Update on necklaces
I'm done with the necklaces for my bridesmaids. Can't wait for my girls to see them!!

I decided to get rid of the orange details. I thought they cheapened the look... and couldn't seem to make it work.

Sorry for the blurry pics. I don't know how you girls do it!?

Wedding Dress
Went for my final fitting today
And I brought my dress home. Now it really feels like I'm getting married next week! So exciting!

Funny thing is that after trying on the dress and agreeing to bring it home... I had to run outside to check on the parking meter. My mom was still inside taking care of everything. I waited in the car for at least 15 minutes. I was wondering what was going on inside!? Finally, my mom came outside empty handed. She wanted me to go back inside and be the one to take the dress from the store to the car. So I carried my dress through the porch! And of course, my mom was waiting with her camera ready to take a picture of me!

**If ever you experience problems uploading your pictures, open them in Paint and rename them. It worked for me.**

Update on seating chart
I'm done with the seating chart. I finally glued all the names on the pictures.

We decided to name our tables rather than number them. We opted for pictures of places where significant moments in our relationship took place. You can easily tell our story by looking at the pictures. I hope it gets people talking and walking around to see what pictures we used.

I'm including pictures of the seating chart and of the frames we're using on the tables.

Another last minute DIY
After the wonderful bachelorette my friends threw me, I decided to add a necklace to their gift.

If any of my girls are reading this; SURPRISE!!

I DIYed the necklaces using glass and Swarowski beads. It was my first time doing that type of jewelry. I found it to be fairly easy. I used these website as inspiration:

Wedding Favors
A last minute DIY project
My Fiancé and I had agreed not to do favors. But I still felt like we should thank our guests with a little something sweet. Hence, we decided to prepare homemade apple jelly with my mom.

It took us an afternoon to fill our 60 small mason jars which we covered with leftover fabric from the linens. It's super cute and will ornate the guestbook table.

We had such a great time making the jelly. Super relaxing and we spent quality time together before the wedding!!

Only 11 days left!

Wedding make-up
Just went for my trial
If you've been reading my blog, you know that I'm DIYing my make-up for my wedding day. I still feel a bit shaky about it, so I went for help at Sephora, a make-up store. I had a trial for my eyes (using the eyeshadows I had bought previously). I'm really happy with how it came out... it's going to look great with my hat.

I chose a set of purple eyeshadows by Lise Watier. Purples always look good on chestnut brown eyes. I also came home with Make-Up Forever's HD foundation and matifying loose powder, and NARS' Orgasm blush (I had to try it!!!).

Just few tricks if you're also thinking of DIYing your make-up... Use a base on your eyelids before you apply an eyeshadow (I'm using Urban Decay's potion). Also use a loose powder on your liquid foundation; it'll fix your make-up and give you a more polished look. I'd also recommend watching video tutorials on YouTube. I really like Make-up Geek's (http://www.makeupgeek.com/).

I'll do 2 or 3 practice runs in the next 2 weeks. Then, I'll be ready for the big day!!

Some more DIYing
I'm finally done with my programs!!! Yay! It took me a really long time to complete them. I'm not sure I would have gone with the same format had I known how much time consuming it is. Everything is hand-made. I even drew them myself because we printed in black and white.

And I decided to do a memo board to pin my seating chart on it. I'm so so happy with the result. I made it using a piece of wood, fabric from the napkins, decorative nails, ribbons and padding. Here's a how-to: http://www.doityourself.com/stry/memoboard; although I did not use it. Just went with what I had seen on a Martha-Stewart-like TV show.

Only 3 weeks to go!

Wedding Flowers
I'm super excited about the flowers!!! My sister-in-law who just finished a florist course will be doing all our flowers. I asked for white and orange/peachy flowers. We'll have tons of hydrangea, fresia and small roses. She's come up with ideas that I love love love.

Here's a picture of what my bouquet will look like in orange and white. The bridesmaids bouquet will have a bit more white. And the centerpieces will be round bouquets mounted in the vases I got on sale last Christmas (only 3$ each).

Wedding Invitation
RSVPs are almost all in!
People were asked to RSVP by August, 1st, and we have received all the answers but 2.

We will be having close to 60 guests. That's exactly where I wanted to be. We were able to invite all the people we wanted (close to 80), and still managed to get a number of guests we're comfortable with.

Yay! On to the seating chart now...

My garter
Since I couldn't find anything that really resembled me, and inspired by fellow WBC brides (Sarahdarling and Renorx), I decided to design and make my own garter. It was really simple and also very cheap. It cost about 4$.

I used a strip of lace (approx 1 m), ribbon (leftovers from all my DIYs), buttons, and small fabric roses.

Here's the how-to: I started folding the lace and pinning it. I then pinned the ribbon on the middle of the lace. I sewed the ribbon on the lace using a sewing machine, and inserted a small piece of elastic to join the 2 ends of the lace strip. For the finishing touch, I sewed the roses and ladybug buttons on the garter. (In case you wonder, I didn't use an elastic band all around. Just a personal choice!!)

The ladybugs are a small wink for my Fiancé. And besides, my WBC name coccinelle means ladybug in French.

It's so cute!! I don't want it to been thrown at the guys now....
