Groomsmen attire
vest and matching pants
After hours spent shopping for the groomsmen we opted for a charcoal-grey vest with matching pants. Since we're having a morning wedding, we thought we'd keep the boys casual. I think they will be much more comfortable throughout the day... and I'm more comfortable with the pricetag!?
We went shopping with all the boys on a weeknight and ended the night in a restaurant. It only took us 30 minutes to try everything on. The salesmen were waiting for us (we had visited the store 2 times prior to buying).I think it wasn't too much of a traumatic experience for the boys!!? They actually enjoyed meeting each other... and I was so so relieved to finally know what they'll be wearing. |

Bachelorette party
Sweet! I just received an invitation from one of my bridesmaids. The only thing I know is the date. I'm sure we'll have a blast... I have no clue what they are planning...

DIY Wedding
DIY party *update*
The DIY party went AMAZING!! I couldn't have asked for more!!
Two of my BMs as well as my Fiancé's mother joined my mother and I to colour, cut, iron, tie knots, etc. etc. to make all our decorations. In one afternoon, we were able to fold all the napkins and tie the ribbons around the menus. Colour and cut all the programs (we made a spelling mistake on the first page so I have to reprint them this week). Cut the ribbons for the garlands. Glue the nametags on the frames. And make the bows for the ceremony decor. AMAZING!! I'm in love with everything that we made today, and my FMIL came up with a super good idea for the programs. Instead of using rope to tie them, I'll use a ribbon and some studs (similar to what was done for the frames). SO much better! In case you're wondering why we took our coloring pencils out... I decided to print everything at home in black and white to save money. We thought we'd add some colour detailing so we did it by hand. All I have left to do is finish the programs and the garlands. A piece of cake after all of this! |

DIY Wedding
DIY party
Up to now, I've been working on my DIY projects alone with my mom. There was not enough to invite my bridesmaids to join in. But since they were so eager to help, I've decided to throw a DIY party.
So this weekend, we'll be gathering (BMs, the mothers and myself) to do some major arts & crafts. At the same time, I think it's a great opportunity for everybody to get to know each other and for my mother and my fiancé's mother to meet again. It'll be some sort of meet-and-greet DIY tea party... if that makes any sense. We'll have plenty of things to keep us occupied and good food!!! I've been planning this "event" for the past two-weeks. I want to make sure we have all the material we need. Here is a list of what we'll be doing: -Preparing the napkins (folding with the menu and wrapping a ribbon with the name tags) -Making pomanders for the ceremony (out of floral mesh) -Decorating the frames for the table names -Assembling the programs -Making garlands I'll post pictures of the party next week!! |

DIY Wedding
Napkins: DONE
That's it! We're done sewing the napkins. All in all, we made 65 of them.
They were fairly easy to make. We measured and ironed the borders to make sure it's straight before sewing them. We have two different colours wit the same pattern: white on blue and blue on white. |

Ask a Question
Hair and make-up
How out-of-the-ordinary does it really have to be?
I'm quite good at make-up and usually pretty well put together... I'm just not sure how special my make-up has to be for my big day?? I was thinking of DIYing it and using soft champagne and taupe shades. I asked my Fiancé and he thinks it should be a bit more "osé". I think I should look like myself, and not be too much on the wedding day. What do you think? For the hair part now! Since I'm wearing a hat for the wedding, my hairstyle choice is pretty limited. When I tried on my hat with my dress, my hair was down and naturally curly/wavy. I really liked it and so did my MOH and BM. I'm not sure I really want to pay the $120 my hairstylist is asking to end up with something I can do myself (it's $60 for the trial and $60 for the big day). What would you do? Thanks for the advice! |

Wedding Cake
Our cake topper
We were set on the idea of DIYing it (see post below), but my Father-in-Law gave us these 2 Romanian dolls. The dolls are wearing a traditional Romanian costume and have magnets in their heads which makes them kiss all the time.
It will be a nice touch of my Fiancé's culture! |
