is the theme I have created for my wedding. It is a fleur-de-lis with our initial in it. I created it using my computer.

I got the idea to use a fleur-de-lis from my fiance. He liked the symbol. I researched it and found out that the fleur-de-lis was first a drawing of a stylized iris, so I thought it fit well with the flowers I wanted.

This symbol is going on our STD's, Invites, the cake, some of the centerpieces, etc. It will also be in red and blue on somethings.

Random Movie: American Pie

We got engaged on April 6th, 2007. That's right, 2007. Over a year ago. We decided to wait to get married until after Steven had graduated, which he will do in May. I will not graduate until December (sigh). That's my ring on the right. It is a .375 carat colorless diamond flanked by two deep blue sapphires in white gold. Absolutely wonderful and exactly what I wanted! (The picture does not do it justice).

Anyway, since I have had over a year to think about this wedding, I have gotten lots of ideas about tons of different things. We already have the major items decided on:

Ceremony: Vestavia Primitive Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL
A plain, basic church that is a blank canvas for decorating. I am going to do very simple, elegant decorations for it.

Reception: The Bradley Center at Children's Harbor, Children's Hospital in Birmingham, AL
Not your usual reception site. The building is shaped to look like a ship (not kidding at all), and the top floor is a conference room with huge floor to ceiling windows looking out over the city of Birmingham. Gorgeous!

Highly recommended (by my Dad, who works at Children's Hospital). Picked out a basic menu. More to come.

Hello Ladies!

So, I am new to the whole blogging thing. I just wanted to try it out and get my ideas out into the world and get some feedback from all of you.

A little bit about me: I am a 21-year-old female attending the University of Alabama, trying to graduate in a year, and planning the wedding of my dreams to the man I love. And that's only in my spare time!

My wedding is inspired by the picture to the right. It is composed of red roses and blue irises. The main colors of my wedding are red and white, with the blue and also silver providing accent colors.

I hope to use this blog to talk about my ideas for my wedding. Please don't hesitate to give me some feedback on the ideas I have presented. Let me know what you think.
